RUMOR: Nintendo Developing Handheld-Only Switch Mini?

The Nintendo Switch is a hot commodity and has exceeded sales expectations across the board. Bloomberg has published speculation by analysts that a new variation of the home console could remove the docking feature and solely be a handheld gaming device.

Citigroup Inc. […] expect the Kyoto-based company to release a smaller version of the Switch in the fiscal year through March 2019, according to analysts including Minami Munakata, Kota Ezawa and Alicia Yap. — Via Bloomberg

Interesting speculation which may mean a lot for Pokémon fans if a main franchise title does indeed end up on the Nintendo Switch.

If there were a handheld-only version though, would it defeat the purpose of the “Switch”? Weigh in below!

    • Can’t believe in a Gen it went from:

X: ‘It sends a soothing aura from its ribbonlike feelers to calm fights.”

      To

Sun: “Its ribbonlike feelers give off an aura that weakens hostility in its prey, causing them to let down their guard. Then it attacks.”

so what are you flapping anuses up to this lovely spring afternoon?

        • Basically it’s set in an urban fantasy setting, modern cities powered by magic and machine, loving along side different humanoid races whilst simultaneously having everyday occurrences like shopping, gaming, etc

The jobs in the game are the only thing I’ve started planning, and they’re so far

Chef – Physical attackers who focus on buffing and debuffing, as well as arming themselves with the elements, rather than sheer force.

Authors – Those who’s writings are imbued with magic, releasing their violent urges through forceful offense magic. As well as this, they have dark, ice, fire and electricity based spells.

Actors – Unleash their magic through performance, dramatic supports who whilst in the limelight offer their comrades much needed help. Can heal, but also have earth, water, air and light spells.

Fortune Tellers – Can use their psychic powers to call forth the thirteen mythical Zodiac Beasts to either deal elemental damages

          • Posted before I was finished.

Fortune tellers can also summon to create buffs for allies. These are the only four I have now, but a few more are planned

          • love it, you need a few more physical attackers
            sounds like
            Chef Warrior
            Author Ranger
            Fortune Tellers Mage
            Actor Cleric

you should kinda limit the class roles so that they don’t duplicate

          • It’s meant to be

Chef – Spell Fencer (You’re half right)
Fortune Tellers – Summoner (Basically just a spin off of mage)
Actor – White Mage (Basically a cleric)
            Author – Black Mage (Mage)

You got pretty close so I’m happy that my descriptions are okay, and I’m definitely adding some more physical classes. I’m thinking Fireman (Heaaaavy hitters with low dexterity), Policemen (basically the Warrior class), Paramedic (focuses on healing single targets without magic, but also physically strong), and Thief (self explanatory)

          • They’re based off of Finnal Fantasy-esque classes, rather than say MMORPG-esque classes

          • Basically:

            Black Mage – Mage
            White Mage – Cleric
Summoner – High Damage, High Consumption Mage
Spell Fencer – Warrior that adds effects to their attacks

          • As long as i can swing a big fucking hammer at crap and possibly something on the ling of a rivet gun

          • Don’t think there’ll be rivet guns (and this likely won’t make it off paper but I might make it a tabletop to use with friends) but there’ll definitely be guns as a variation on bow and arrow

          • Big fucking hammers are my stable

funny story, when i started Warcraft nearly 8 years exactly, i only chose Paladin because it started with a Hammer (or Tauren Warrior, but i knew in my heart i’m a Dwarf)

            but now that i’m a phat D&D nerd i should’ve re-rolled a Shaman

  2. Yo decided to share these RPG classes and their skill sets, they have thirty learnable skills each. All of them have ‘Status Skills’ empty and only twenty five skills because I only recently nudged the skill number up and split aspect and status.

Aspect = Additions to characters that don’t directly effect their base stats (making their attacks fire based, giving them heals over time, making them endure an attack)

Status = Character conditions (Poison, paralysis, burning, frozen, etc)

          • y’know like a Shaman or a Primalist
            using elemental magic
            Fire to damage
            Water to Heal
            Wind and Earth to buff

          • Hmm, that’s kinda my summoner a bit? Like they can use all eight of my elements (classic four, lighting, ice, dark, light) in the following six ways:

            -Neutral Damage
            -Physical Damage
            -Magic Damage
            -Elemental Resistance
            -Elemental Amplification
            -Elemental Priority

Barbarians will be construction workers, monk may be an actual fighting career (like boxer or wrestler)

          • well a summoner would y’know summon monsters and familiars to fight (unless they summon Elementals Fire burst Damage, Water Healer, Wind AOE, Earth Tank)
an Elementalist is just a less flashy mage

      • I’m thinking of a Red Mage career, as well as a Blue Mage one, but for the life of me can’t figure where to go for a Ninja

Dragoon is going to be acrobat, Red Mage may be dancer, and Blue Mage will be mimes. Also thinking about firemen, builders, police and thieves.

  3. Here’s the final evolution to Punet:

    Thalasset
    The Myth Pokemon
    Type: Water/Dragon
    Ability: Pressure/Storm Drain
    Height: 38′ 01″
    Weight: 889 lbs
    Stats:
    (HP) 135
    (ATK) 67
    (DEF) 101
    (SP ATK) 110
    (SP DEF) 95
    (SPD) 32
    (Total) 540
Dex Entry: Very few reports have witnessed Thalasset in the wild, so its often pondered whether or not it is a legendary because of it’s rarity. However, ancient scrolls claim that if one recognizes and values a Punet with compassion, they will find themselves with a Thalasset that will give its life for its master.

    Signature Move: Tidal Wave
    Water
    Special
    Power: 105
    Accuracy: 80%
    PP: 10
The user summons the power of the ocean and creates a massive tidal wave, consuming all of its target in water. All hazards on Thalasset’s side will be either removed or pushed to the enemy’s side.

  5. What typing would a Pug Pokemon be? (assuming it wouldn’t be pure Normal) I’d say it would be a Fairy to Dark/Fairy or Normal to Normal/Dragon two-stager.

  6. Rotom Wash/Heat is such a fun mon. It’s too bad this gen it hasnt seen the light of day like gen 5 and 6. Honestly if Rotom Dex was a useable mon what type would it be? What it’s signature move be? What new rotom forms can you cme up with

          • Mines was quiet and pretty much tanked and destroyed

It’s weird because it’s tankier and physically stronger than Deci

          • I mean, I think part of the reason is because Deci’s Z move is god tier
Plus, Sprit shackle was basically spam central
And that all the battles that give Deci trouble I found easy

          • Incineroar’s Z-Move and signature are pretty much the exact same tho, Ghost and dark have near identical attack qualities and I’m sure they’re the same base power

          • The discrepancies in resistance are what really make a difference (Eyy it rhymed)
Also, Deci just had so much coverage, grass ghost flying is pretty noice

          • Idk, the only difference is Dark is resisted by two types more than Ghost but Ghost is ineffective on Normal, and Incineroar has the arguably superior options of Fire/Dragon/Dark, Fire/Fighting/Dark, and Fire/Ground/Dark

It’s probably because we’re both biased tbh, that and/or IVs

          • We’re both biased XD
No but seriously, Deci does have better coverage options, I’m fully admitting that if Deci was a grass/flying type with no ghost, it would be Ru or lower. Physical ghost moves are literally what make it good

          • Idk, I’d say the moment Incineroar gets EQ they’re pretty much equal because Earthquake can literally be slapped on anything physical and work

          • I mean here’s the thing
Flying and ghost literally hit everything…. and grass patches up the stuff it doesn’t hit
Literally Dark/steel is the only type it is unable to hit on a frequent basis
I can see Incineroar’s appeal, but it’s coverage choices don’t strike me as appealing as Decis
Plus, I’m pretty sure Deci has more stab coverage, which is kinda huge

  10. Well you know how some evil characters in Pokemon have a Pokemon LITERALLY DESIGNED to be their signature?
Well a certain member has a job; if anyone blabs about what they do or backstabs the team behind the scenes, they’re never heard from again. This person has a rather large ego too…
For an egotistical and menacing figure, a mon like this seems to fit them quite well)

    Pokedex Entry: 63
    Macondor
    Classification: The Great Condor Pokemon
    Height: 12’3

    Base Stat Total: 545
Pokedex Entry: One day this Pokemon settled outside a rather barren town. When the people saw it arrive, they began to worship it, mistaking it for a bird deity of sorts. They would slaughter livestock and bring it to the Pokemon in order to sate its hunger. When they began to wisen up to the fact that this Pokemon was not the deity they once thought, they began to stop bringing it food. A few days after this happened, the town was reduced to rubble.
