Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was recently released for the Nintendo Switch and we know many of our readers are currently offering everything the game has to offer. Today, however we’re please to announce something fun for the site: The PokéJungle Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tournament. A bit of a mouthful, right?
Our tournament will start as a one-off event, with the possibility of running weekly tournaments depending on the turn-out! We want our readers to decide the possible date for the first tournament, and as such we are proposing the following dates and times:

That’s fair, as far as I’ve heard it’s pretty great. What kills it for me though is that I wasn’t a huge fan of battle mode in the previous games and they didn’t add any new tracks. A simple 2 new cups would’ve convinced me to purchase.

Double item boxes, no more fire hopping, purple boost, use of one of the best controllers ever, of course the new Battle Mode, the inclusion of DLC if you didn’t have it, 59 fps bug fixed and the ease how the Switch can be used for local multiplayer are all small additions that combined make it worth the repurchase though.
Don’t forget 1080p, the game looks SO good.

Magic – Thanks to the presence of the crystals, humans can manipulate magic. Unlike Pokemon, this magic isn’t an integral part of them, and thus they don’t have types. Humans are ‘typeless’ although certain races have a higher chance of having affinities to a certain set of elements of single element.
Races – Different types of humans, caused by the isolation of the races after the First Great Crystal War, which was only truly resolved after the Second Great Crystal War. The races we know of in real life are just differences in appearances in this world, and aren’t treated differently at all. Racism stems from these magical races.
Crystal Affinity – What magic the person is best suited for. Everyone has a ‘prime affinity’, but have varying affinities for all crystals, from innate mastery to not being able to use that form of magic.
Nought People – People who can’t easily be sorted into any group. Tend to have an affinity for any crystal, but crystal affinity seems to be passed along though families to some extent.
Cross People – People who are mixed race, combining assets from their origins including crystal affinity.
Earth People – Tend to be bigger, and either muscular or fat. Tend to have an affinity for the three earth based crystals, especially the Ground Crystal.
Fire People – Tend to be all shapes and sizes, bit are tanned, as well as usually freckled. Tend to have an affinity for the fire aligned crystals, especially the Fire Crystal.
Water People – Tend to come in all shapes and sizes, but are paler than others tone wise regardless of their skin colour. Tend to have an affinity for the water aligned crystals, especially the Water Crystal.
Air People – Tend to be tall, lithe, and athletic. Tend to have an affinity for the air aligned crystals, especially the Flying Crystal.
Fair Folk – An extinct sub species of humans, mutated due to the magic aligned crystals exploding and reforming many, many years ago. Whilst the Psychic Crystal exploding caused psychics to be born into the many races, and the Ghost Crystal caused mass death, the Fairy Crystals infused humans with the ‘Power of the Fairies’ . They were hunted to near extinction and time finished them off, but there are five remaining races that are descendents of them. They had odd eyes (unique to each individual, influenced by family), vestigial wings which were used as status indicators, and pointed ears. They could use Hexes and Charms freely with mastery. They’re better at magic then normal humans, but must receive regular exposure to raw crystal energy. Their crossbreeding with humans made this need for crystal energy less devastating, with refined crystal energy being sufficient and required less regularly.
Pixies – Fair Folk/Naught crossbreeds
Nymphs – Mixed race Fair Folk descendants
Gnomes – Fair Folk/Earth crossbreeds
Undines – Fair Folk/Water crossbreeds
Salamanders – Fair Folk/Water crossbreeds
Sylphs – Fair Folk/Water crossbreeds
Crossbreeding between races is still illegal in some places, and some countries treat different races differently. However, out of fear, Fair Folk are often discriminated against – and as of late, are banned from the Earth Continent, with all refugees being sent to the Neutral Continent.

Yes because tbh if we don’t get any new Megas for the remainder of the franchise (which has at least another decade or two left imo) then it just goes to show GameFreak aren’t as great at game design as people think they are
Why? I don’t really think that’s a bad thing. They’ve turned the “new form for old pokemon” aspect into regional forms and the “once in a battle” into Z-moves (that probably will turn into something else in gen 8). I don’t really miss new Megas.
Why would they introduce the feature in the first place if they were just planning on throwing it away?
And Megas are meant to be a stronger form of that Pokemon and add new ideas to the base design or develop the ideas, whereas regional variants are an alternative, not an expansion.
Also IMO Megas had cooler designs and whilst Regionals help make the world feel more alive I personally feel they’re boring compared to Megas, which had this awesomess to them because they were exclusive power ups and imo cooler than Z-Moves (which can be hella anticlimactic if your opponent does something as simple as switch)
Finally someone I can agree with. Megas had a much bigger impact as a whole compared to Z-moves and regional variants (together). They were more interesting.
I am sad that we may not get more megas, but it is starting to look that way.

Familiars: Each mage can have three familiar Pokemon, and mages are the Pokemon trainers of this world. Their Pokemon helps them make their magic stronger, but must not fall into the trap of using them as a crutch for their magic. Battles occur to strengthen familiars, but battles between mages are also common.
Pets and livestock: Easily domestic Pokemon used for products or to care for. In this world meat has been replaced by transfiguring plant matter into animal matter, meaning its a best of both worlds situation.
Elemental Ascendance: Literally just Mega Evolution but with a convoluted fantasy name. Residual Infinity Energy (life energy) gets infused with Crystal Energy (elemental energy) and creates small crystals that can power certain Pokemon up, or in the case of human Infinity Energy, create the crystals that react with the Pokemon crystals to bring about the
Mega EvoElemental Ascendance…….. I LOVE IT!!!!!

Just finished watching 13 Reasons Why and holy shit.. like… what even.
I don’t really know…. how to feel? Like it was really good but I just kinda feel empty now after watching it. If you are interested in it, totally watch it but it gets really intense. You’re goona have to turn away from the screen a few times. I couldn’t watch the suicide scene
I just want one more episode though to wrap things up. Bryce needs to go to fucking jail, Alex needs to survive, I need to know wtf Tyler is doing with those guns and all that, It feels like nothing got done even after all that which is probably intentional. I’ve never had to deal with suicide personally so this show helped me realize how what you do to someone really can affect them. You’re told that all the time but you don’t realize it until you watch it like that.
Tbh what I like is how they didn’t portray Hannah as this ‘flawless victim’. Whilst she didn’t deserve what she got, she sometimes made things worse for herself, made impulsive decisions, and came across in general as a flawed but tragic character. None of these because she’s stupid or mean spirited, but rather because she’s flawed as all human beings are. It’s honest and I love it for that.
Also the theory is that Tyler actually shot Alex and it wasn’t a suicide attempt and that’s the reason he took his photo down. He’s either systematically killing those he has photos of, planning a school shooting, or a mixture both. Or Alex did attempt his own life and Tyler just took the photo down because he believed he no longer had to kill Tyler himself.
Yeah she was written very well. She could’ve very easily been made into a Mary Sue that was without fault. It hurts watching her do things that just pushed her down further. One thing that really resonated with me was the times she wanted Clay to stay even though she told him to leave or when Mr. Porter didn’t chase after her. Sometimes when you are in a terrible situation you just need someone else to take control even though you fight them back.. if that makes sense. It’s a terrible feeling that has no logic to it.
Wasn’t it Justin that suggested killing Clay and making it look like a suicide? That sure sounds like some foreshadowing to me.

I think my favourite games to replay are XY, but my fav games are still and always will be HGSS, however, Unova does have a wonderful replay value, I 100% agree

this is the same thing that happened with XY, people can deny it, but they were well received by a lot of people (and hated by some from the start) but as time went on and people played them more people began to dislike them, and I have said from day 1 that the same will happen of sun and moon, but people didn’t believe me. Its a cycle, Majoras Mask is a good example of this cycle of likes and dislikes for games (Ive always loved MM though)

I like the Pokemon from Kalos, I like the over idea of Kalos, but what I don’t like was that it was almost like Kanto in that it felt empty. The region itself isn’t bad, but it needed more color and people to really make you feel like your were somewhere special. Lumiose should have been packed with people walking all over the place, but instead it felt like an abandoned mall. Ironically the abandoned super market in SM is way more interesting than Lumiose

“The three Pokemon you choose allow you to use stronger magical spells affiliated with their types than you could on your own. Having more than three familiar Pokemon could be harmful to your body and mind.” Kuppo refuted.
“Right, but why do Pokemon have to be familiars? It just feels so convoluted, like fair enough some Pokemon can be kept as pets outside of Crystals, but couldn’t we like keep a few more Pokemon in something technological? I think three more to make like, six would be a good number.” Star continued.
Kuppo sighed. “Look, I’m not saying more Pokemon would be worse, but technology still isn’t as advanced as it would be without magic, and that requires us to use our own Infinity Energy to interact with and manipulate. Tech that stores Infinity Energy to function can’t run for too long, and utilising energy harvested from leaks from the Crystals which is considered heresy in at least half the world and is also expensive, and finally electric based technology is seen as inefficient compared to mag-”
To Seraph, Kuppo’s speech became white noise as he begun to speak to Kurusu.
“So buddy, Star tagged along because she has nothing to do over the summer, and Kuppo decided to wet towel me because apparently my goals are ‘unrealistic’ or ‘dangerous’ or some other Tauros shit. Why are you here?”
A few seconds of silence passed, with Kuppo’s speech and the clattering of the kitchen being the only ambience in the near empty restaurant.
The boy simply shrugged at his friend, and then turned back to the book in his hands, waiting for his food to come.
Seraph entertained himself by practicing his Aqua spell, channeling the energy from his Araquanid’s Summon Crystal.
Hydro magic allowed the caster to manipulate water in its liquid state. With his arachnid familiar, Seraph could manipulate small amounts of water masterfully or have a weak influence on a large body of water. Without his familiar, his magic was similar to the Jungle guild when it wasn’t news time: quiet and not very impressive besides the occasional nuggets of excellency.
Seraph had pulled a few small bubbles up above his glass when the arrival of his food cost him to accidently throw them up in glee. Droplets rained upon Kurusu, leading to Star to interrupt Kuppo’s still ongoing speech to make a joke about how Seraph getting others damp was a first, which was met by larger bubble hitting her squarely in the face.
After the meal had been finished, the party decided to have a conversation about how their magical abilities were developing.
“Hex is fine, Overlord is fine, Swarm is fine, but Combatant, Hydro and Growth are all subpar.” Seraph sighed, making the flowers on the table slightly perk to emphasise how weak his Grass – Affinity magic was.
Star stretched, before summoning a small wisp of white light in her right palm. “Charm is pretty strong, seeing as I’ve got two familiars for it. My Hydro’s better than Seraph’s, but my Mind and Summon magic aren’t doing so hot, and the less said about my Combatant the better…”
“Saboteur is great, but my Hydro, Cryo and Mineral abilities just aren’t good enough.” Kurusu added.
Finally, Kuppo told his friends of his capabilities. “Swarm. Electro. Hex. Pyro. Geo. Aero… They’re all just average, none good none bad.”
“You’ve definitely got it best, Kuppo”. Star stated. “Electro, Cryo, Geo, and Aero all allow you to manipulate raw elements, and Swarm lets you communicate with Bug Pokémon. Add in your Hexes and you’re a Jack of All Trades.”
Kuppo responded. “Whilst that may be true, your Charms are way stronger than my Hexes, and with your Hydro you’re also a force to be reckoned with on the elemental side too. True, your other magics need work, but you have two strong magic skills to last you until you improve.”
“I wish my Hydro could be as good as your’s Star.” Kurusu sighed.
“Hey, you’ll improve.” The girl smiled. She then smirked as she looked at Seraph. “Besides, you’re still better at it than Bubbles.”
A vein on Seraph’s head swelled with anger.
“I’m trying!”
“I know.” Star said. “But I feel like you’re forcing it because Araquanid is one of your familiars. You don’t have to use all of your familiars’ Type Magic, you could focus on ones you’re good at, like Hex.”
“I’m going to carry on learning Hydro for Araquanid, just like you’re learning Combatant for Lopunny. You struggle, but you don’t give up. Why should I?”
“That’s different!” Star exclaimed, raising herself up with her arms on the table. Her sudden adversity got her a few odd looks from some other restaurant patrons.
Seraph had flinched when Star moved, but snapped out of it with a retort. “How is it, Star!? The only difference is that I’m doing it for myself and you’re doing it for-”
“Seraph, Star, now isn’t the time to argue.” Kuppo calmly said.
The owner had approached the table, a portly yet proud man in an ebony suit. A Ribombee fluttered around him.
“Everything okay?” He asked, looking at Star.
“It’s fine, I was just about to leave and get us some rooms at the local inn whilst these guys enjoy some dessert.” She calmly clarified.
“But I don’t want desse-” Kurusu started, until a nudge from Kuppo and some daggers from Star caused him to go silent.
“Kuppo,” Star started, reaching into her pockets, producing a silvery note from her pocket. “Pay for me.”
After her friend had nodded, Star walked out of the restaurant, her gait betraying her calm facade.
Seraph’s eyes followed her until she exited, before meeting Kuppo’s.
“You need to apologise.” The boy stated.
Seraph sighed, knowing his friend was, as usual, right. But Star had genuinely upset him, and in Seraph’s opinion she should’ve known better.

Exactly. I feel like there is this sorta narrative for trans people that should really be gotten rid of.
It’s that story you hear where a boy grew up playing with dolls and make up and all that and always knew they were trans.
Which wasn’t me at all. I played with cars and trains and video games and I drew. Non considered especially “feminine” it took me a long time to know I was trans thus confusing the people around me who think that is how all transgender people are.
It also hurts boys that just like feminine things. Tough I’ve noticed that it’s a lot more acceptable for girls to play with “boy” toys
exactly I always cringe a little when I hear someone saying those things, like I’m happy you’re coming out, but you shouldn’t associate it with playing with dolls and such.
And sadly there is a problem where woman can wear and play with things that are socially seen as male things and no one bats an eye, but when it comes to men being interested in wearing feminine clothing or playing or doing things commonly associated with women, everyone freaks out, and I personally blame sexism, because society deems woman as inferior and like its some awful thing to like things that are geared towards women. Screw the patriarchy, this is why we need feminism.
And I think that some of transphobia roots back to sexism too. Because these cis heterosexual men see a transgirl and it just slaps their perception of gender in the face. What they see as a man becoming a woman makes no sense to them because why would a man want to become the “weaker sex”
They also fail to understand dysphoria and the trouble that faces trans people so they end up adding onto that with transphobia

Seraph. Kuppo. Kurusu. Star. The four had planned this moment for days, a perfect day witch an idyllic picnic with a healthy balance of carbohydrates, meats, vegetables, and desserts. But that all changed when the Fire – Type attacked.
Seraph smiled to himself as he blissfully munched on his cookies, unaware of the advancing feline behind him. By the time that Kuppo – who had been sat opposite him – even managed to muster up a warning, the boy was in the beast’s shadow.
He immediately jumped to his feet, scattering all of his delicious cookies to the floor as his head collided with his Hakamo-o’s cold, hard scales.
Seraph’s world went as black as his little edgelord soul wished to be.
~Line Break~
A gentle, caring breeze gently caressed Seraph’s face. It slowly awoke him, leaving the boy confused as he looked around the room he was in. His dorm room, which he shared with Kuppo.
His roommate rushed to his side as he let out a yawn.
“You okay?” Kuppo asked.
“Forget me! What about the cookies!?”
Kuppo grimly shook his head.
Seraph’s eyes began to well with the tears of a thousand emos. “My… my cookies… They were fresh… New to this world…”
Kuppo patted his friend’s back, and handed him a hot drink.
“I’m sure the Incineroar didn’t mean to scare you like tha-”
“THAT’S IT!” Seraph cried. “IT WAS THAT YAOI HANDED BASTARD THAT DID IT! I’LL DESTROY THAT INCINEROAR! DESTROY THEM ALL! I’LL KNOCK ‘EM DOWN FROM RARELY SEEN TO NEVER SEEN!”
Kuppo had nearly lunged to the other side of the small apartment-style dorm room in order to avoid the hot beverage Seraph and unceremoniously thrown to the floor. He murmured to himself.

“I’m just saying that with all the magical and technological advancements we should be able to have more than three Pokemon.” Star shrugged, her three Summon Crystals in hand, turning them over as she waited for her food to come. “I’d die for a Furret.”
“The three Pokemon you choose allow you to use stronger magical spells affiliated with their types than you could on your own. Having more than three familiar Pokemon could be harmful to your body and mind.” Kuppo refuted.
“Right, but why do Pokemon have to be familiars? It just feels so convoluted, like fair enough some Pokemon can be kept as pets outside of Crystals, but couldn’t we like keep a few more Pokemon in something technological? I think three more to make like, six would be a good number.” Star continued.
Kuppo sighed. “Look, I’m not saying more Pokemon would be worse, but technology still isn’t as advanced as it would be without magic, and that requires us to use our own Infinity Energy to interact with and manipulate. Tech that stores Infinity Energy to function can’t run for too long, and utilising energy harvested from leaks from the Crystals which is considered heresy in at least half the world and is also expensive, and finally electric based technology is seen as inefficient compared to mag-”
To Seraph, Kuppo’s speech became white noise as he begun to speak to Kurusu.
“So buddy, Star tagged along because she has nothing to do over the summer, and Kuppo decided to wet towel me because apparently my goals are ‘unrealistic’ or ‘dangerous’ or some other Tauros shit. Why are you here?”
A few seconds of silence passed, with Kuppo’s speech and the clattering of the kitchen being the only ambience in the near empty restaurant.
The boy simply shrugged at his friend, and then turned back to the book in his hands, waiting for his food to come.
Seraph entertained himself by practicing his Aqua spell, channeling the energy from his Araquanid’s Summon Crystal.
Hydro magic allowed the caster to manipulate water in its liquid state. With his arachnid familiar, Seraph could manipulate small amounts of water masterfully or have a weak influence on a large body of water. Without his familiar, his magic was similar to the Jungle guild when it wasn’t news time: quiet and not very impressive besides the occasional nuggets of excellency.
Seraph had pulled a few small bubbles up above his glass when the arrival of his food cost him to accidently throw them up in glee. Droplets rained upon Kurusu, leading to Star to interrupt Kuppo’s still ongoing speech to make a joke about how Seraph getting others damp was a first, which was met by larger bubble hitting her squarely in the face.
After the meal had been finished, the party decided to have a conversation about how their magical abilities were developing.
“Hex is fine, Overlord is fine, Swarm is fine, but Combatant, Hydro and Growth are all subpar.” Seraph sighed, making the flowers on the table slightly perk to emphasise how weak his Grass – Affinity magic was.
Star stretched, before summoning a small wisp of white light in her right palm. “Charm is pretty strong, seeing as I’ve got two familiars for it. My Hydro’s better than Seraph’s, but my Mind and Summon magic aren’t doing so hot, and the less said about my Combatant the better…”
“Saboteur is great, but my Hydro, Cryo and Mineral abilities just aren’t good enough.” Kurusu added.
Finally, Kuppo told his friends of his capabilities. “Swarm. Electro. Hex. Pyro. Geo. Aero… They’re all just average, none good none bad.”
“You’ve definitely got it best, Kuppo”. Star stated. “Electro, Cryo, Geo, and Aero all allow you to manipulate raw elements, and Swarm lets you communicate with Bug Pokémon. Add in your Hexes and you’re a Jack of All Trades.”
Kuppo responded. “Whilst that may be true, your Charms are way stronger than my Hexes, and with your Hydro you’re also a force to be reckoned with on the elemental side too. True, your other magics need work, but you have two strong magic skills to last you until you improve.”
“I wish my Hydro could be as good as your’s Star.” Kurusu sighed.
“Hey, you’ll improve.” The girl smiled. She then smirked as she looked at Seraph. “Besides, you’re still better at it than Bubbles.”
A vein on Seraph’s head swelled with anger.
“I’m trying!”
“I know.” Star said. “But I feel like you’re forcing it because Araquanid is one of your familiars. You don’t have to use all of your familiars’ Type Magic, you could focus on ones you’re good at, like Hex.”
“I’m going to carry on learning Hydro for Araquanid, just like you’re learning Combatant for Lopunny. You struggle, but you don’t give up. Why should I?”
“That’s different!” Star exclaimed, raising herself up with her arms on the table. Her sudden adversity got her a few odd looks from some other restaurant patrons.
Seraph had flinched when Star moved, but snapped out of it with a retort. “How is it, Star!? The only difference is that I’m doing it for myself and you’re doing it for-”
“Seraph, Star, now isn’t the time to argue.” Kuppo calmly said.
The owner had approached the table, a portly yet proud man in an ebony suit. A Ribombee fluttered around him.
“Everything okay?” He asked, looking at Star.
“It’s fine, I was just about to leave and get us some rooms at the local inn whilst these guys enjoy some dessert.” She calmly clarified.
“But I don’t want desse-” Kurusu started, until a nudge from Kuppo and some daggers from Star caused him to go silent.
“Kuppo,” Star started, reaching into her pockets, producing a silvery note from her pocket. “Pay for me.”
After her friend had nodded, Star walked out of the restaurant, her gait betraying her calm facade.
Seraph’s eyes followed her until she exited, before meeting Kuppo’s.
“You need to apologise.” The boy stated.
Seraph sighed, knowing his friend was, as usual, right. But Star had genuinely upset him, and in Seraph’s opinion should’ve known better.

It has a rough time with anything that resists water (especially if they’re physically bulky) and considering how low its HP stat its great defense stats aren’t nearly as bulky as it needs to be. It’s also dreadfully slow and doesn’t have the best coverage, especially since its coverage and Bug STAB aren’t exactly that strong either
But here’s the thing
RU -C? The lowest rank in the tier?
It literally kills half the tier, resists another half, and has a lot of really strong match ups. I can see it not being A or S but bottom tier RU? That’s a bit much…. Plus, it beats a lot of key Ru threats like Reuniclus, Cress, Shaymin, Salazzle, and Venusaur. I would at least push for B

Tapu Lele has amazing offense stats and doesn’t rely on its ability to make one STAB good (although it does become a psychic nuke thanks to terrain), meaning it can dish out four different types offense wise whereas Araquanid can only do one (Leech Life is only good on the physically frail or those weak to it anyway)
Yeah but still, water hits most mons in the tier outside of Mantine and Toxacroak
And Mirror coat basically lets it insta-kill some mons, it’s an extremely effective trap
Though giving it some thought, the validity list isn’t even that accurate yet considering a few other things…. like how only one person can edit the list atm
If they know you’ve got Mirror Move it immediately decreases in usefulness because they know to avoid it
And the thing is Tine and Croak are hard counters, which is probably why it’s so low. Not much Pokémon have such heavy counters in the same tier as them, yet Araquanid has two.
Yeah but Toxacroak literally never comes up…
And certain mons are forced to attack special, so it forces switches which are quite scary against Araq

That’s not how a power creep works. It means that the tiers are still what they used to be, it’s just that the Pokemon have moved due to an increase in the power ceiling without a raise of the power floor

That leaves the Sinnoh, Hoenn, Kanto and Kalos.
Kalos starters were obtainable in the main story of Kalos, as were the Kanto starters. The Hoenn starters have the same treatment in OR AS.
The Sinnoh, Unova and Johto starters are in ORAS too as post game rewards. But why aren’t the Sinnoh starters in SuMo too then?

1. In the GameXplain preview they mentioned an enemy that would sense you from far away and hunt you down. Yet I haven’t found any such enemy, were they wrong or am I missing something?

I think that particular one is on the road east of the Highland Stable (the one near Lake tower). Follow the pah that keeps going east across a river, into an area south of Faron Grasslands. It should be near the bend before the river. Otherwise there’s a bunch of them around. They’re called Stalnox. One of them is in Hyrule Castle for sure.

The Battle Pike
Inspired by the Hoenn Region’s very own Battle Pike, the Battle Pike makes a stunning revival here in the Incrum Region! Go through a series of twists and turns all which test your luck and your ability to adapt when the cards are not in your favor.
The Battle Tower
Similar to all other Battle Frontiers, the Incrum Region Battle Frontier is a facility where trainers partake in standard battles in their quest to reach the top of the tower and battle the Frontier Brain. Unlike other Battle Towers, this one seems to have a fair bit of nature involved.
The Battle Factory
Another ubiquitous staple of the Battle Frontier and a favorite for newcomers, trainers of all skill levels get a team of three rental Pokemon and battle it out in the hope of taking down the frontier Brain. After a Battle you may switch Pokemon with your opponent and keep on battling. Be warned, later levels of the facility are known for being especially challenging.
The Battle Trench
This underwater Battle Facility is known for being rather strange, even when compared to the other facilities. Your goal is to reach the bottom of the Trench to face the Frontier Brain while fighting off trainers and wild Pokemon, but you also can get various rewards while doing so, ranging from items, accessibility to ride Pokemon, and even Pokeballs to catch a temporary member for your team in this challenge! The battles get pretty tense, so be prepared to handle the pressure.
The Battle Labyrinth
Welcome to perhaps the most demanding challenge of them all, the Battle Labyrinth. Explore the facility and defeat trainers to earn the pieces you need to fill out a map in order to locate your way to the next area. Once you do this three times, you will fight the Frontier Brain of the Labyrinth! But be warned, get lost and terrible things will happen…
The Battle Shuttle
This space themed facilities loops around the stars (sort of) in an intergalactic tour of a lifetime! Sponsored by a rich Undella town man with more money than he knew what to do with, the shuttle flies about at high speeds holding twenty two people (Including yourself) on the ship! You must beat all of them before fighting the frontier brain who rides this shuttle. Rumor has it that Celestial types and airborne Pokemon have an interesting time here… Are you prepared for liftoff?
The Battle Circus
Possibly the largest of all the facilities, trainers enter with the goal of beating the Frontier Brain Ringmaster at the end of the Circus show. Before doing this, one must take down the seven specialists of the circus themselves, but to even get to them one must win against some of the audience members who are willing to battle you. The battles have their own unique traits that you can utilize or be hindered by. You never know what will happen in the Battle Circus!

To be fair, I’ve never seen Barbarella, but you have a point. And I see Uhura as more of paving the way for black people (especially women) on tv. She never really got in on much of the action, as great as she was.
Most of the Doctor’s female compains predate alien too, and some of them were quite active in the plot (not gunning down aliens active, but still driving plot). In particular, Sarah Jane Smith was very assertive and intelligent (among other beneficial qualities).
People probably wouldn’t count Barbarella because it was more of a spoof than genuine (I’d dare say it was almost like a scifi carry-on film). But Barbarella was indeed the heroine (again, no firing guns like mad because it was the 60s)

These days people like to complain for the sake of complaining or to find sexism in places where it can be more logically attributed to something more benign.
The main reason I hate the ‘strong woman’ cliché is because people like complaining there aren’t any ‘strong women’, but if they bothered to open their eyes they’d see (as you pointed out) there’s plenty. In fact I struggle to find characters I’d describe as ‘weak women’ (except maybe background/secondary characters, which tend to be that way anyway). Eh, maybe my definition is just broader than everyone else’s.
I just want diversity. Less brown haired strong white guys in everything and more POC, women, and LGBT characters. The white straight guy shouldn’t be considered “default” ya know

White’s only the default in countries where it’s the majority. In some countries (e.g. India) they have almost no white people in their homegrown tv programmes.

That’s absolutely true, but as far as I know those people weren’t trying to make money or anything. They need to refocus their efforts, big time. Fans that make project out of love for Nintendo’s games get targeted while I’ve been getting the same YouTube ad for a mobile game that literally just takes BotW footage and markets it as their own game. Not to mention the countless Pokemon rip offs that actually try to make money off of the series. While fans get targeted, there are people actually directly copying Nintendo’s stuff and making money off of it.

I want to get into Steven Universe, but every time I try and watch when it’s not just on TV I can’t seem to get through it. Part of me wants to just watch all the heavy plot relevant episodes, but another part of me says that many times it’s the down episodes that give the characters life. Having both serious and non serious times makes the worlds of series feels more tangible. Problem is that I inevitably end up running into a number of episodes I’ve already seen in passing and have no interest in watching again…….Maybe I’m just being too picky lol

I feel you on that. I was just going to watch the plot-relevant noes, but I committed myself to watching every episode. The only way I got to where I was now was just by binge watching the show post-surgery (while high on oxy) about 2 years ago. The downside is I don’t remember a ton of details.
It’s also hard to remember plot details when there’s so much filler 😛 That’s a problem I have with most animated shows
Exactly. Filler is fine when you’re watching it as it happens, but having to go back and watch the show now that they’re past those episodes is a hard pill to swallow

Who is hyped for SU? This is the one show that I’m a fanboy of. I mean I know that’s incredibly dumb but this is the only show I can’t see any flaws how hard I wouldn’t try.
My flaw with it is that Peridot & Lapis almost never get anything to do anymore
The flaws are they keep introducing characters that get poor development and the crystal gems have been neglected for like a whole season
Also Garnet doesn’t really get focus episodes besides those about fusion anymore
Not to mention inconsistent art, colors and heights that wouldn’t be acceptable in any animated show
I don’t want to start a flame war, but how exactly is that a flaw?
Because it’s unprofessional. Especially considering how simplistic SU’s style is, stuff like this shouldn’t happen in a show made by professional artists who draw for a living

It’s completely different.
Even shows like King of the Hill, and Avatar the Last Airbender with detailed styles manage to stay on model. Even adventure time stays on model more
It’s drawn and storyboarded (is that a word?) by diffrent people with diffrent art styles. It gives it a charm.
Which is why shows use model sheets. They keep it consistant and they use height charts so characters are al the same height throughout episodes.
Steven Universe does non of it. Peridot loosing height like that is unacceptable. These are artists who went to art school and are making the most popular animated show on television. I expect more from them.
