I wouldn’t say their all that popular as much as they can easily be blended in. Their pretty much a blank slate with no defining characteristics, so putting them in a costume of any character makes them instantly look natural, where Rayman and the gang wouldn’t.

I’m bored….and I realized I forgot to draw my regional bug…which I’m having second thoughts on
It starts as Heirlva a Emperor Butterfly caterpillar which has these crown horn like thingies and a jewel on its rear
Into Krystasis a glittery cocoon that looks like a fabrege egg with crystal like threads
Into Emproyal which is the fully grown Butterfly with Jewel patterned scales and becomes Bug/Psychic
I have a theory that Blue Diamond Subjects don’t have weapons in their gems cause think
We have never seen Sapphire use one she only has freezing powers
Aquamarine uses a wand that doesn’t come from her gem and her wings aren’t either
Holly blue Agate has yet to show one
And Lapis… Well even though her wings may come from her gem but Aquamarine also does have wings kind of making her weapon less useful and she uses water from her hands instead of her gem
And Blue Pearl doesn’t appear to have one either
So this is my logical conclusion to stick with

I get that he didn’t develop until now but I really like Lars… I had a feeling he was good deep down
Alright, and with what I’m about to say I am going to mention the episodes to the upcoming 4 parter. So Spoiler time:
Alright. The thing is that looking to the titles and descriptions to them, I’d say its safe enough to say Lars will NOT die. The final episode is being pitched as Steven gets to know the real Lars. The episode though is called Lars’s head. Personal guess is that lars gets hurt, steven heals him, but he’s not waking up. Steven goes into Lars’s head and learns the truth about Lars and how he sees himself and the world around him. The two grow closer and likely Fuse together, giving homeworld their first real experience of a gem/human hybrid/fusion that could lead into some of Renaldo’s speculation(since what he says tends to be hints to future plot points). The two will probably survive and be fine. That’s my speculation purely off of the title names.

4. Lars’ head

I have no doubt that’s lars, but my problem is that Lol at the start of it. It kinda makes it seem more like their joking and the whole things out of context. Kinda like you could take any scene of Steven crying and say someone died. In this case, look at the time stamp. It looks like its at about 10:30. The average episode is about 11 minutes, so this is something an episodes meant to end on. The problem is that we know Lars has to be alive for the final episode, and given its a four parter, its ending has to be them escaping. So my guess would be in the third episode Lars goes down(we’ve scene previews of him fighting to protect Steven), Steven heals him right away, but he’s still out cold, goes into his mind, the two bond, fuse in the last five minutes and then find away to escape and the two grow, having great development.
