Release of SM2 Brings Some Amazing Cards

Recently we got a peek at the cards in the newly released Japanese set, SM2. I’m sure most of you have seen at least a few of these by now, but a brand new set warrants another look. I will include a few in the article here from various Twitter posts and if you’d like to see them all, there will be a video at the bottom of the article that has everything else that has been released.

We don’t know what exactly this will mean for the next English set just yet. If we have everything that’s been released in our English set, we would have over 35 Ultra Rares, Full Arts, or Secret Rares. That just sounds outrageous. But only time will tell. I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated as we get news about English releases.

First off, we have the Wishiwashi GX/Full Art. The first card of Wishiwashi we have in its School Form.

Next up, we have a Secret Rare Fighting Energy. The Metal and Psychic Energy Secret Rares from Sun and Moon Base Set are really holding up price-wise so it’s nice to see TPCI continuing the trend. We also have a Secret Rare Lightning Energy in the set. We saw a Secret Rare Double Colorless Energy and Grass Energy in SM1+ which we still have not had in English. So potentially 4 Secret Rare Energies for the English SM2?

So what do you guys think about the new cards? Are you excited to own them for yourself? And what are your thoughts on the controversial amount of Secret Rares in the Sun and Moon sets so far?

  1. My version
“Years ago, when we got cease and desist orders and our games were lost, but now people can just find ways to make download links on shady pirating sites that give you viruses! The power of science is phenomenal!”

  2. Fun fact: The pokemon school is actually useful in my game. You can actually attend it. If you try to leave during class, this event triggers

“Where do you think you’re going, pupi!? SIT RIGHT THE…… WORD BACK DOWN! I CAN’T SWEAR DUE TO THE RATINGS OF THIS GAME, BUT I WILL…”

(Door opens, a boy walks in)

    “What the fuck’s up guys?”

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU JUST RAISED THE AGE RATING!!! PUPIL! MAKE HIM PAY!”

  3. I really like my idea for the rival in my fakemon games. Her/His gender is opposite of your character’s and he doesn’t get a starter, he has a three stage pure water type baised on the Baikal seal and he/she is a water type specialist. Depending on the starter you chose he later gets other pokemon. He gets Clawitzer if you chose the fire starter, Ludicolo if you chose the water starter and a new water/fire type if you chose the grass starter. Is that a good idea?

  4. Can someone who knows the shiny swap method please help me?
I am currently hunting for a shiny minior with the swap method. I read that for genderless pokemon I have to reject and accept eggs before getting the shiny. So what I was thinking about is:
Let’s suppose that the shiny magikarp is the 23 egg on 30 eggs. Can I reset, collect 22 magikarp eggs, then take out magikap from the daycare, save the game and do the switch? So the first egg I collect will be a shiny? This would help if I have to reject the first shiny because of its ivs.

  5. Here is a new Fakemon I have, but it’s a mystical one (I mentioned it briefly when I was answering Earthen’s question below):

Before I introduce it, I will explain it’s backstory. It’s a Pokemon that has existed since the dawn of time. It has witnessed events that have taken place: the Mew Age, the age of pre-historic Pokemon, and even the dawn of civilization. It has learned through its lifetime to master arts of fighting, becoming the conqueror of combat. It has been said to outlast any foe, even if it lasts months in combat.
Using this power, this being protected Selos for malevolent dangers outside the region. Some of these beings include UBs and some other legendaries who might intend harm. Each time, it emerged victorious, saving the region from catastrophe. The citizens praise its almighty power, in which they write legends and myths this Pokemon appears in. Some myths describe its power to plow away mountains, seperate the seas, and even shape islands from its strength. Monuments are placed in every city and town about this being, to worship it as the region’s guardian.
So here is the most powerful Pokemon of Selos: Myghtter

    Myghtter
    The Almighty Pokemon
    Type: Fighting
Ability: Power Within – All abilities’s effects are ignored
    Height: 18′ 01″
    Weight: 1390 lbs
    Stats:
    (HP) 80
    (ATK) 170
    (DEF) 140
    (SP ATK) 80
    (SP DEF) 110
    (SPD) 120
    (BST) 700
Movepool: Myghtter’s movepool is vast, which some it can learn is it can learn almost every single Fighting move, all moves with punch in it, all moves with kick in it, and even all moves affected by Iron Fist.
Dex Entry: Myghtter is known as the most powerful Fighting Pokemon of all. It’s spirit can never be broken or undeterred, so it will always remained focused on combat. It has learned every form of combat, which it surprises it’s opened in battle by using a multitude of fighting skills it beat it.
    Signature Z Move: Unleashed Onslaught
    Move required: Close Combat
    Power: 230
    Category: Physical
Description: A unique Z-move belonging to Myghtter, the user completely devastates the target with unbelievable flurries of all forms of combat. Finally, it unlocks its signature finishing blow, annihilating the target.

Name origin: Myghtter comes from parts of Might, and the Norwegian word for protector

  6. Here’s a pokemon important to my fan region (I don’t have dex entries yet):
Europson (words “European Bison” mashed together)
    Fighting
Based on a baby european bison (animal important to Polish culture)
    Evolves at level 20 into:
    Youngrrior (young + warrior)
    Fighting
Based on a young European Bison and a pre-medieval slavic soldier
    Evolves at level 40 into:
Zubrrior (“Żubr” (Polish word for the European Bison) and Warrior)
    Fighting/Steel
Based on an adult European Bison and a pre-medieval slavic warrior in chain armor with a spear
You get a Europson from the 3rd gym leader before battling him and that’s the only one you can get (because they’re protected by law). This pokemon’s important because It’s related to the third legendary.

What do you think about that?

  7. So I’ve been thinking about how if DP DO get a remake of some kind what my starter will be. I’ve already used all three Sinnoh starters in some way so they’re already in my main Pokemon roster boxes. I don’t want to double dip so I think I may transfer over a different Pokemon to be my starter this time. Just gotta figure out what it’ll be. Doesn’t matter what region, but I’m trying to decide whether I want to keep to the Water, Fire, Grass trio or go outside the boundaries and do something different lol

  8. So playing my Random Emerald i found a Tauros pretty early and it’s essentially my dream of a Fire Bull

    Toroast
    Little Calf PKM
    Fire
    Blaze HA: Rock Head
a small crimson bovine pokemon with a skinny body, it has a squarish head with a tuft of orange hair on its head with black horns, a pink snout and bushy eyebrows, its hooves are black, it has a long string like tail with a tiny ember at the end
“Toroast hold a lot of power in their small bodies, before they attack they spit steams of flames out their noses and charge”

    into
    Triggore
    Young Bull PKM
    Fire
    Blaze HA: Rock Head
a bigger adolescent Bull pokemon with a stockier body with a bright brick color, it’s head has long black horns that point straight out and it’s face has moody angry eyes and the eyebrows are always pointed, its orange hair now is a Mohawk with a missing part in the middle, it’s snout and legs are relatively the same
“Easily agitated, trainers must work very hard to establish a bond with Triggore, when they snort they spew flames that grow hotter the angrier they are”

    and finally
    Eruptoro
    Mad Bull PKM
    Fire (considering Fire/Ground Fire/Dark)
    Blaze HA: Rock Head
a towering red bull pokemon with long imposing horns that have glowing cracks of heat, glaring eyes and wild flaming eyebrows, it’s hair now is fire that runs down the length of the spine, bulky legs and black heavy hoofs with the same glowing cracks, on its body it has patches of spiky orange fur that resemble flames, its snout has scars and always billows smoke and embers (no ring srry)
“a powerful pokemon boasting great speed and power, it is almost permanently angry bucking wild and spewing flames from its nose, when angered enough it sets entire body on fire and goes on a rampage”

    Sample moves for Toroast
    Tackle
    Ember
    Leer
    Rage
    Flame Charge
    Smokescreen
    Work Up
    Double Kick
    Swagger
    Horn Attack
    Taunt
    Outrage
    Flare Blitz
