To help you stock up for your upcoming adventure, more items will be awarded from every PokéStop you visit, and Poké Balls will be 50% off in the in-game shop. Your Buddy Pokémon is also in the adventuring spirit and will find Candies four times as fast for the duration of the celebration. Because my issue is Shellos and Gastrodon are ocean dwelling Pokemon, they just slink out into tidepools to eat and inch back to the warm shallow tides
If they were removed and forced into a dark dry cave or mineshaft, they would quickly dry out and starve,
It just be easier to create a worm Pokemon that constantly eat and dig through rock and dirt, miners would totally love having them assist with digging and excavation (if they’re not worried about certain ores and minerals being eaten by accident)
according to evolution everything was once an ocean dweller and we adapted, all it would take would be a dire situation causing them to slowly adapt. Say a small group of Shellos got trapped in a large pool within a cave, over generations and as their pool became less habitable they would adapt to their surroundings until they change their living place completely, sure theres a chance some one adapt but theres just an equal chance that they will. You say it has to be realistic but at the same time this is how evolution works and you still cant accept it? honestly if you really want to get technical all pokemon have some aspect of them that is toxic in nature because every pokemon can learn the move toxic, which means that somewhere in their DNA is a dormant sort of Toxicity, all it would take for it to appear is a genetic mutation enhancing the ability

The first of my regional forms (I’ll post more later), Shellos and Gastrodon. Because of not living near the sea for many years Shellos have transformed into Ground types.
Slavian Shellos
Ground
They love being underground with miners. Because of It’s slimy body, if a miner is trapped underground it can squeeze through spaces between rocks and bring help.
Slavian Gastrodon
Ground/Rock
After evolving, they can help miners even more. They can carry tools on their backs and eat useless rocks that miners dig out. Gastrodon are very respected pokemon due to the many lives of miners they saved.
Based on miners in the Silesia Province in Poland. They have their own culture, suits for special occasions and are respected in the community.
