Pokémon GO Easter Event Announced

The rumors are true, Pokémon GO will be hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza Event!

From 1:00pm PST today until 1:00pm PST on April 20th, trainers will be able to take advantage of the following benefits:

  • Double EXP
  • Greater variety of Pokémon hatching from 2km eggs
  • Increased candy quanity for egg hatchs
  • 50% off on Lucky Eggs in the in-game shop

No word yet if the new Pokémon added to the 2km egg group will be brought down from the 5km and 10km groups, or if they’re simply Pokémon that usually cannot be hatched from eggs at all. For the official press release you can visit Niantic’s official blog!

    • I gain elemental powers
      My weakness? It’s me, I’d accidentally kill myself with them after around five minutes

    • easy elemental manipulation, specifically earth
      -Must be physically touching the ground or at least a meter away from minerals (does not need to be barefoot)
      -large masses and shapes require more concentration (especially sand and gravel)
      -Elemental exoskeleton may crush my body from hard impacts
      -prolonged use will cause strain on not only my body but mind
      -(not really a weakness but a factor) all of my powers must be from existing sources and i doubt people would be too thrilled with me uprooting larges chunks of land from their property, and a urban city may leave me without ammo
      -lastly my greater attacks are extremely dangerous and could not be stopped on a whim AKA tremors and lava flows, a single quake could set off a chain reaction that could level everything and i could be powerless to stop it

    • Alright:
      For my light manipulation ability, the setback is the power can go so long without access to a light source. So if I was in a cave or a enclosed area lacking light, the power would slowly deplete, and it would be necessary for me to “refill” my power.

        • Well, if we’re going off of rl logic, darkness is merely the absence of light: it’d merely just not fill his powers

          • when i hear the word Light and superpower usually that means people must have to stay illuminated to use it and they’re more vulnerable to shadow based attacks and that eventually left in the darkness will either kill them or corrupt them

  8. Hey so I found out something else interesting about Necrozma.

    So apparently at level 1, it can learn Metal Claw and Confusion, which, when looking at Solgaleo and Lunala’s movesets, Solgaleo learns Metal Claw at level 1 while Lunala learns Confusion at the same level.

    Ontop of that, at level 73, Solgaleo and Lunala learn powerful recharge moves, Giga Impact and Hyper Beam respectively. Who else learns a recharge move? Necrozma, at that same level with Prismatic Laser, which has 10 BP more in Power.

    I guess this is a fun fact of the day :p

  10. Does anyone feel like an inspiration to Necrozma is Pluto? I’m thinking it was because the UBs seem very inspired by the planets imo.

      • Ehhh I guess it could work, based on a shooting star (which aren’t really stars) explaining the star on it

        But at the same time the Pluto theory forms a really cool meta joke. Pluto isn’t considered a planet, and Necrozma may or may not be an Ultra Beast. Also, Necrozma is made of crystals (Pluto in Roman mythology is the God of the earth’s riches) and its name contains Necro, and Pluto (or at least, his Greek counterpart, Hades) is the God of the Afterlife

      • Maybe, but I thought Pluto was one because of how the similarities in which Necrozma looks like an UB seems to fit how Pluto was mistaken as a planet.

      • Yeah I know, the beginning and end of the year is crazy for games (even without a new hardware launch). I have some new Amazon money and I’d like to invest in some 4-player Switch fun while I can. For some reason the red and blue ones are sold out all the time, and I actually like these ones better color-wise.

      7Am-7:45Am, I wake up I have a Monotype, OU, and RU Showdown
      8Am, I Splatoon
      8:30Am, after feeding the dogs I log into wow and do daily quests
      (Judging if I’m not working)
      Anywhere between 10:30Am to 2:45Pm Showdown mostly OU and UU
      Then I go back to Wow and level lags and run a dungeon or two
      Yooka-Laylee for at least an hour
      Then Splatoon for 15-30mins depending on the map
      Then random ROMS, Smash or MK8
      And before I go to bed I do a few Random battles or Challenge cups

      • I wish I had that much time to create a schedule like you do. In my dreams I would love to balance the relaxation which is currently so necessary to me with getting through my expanding backlog. The 80 hours I have spent on Breath of the Wild so far is actually a pretty big achievement for me, which is sad to say, considering I spent 250+ hours on Pokémon X just a few years ago. Life is hard.
