RUMOR: Nintendo Developing Handheld-Only Switch Mini?

The Nintendo Switch is a hot commodity and has exceeded sales expectations across the board. Bloomberg has published speculation by analysts that a new variation of the home console could remove the docking feature and solely be a handheld gaming device.

Citigroup Inc. […] expect the Kyoto-based company to release a smaller version of the Switch in the fiscal year through March 2019, according to analysts including Minami Munakata, Kota Ezawa and Alicia Yap. — Via Bloomberg

Interesting speculation which may mean a lot for Pokémon fans if a main franchise title does indeed end up on the Nintendo Switch.

If there were a handheld-only version though, would it defeat the purpose of the “Switch”? Weigh in below!

  1. Pokedex Entry: 54
    Bunball
    Classification: The Snowball Rabbit Pokemon
    Height: 0’08
    Weight: 3.1 Lbs
    Type: Ice/Normal
Ability: Snow Cloak/Slush Rush (Hidden Ability: Cute Charm)
    Stats:
    HP: 20
    Attack: 60
    Defense: 20
    Special Attack: 20
    Special Defense: 20
    Speed: 100
    Base Stat Total: 240
Pokedex Entry: By gathering into large groups, they try to mimic the look of snow piles. They are mostly helpless and are frequently preyed on by many different other Pokemon. Bunball is a frequent pet for people in the Incrum region. Supposedly more of them exist in captivity than in the wild due to the mass amount of people who have bred them.

    Classification: The Bouncing Snowball Pokemon
    Height: 1’08
    Weight: 9.2 Lbs
    Type: Ice/Normal
Ability: Snow Cloak/Slush Rush (Hidden Ability: Cute Charm)
    Stats:
    HP: 50

    Defense: 50
    Special Attack: 70
    Special Defense: 50
    Speed: 130
    Base Stat Total: 450
Pokedex Entry: Upon evolving, this Pokemon became a small bit larger and a lot faster. Due to their pudgy shape, they are frequently mistaken for snowballs. This is only emphasized by their tendency to rapidly fling themselves at their foes similar to the way a snowball is thrown. Weirdly enough, they are extremely bouncy. Once they begin bouncing, it is almost impossible for them to start doing so.

It absolutely sucks but is absolutely adorable

  2. I hope that the Virtual Console line up starts out good. Earthbound and Super Metroid are the two I really want to play on the go (I know they are on the N3DS but I’m not replacing my Xerneas Yveltal 3DSXL)

    Mega Lycanroc (Midday)
    Classification: The Wolf Pokemon
    Height: 2’07

    Type: Rock
    Ability: Strong Jaw
    Stats:
    HP: 75

    Defense: 75
    Special Attack: 55
    Special Defense: 65
    Speed: 162
    Base Stat Total: 587
Pokedex Entry: Upon Mega Evolving, this Lycanroc became much faster than it had been before. Its teeth have gotten much stronger and it is able to bite through the toughest of substances. It becomes even more loyal to its trainer and will defend the trainer until its death. Contrary this, there are records of Mega Midday Lycanrocs losing control in battle and going berserk. This is likely due to the overflow of energy the Pokemon acquires when mega evolving,

    Mega Lycanroc (Midnight)
    Classification: The Wolf Pokemon
    Height: 3’07
    Weight: 55.1
    Type: Rock
    Ability: Battle Hungry

    Special Attack: 55
    Special Defense: 105
    Speed: 82
    Base Stat Total: 587
Pokedex Entry: Upon Mega Evolving, the passion it had for battle increases tenfold. Its new form focuses on taking more hits and dishing back even harder ones than before. Although it keeps the unruly personality it had before, its attacks are much more coordinated. It shows no respect for its foe unless they have proven their strength to it. When it respects an opponent, it fights to its true potential. If its trainer has earned its respect, it will always fight at full force.

    Noivern —> Mega Noivern
    Classification: The Sound Wave Pokemon
    Height: 6’08
    Weight: 231.6 Lbs
    Type: Flying/Dragon
    Ability: Deafening Echo
    Stats:
    HP: 85

    Defense: 80
    Special Attack: 147
    Special Defense: 80
    Speed: 173
    Base Stat Total: 635
Pokedex Entry: Upon Mega Evolving, the loudness of its attacks has nearly tripled. It is said the intense sound it creates can make a person 15 miles away deaf after mere minutes. This Pokemon tends to lurk inside of caves and rarely tends to leave. Approaching it in this state is highly discouraged, as the echos of its cries are extraordinarily dangerous to people. One that is trained can aim the sound at precise areas in opposition to broad ranges to avoid injuring its trainer.

Deafening Echo: This Pokémon gains a 2.0x boost to sound related moves. If any sort of trapping move has been used, the move does 2.5x the damage it normally does.

    Pokedex Entry: 22
Mr. Mime —> Mega Mr. Mime
    Classification: Barrier Pokemon
    Height: 4’05
    Weight: 125.2 Lbs
    Type: Psychic/Fairy

    Defense: 85
    Special Attack: 130
    Special Defense: 130
    Speed: 130
    Base Stats: 560
Pokedex Entry: After going through extensive training, Mr. Mime has greatly improved the efficiency and sturdiness of its barriers. If it were to wrap itself in the barriers, they would be strong enough to resist the force of a bomb exploding directly on top of it. Additonally, it can power up its attacks by firing them through the barrier. When it does this, the attacks gain energy from the barrier and impact with much more force than normal.

Refractor: The pokemon’s special attacks do 2.0 times as much damage if Reflect, Aurora Veil, or Barrier is in place for it.

Pokedex Entry: Despite being made of the same metal as a normal Bronzor, for some reason it is somewhat see through and can show reflections in the same way water does. The reason for this odd occurrence has not yet been explained but is being studied for possible scientific use. The reason for its type chance lies within a trait possessed by its evolution, Bronzong.

Pokedex Entry: Although its normal form is known for being a raincaller of ancient past, this version is specialized toward performing this task. It is usually found in caves and is most commonly brought to more arid towns to provide them rain. This Pokemon’s power can be potentially deadly to people if overused. There is record of a specific incident where its power was used so much that it created a never ending rainstorm which flooded an entire town. The whereabouts of this town today are unknown.

  6. One more fanmon after this one. Lemme just say this… this next one ….. is a very competitive mon… one that you would absolutely HATE to see on the other team.
But for now, here is the rock type of the region, aka @BigGuyI:disqus might like this

Pokedex Entry: This Pokemon is extremely courageous for its size and is frequently seen exploring every nook and cranny of its surroundings. Its preferred strategy is to withstand attacks until it sees an open area to attack; it does with extreme force. When it battles, the rocky spikes on its back grow in size depending on how much danger it is in. It may discard a spike if it grows too large by shooting it out like a torpedo.

    Base Stat Total: 430
Pokedex Entry: Upon evolving, it tends to pick an area of its cave and stays there. It slowly digs through this part of the cave in order to make itself an area to reside in. It is said to evolve once it finishes digging out this area. If threatened, it will violently swing its tail at the threat to swat it away. It will never pursue this threat unless it damages the den it is making. If this happens, it will chase the foe relentlessly.

Pokedex Entry: While it is unclear what this pokemon is, it is clearly synthetic. The flask surrounding it isn’t the pokemon; the liquid inside is. The flesh-like ribbon tail that pokes out of it tends to be used like an arm in order to perform tasks. Although many of them exist, many people frown upon its existence due to rumors that float about regarding the less ethical parts of its creation.

Pokedex Entry: In an unexpected turn of events, this Pokemon ended up evolving without any assistance even though it was entirely synthetic. This led scientists to believe that the pokemon is more alive than was first hypothesized. It seems to even be forming a mind of its own at this stage. When it begins to bubble, it signals that the Pokemon senses a threat nearby. It now has four ribbons instead of the one from its previous form. It uses these to do various tasks.

    Special Defense: 100

    Base Stat Total: 475
Pokedex Entry: Upon evolving, its ribbons began to change appearance and become much more nimble. They seem to closely resemble the ribbons belonging to Sylveon. This resemblance it has created a lot of controversy regarding what the Pokemon actually is. Its entire mindset seems to be focused around the task of protecting everything around it. It can fire bits of itself at the enemy to poison them or at its allies to heal them.
Evolves: From Pokemon Amie Affection followed by a level up.

Guardian Angel: If fainted, this pokemon fully heals the next pokemon sent out by the user. (Basically auto Healing Wish when it dies)

  11. Heres a teaser for another fanmon I’m making. This one is rather important and it belongs to an admin of an evil team. Enjoy the sinister little birdy

Pokedex Entry: One day this Pokemon settled outside a rather barren town. When the people saw it arrive, they began to worship it, mistaking it for a bird deity of sorts. They would slaughter livestock and bring it to the Pokemon in order to sate its hunger. When they began to realize that this Pokemon was not the deity they once thought it was, they began to stop bringing it food. A few days after this happened, the town entire town was reduced to rubble.

It resembles a Peacock but is made entirely out of Stone. Its tail is colored with thousands of different glowing gems that give it a rainbow color. This tail changes color depending on the type of attack it uses.

Prismimic: After attacking with the move Power Gem, this Pokemon will use it again but it will be changed to the type that damages the foe most. Additionally, it’s psychic type will morph into that type.
