Pokémon GO Easter Event Announced

The rumors are true, Pokémon GO will be hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza Event!

From 1:00pm PST today until 1:00pm PST on April 20th, trainers will be able to take advantage of the following benefits:

  • Double EXP
  • Greater variety of Pokémon hatching from 2km eggs
  • Increased candy quanity for egg hatchs
  • 50% off on Lucky Eggs in the in-game shop

No word yet if the new Pokémon added to the 2km egg group will be brought down from the 5km and 10km groups, or if they’re simply Pokémon that usually cannot be hatched from eggs at all. For the official press release you can visit Niantic’s official blog!

  2. I’ve been playing Zelda for 4 hours straight… wow.

I did a lot in those four hours, I had a Beach Adventure and found a girl in love with the orb thing so…there’s that.

I started towards finding Robbie and on the way found he citadel which made me love my Sheikah Armor even more for the stealth. I captured the tower and got a couple rad weapons.

Then I found another Great Fairy but I was only able to upgrade my mask. I need more fireflies for the other prices 😛 I really like the Great Fairy fountains though. So pretty.

So now I found this swirly place where I need to carry an orb to the center and of course it starts raining. And OF COURSE I only have metal bows so I got struck my lightning and had to start over so I’m going to finish that tomorrow.

I love this game so much. It is what an open world game should be.

    • I also found the best horse ever. I named her Coolie but I had to abandon her because she was super far from where I needed to be and she couldn’t exactly handle mountains well

      • If you managed to get your horse to a stable at any point, you can always summon it from any stable. Just something to say if you didn’t know. I pretty much had one horse through the entire game and abandoned it for like 20 hours until I found out that I could summon it from a stable by accident.

These days alone, I generated close to $36,000 until now with no more than my home computer as well as some spare time, despite that i have a fulltime 9 to 5 job. Even everyone not used to this, can make $89/per h easily and the earnings can go even higher over time… This is how i started

  4. Anyone want to have a Wifi match in SM? I really want to test my Shinies. Trust me this is a really informal match, I will probably lose. Just bringing 6 random pokemon together.

          • I just think it’s weird to not nickname Pokémon because they’re practically pets, but tbh I can see why people wouldn’t nickname

Although I don’t nickname legendaries, except from my Cosmog line: Nebby, Nebby, Nebby Jr. and Nebby III

          • I find I go off of nicknames and don’t want to be stuck with one if I have transferred it to another game. I feel close enough to my Pokemon with the names they already have. Plus I like it when they evolve and are like “now you must know me by this name”.

          • It’s interesting to see other people’s thoughts about such an obscure thing tbh, I can totally see where you’re coming from because I have tons of nicknames I regret XD

          • It’s worse when you took ages getting the ‘mon only to name it something you think is cool at the time but then learn it’s something completely different later. Like if you named it something in another language but got its meaning wrong.

          • Oh God, it’s like the video game version of people who get incorrect Chinese tattoos

At least you don’t have to live with the Pokemon forever tho

          • Well you can get cover ups and laser removal but those can be expensive. No way of doing that for Pokemon names.

  5. It’s completely Pokemon unrelated and I’m literally just trying to strike up conversation, but is it weird that I thought pugs were bred to look like the more expensive French bulldog when they’re actually non-related? As in, pugs are from Asia and Frenchies are from western Europe?

  7. Anyone else wish we had a False Swipe variant that isn’t Normal? Like a Dark one called ‘Mocking/Teasing/etc Something’ and then a Fighting one with ‘Mercy’ in the name

  8. GG @Monkeyfuzz:disqus That fire Blast miss cost you the game. That really Sucks, but I really appreciate the battle! Let’s do it again some time!

  9. New Fakemon idea!

    Makout
    The Rapid Pokémon
    Type: Fighting/Dark
    Ability: Iron Fist
    Height: 2’09”
    Weight: 84 lbs
    Color: Blue
Dex Entry: One of the sea’s deadliest Pokémon, Makout display a very aggressive disposition. They hide in the sand and then brutally attack using fast but deadly punches. They attack not only their prey, but also Pokémon that are passive and have inflicted no harmful intentions.

Inspiration: Makout is based on the Mantis Shrimp

Name origin: Makout is a pun on the term ‘Knock Out’, with the first part of its name being a corruption of Mach (rhyming with Knock), and Out.

  10. I hate to say it, but I think this year will not have a pokemon game. It’s already April and nothing announced. This year will be become free. What do you guys think?

    Reply
    • Mmm, hard to say tbh. Remakes and third version/sequels iirc have had shorter release cycles so it being announced now or next month and still being released this year would be be hugely shocking to me, but at the same time a free year also wouldn’t surprise me. We just came off a free year, and it’s odd that they’d put Marshadow out already in a free year since it’ll leave the next game without a mythical, unless the Gen 7.5 theory is real (when imo it’ll probably end up like Gen 6.5)

    • They announced ORAS in May so I wouldn’t be too sure. Most secondary games (i.e. BW2, ORAS) don’t need the same amount of months to advertise. If a game comes out this year it’ll likely follow the same path the last few games have and be out in November. So I’d say if May comes and goes only then can we say that it’s unlikely a game will come out.
