Nintendo Switch “Warping” According to User Reports

According to some users on Reddit, the Nintendo Switch console appears to be bending from heat, or warping, when kept in its dock too long. A photo originally posted by user _NSR  on Reddit shows their Switch is no longer straight after long gaming sessions.

Other users have also chimed in, some who have already contacted Nintendo’s support about a fix or replacement. There has been no official word from the company yet about this particular issue.

Have you noticed this issue, Switch owners?

  1. i’ve been keeping the switch constantly moving from dock, hand and table
but mostly i keep it docked and never manhandle it

but oh joy another thing to worry about

  2. Hopefully Nintendo addresses this issue soon, it would be pretty terrible to have Switch users’ experiences to be ruined already by the bending.

  3. Nintendo has to release a new better dock and it has to compensate the earlier adopters like me. I had scratches in the screen, heat issues (the dock covers the back coolers) and frame rate drop because of that. We need an alternate dock, or just a cable to connect it to the TV and power.

  4. So today…
I got paralyzed twice on a crucial move in the same match. Scizor didn’t break through and get a OhKO after getting paralyzed by thunderbolt… than when the guy got cocky it happened again

Another game I have an easy raikou sweep and a Keldeo gets a crit Hydro Pump

      • (It actually can live knock off from Gliscor, something I learned the hard way… especially with a Z-Crystal)
But it’s still actually quite good. It’s Z crystal is flat out one of the best in the entire game, enough to bolster its viability a ton

          • Trust me, if you know a mon has knock off, don’t leave it in. If you do, you deserve to lose it…
Plus, it’s very obvious to tell what mons run it and what don’t
To be entirely frank, Pursuit is the move that tends to kill it. If you know a mon has it, you just play it more carefully, like I do with my Araquanid around mantine or Honckrow

  6. Now that we’ve pretty much gone through Sun and Moon, what would be your 6 pokemon you’d take with you on your journey? Spanning all regions?

    • Montiki and Kongidol, though the latter’s not the best. Like I feel it just needs one less letter to sound like a pokemon name. Like Konidol, or Kongdol or something, though those arn’t great. Its just the issue that you can see it as two separate words rather then a mashup of the two.

          • the coolest part about Wufookong is that they’re blind by choice
they fight solely on extreme heightened senses and they do it by keeping their eyes shut

if they ever open them, they are overwhelmed by the surroundings and go into a frenzy

        • I said conversion
And honestly? Splash isn’t nearly as good as people make it out to be…. unless gyrados uses it… but besides that

          • Mimikyu is literally an easy kill for me every time I fight it. It’s stupidly easy to counter

          • It is though with
            -anything that lowers Attack
            -anything with intimidate
-anything that can burn or paralyze it
            -anything that’s naturally faster
            -a steel type

Basically a lot of things. I’ve literally NEVER lost a single mon to a Mimikyu in competitive before

    • Flynium-Z salamance and Grassium-Z Volcarona work great for me.
And I’ve also seen Grassium-Z Heatran and Flynium-Z Gyarados a lot.

      • You’re the last person I expected to say that since you said you don’t preorder for this reason, but yeah. In a survey (correct me if I’m wrong), 4% of users reported problems, which is pretty good against the 10% of the PS3 and the 52% of the Xbox 360.

        Reply
          • No, don’t get me wrong, I know that. Which is why it’s suprising to hear you say that it’s only a small percentage.

          • I think she acknowledges it, but just doesn’t want to be part of that small percentage (and I agree).

          • That’s understandable. Who knows, my Switch could be bent by the end of the week, and if so, I only have myself to blame (and Nintendo, I guess). I just adopted it early out of a nagging concern that there might be low stock and I wouldn’t be able to pick it up after they work out the kinks.

      • i am so sorry for replying so late. and you are right but with my luck it would happen to me lol I am one of the ones who got a defective ds lite that randomly broke in half. was literally walking through my local mall(which is now gone rip) playing pokemon emerald and it just randomly broke in half.

      • oh you lot are being ridiculous
This is a minor flaw to those who aren’t careful with the equipment, every new console could potentially have errors and we need people buying them early to scout them out to send feedback

    • *sigh*

Yeah, I just found out about this. I’m gonna wait, as much as I want to play it there’s no way I’m gonna emulate a game that isn’t even out. It is really dissapointing though, we’re over a month away. . .

      Reply
      • Ehh, it is what it is. If anything its kinda nice since it’ll give people a taste as to what Gaiden 2.0 is like and allow people to better set their expectations so we don’t see Awakening era fan’s upset that its so different, and post kaga fans stop claiming that this is “classic” fire emblem. That and blame IS and nintendo for not having better security.

        Reply
          • Who knows. My guess would be that it was uploaded in advance to the digital store, it wasn’t secure enough and someone managed to hack in and get the rom files. From there its simply a matter of having either a working emulator or a Japanese 3DS and a little knowledge about hacking and you could play it.

          • Well, time to avoid spoilers for a really old game for a month. I’ve avoided them my whole life, I can do it for another month.

          • Good luck with it. I’m not going to spoil anything for ya, though I might bring up the reception its getting in Japan for sake of conversation or kinda odd design choices that don’t speak of the story.

  13. So I have two provinces to explore still in BotW and a bunch of quests to do, but part of me really wants to just rush through and get all the story adrenaline. I’ve taken my time so far and I hope to continue, since I’ve avoided spoilers miraculously, but part of me wants to just go rush the castle.

Yooka-Laylee was properly executed with flying colors
-Graciously funded beyond initial goal and continued to grow indicating a love and belief in the product
          – gave the players a return to a forgotten era of 3D open platforming with colorful beautifully created worlds
          – likable and lovable characters
          – and is being made with people who poured their hearts into something they truly loved

          Reply
    • Tbh i kinda considered Yooka-Laylee to be in the same vein as shovel knight, because its an old concept that a lot of modern games fail to utilize, and honestly I would love for there to be more Yooka-laylee games after this one, but for shovel knight, they might have to change a lot to keep it from not seeming repetitive for a second game

      Reply
      • But Shovel Knight pulls from multiple games on the NES (Zelda 2, Ducktails, Mario3, Castlevania etc.) but that makes it wholly unique. But Yooka Laylee is basically a sequel. I’m still exited for it, but I just want more games that take from multiple sources with more original concepts

        Reply
          • Lol, there really isnt anything wrong with it as long as its a good game. It’s just that I feel gaming looks back a bit too much and doesn’t do much to innovate (which I’m aware is basically a meaningless word at this point). More original concepts is always welcome. But of course I still want sequels and remakes and spiritual successors, but idk, I feel like we can do more for older franchises by bringing more modern concepts into them and adding new things. Maybe YL will do that though

          • tbh theres only so much we can do to make a game unique these days, we have to give them a bone here and there as we see fit because in a way, all game concepts have almost always been done before they just add new twists here and there, however, there are a lot of really original games on other consoles, just look at some of the fantastic games that come out on PS, nintendo based games just have a habit of not shaking things up too much. But I get what youre saying

          • I could rant about game innovation for literally hours. Big game companies for the most part aren’t interested in stepping outside the norm, games still have this weird fixation on one single emotion (fun), we mostly think of games spatially and that limits alot of what we can do, and.. uhgg again, could go on for hours and hours. But hey, I haven’t worked on a game since what? January? So I’m not helping clearly so I shouldn’t complain

          • go scream into your pillow, it helps me sometimes, I’ve been doing it a lot lately

    • Honestly I kinda agree with you. I’m not really looking for some of gaming’s greats to come back and make what is virtually a continuation of their series. Rather I’d love for them to try to create a mix of old ideas that they love with more modern tastes like shovel knight or even something like a hat in time.

          • Well it can’t recover or use status moves itself either. Seriously it’s so easy to wear it down.

          • doesn’t need to with its unchecked bulk and leftovers and nature’s madness wearing anything down easily

          • Or a poison type… or something that can stall it…. or something that can status it…. or something that can take its hits at all

            Poison type moves work

i don’t i’m talking about my OU team, but while you mention it Ground got nothing to fight back with this gen, we got squat while Water and Fairy get yet another batch of annoyances
try fighting it without legends then you’ll be singing another tune

      • That’s what a lot of the complaints are though. People are saying this game just trys to be an N64 era platformer and doesn’t bring anything unique to the table. I’ll pick it up later when it gets cheaper, though, it looks like it’d be pretty fun to play through once.

        Reply
          • Yeah, and that’s exactly what people payed for. They wanted it to be an homage to the N64 era platformers.

          • Well there we go then, it will reach its audience. It may mot be groundbreaking or outstanding by today’s gaming standards but if it’s what people wanted it’ll do what was intended.

          • Oh absolutely. The people who payed to get that revival will probably love the game, while it might be a miss with others.

          • You can never please everyone. It may not make masses of money but it’s made some people happy and I assume the crowdfunding means it shouldn’t run up much if any loss.

  34. Another reason why I love using Dedenne is because it completely shuts down Smeargles in AG. Nuzzle often paralyzes it completely on the first turn, and the speed loss destroys it. If it spores my Dedenne, then I swap out to another Pokemon and wreck it since the Focus Sash is gone and it’s too slow to Baton Pass the stats.

      • I think it can, but I choose not to have it on it. Sometimes I lead with Z-Electric Terrain Electivire and mess it up completely.

          • It’s a very odd one, but:
            Dedenne @Sitrus Berry
            Cheek Pouch
            Naive
            4 Def, 252 Sp Atk, 252 Speed
            -Thunderbolt
            -Volt Switch
            -Nuzzle
            -Super Fang

I start off with Nuzzle, then Super Fang, and wrap it up with Thunderbolt on a foe neutral to the damage (No joke, I’ve actually taken out a few Rayquaza with this). If not, I V-Switch out. The Sitrus Berry is there so it can survive 2-3 hits because of Cheek Pouch giving most the Hp back.

          • 3/4s of the time, before they could attack, I would Super Fang them, and then after Dedenne falls, some other teammate would finish it off. Sometimes I have Dedenne die so that it can tear down a bulky mon with Super Fang.

          • But…dedenne still falls
and you look me in the eye and don’t say they don’t spam recover

          • Usually they don’t expect Dedenne to use the move, so while they aren’t attacking, I giga drain them from Volcarona. I never really see these two as much (about 2-4 battles but that’s it), so it also hasn’t been much of a concern.

  35. You have gotta be kidding me. Cave Story + on the switch is 30 dollars? The original game is already free now you are doubling the price of the steam version? Fucking hell…

Option A, people don’t buy it: Oh well, I guess the switch owners only want Nintnedo games, I won’t put my games on the switch.

          • Yes but they also seemed to reduce the amount of money/support they were giving the creators. So some of the later episodes are a bit eh but that’s because they didn’t have many resources to work with.

          • True. That did suck for the show, but I guess that’s the price of pitching a show that really didn’t fit the network. Like in hindsight Korra probably would have been in better hands if it was picked up by CW given how they’ve treated their shows over the years, with the odd exception here and there.

Have you ever given your Pokemon you used in a main game a specific backstory as you progressed but over time you’ve forgotten specific events and desperately tried to remember

I’m trying to remember how my Sun journey went but I’m trying to remember when my Litten evolved, it’s whole story is it going from a distant uncaring Cat Pokemon into a battle hungry violent Incineroar out to prove its power

Also it HATES Rockruff/Lycanroc (aside from the cats v dogs thing but the sheer fact Fire doesn’t affect Rock types)

    Reply
      • Well Litten was KO’d by Rockruff in the game and I vowed to make Rockruff or Crabrawler my first capture, so story wise Litten tried to beat Rockruff tooth and claw but nothing bothered it (it was the overly excited puppy type) and as I whited out I dropped a Pokeball and it went after it, chewing on it this getting captured

And Torracat evolved during Olivia’s fight with Lycanroc and at point it tapped into its jealous anger and evolved on the spot

      • Fair enough, but I’d argue its a game that can’t just be average. Its an all-star team handed a huge budget and ran with the kick-starter idea of “we want to make the games that fans want, but big publisher’s don’t want to make that game”, meaning that expectation’s are high. Still we’ll see in a week or so how quickly people tear it a new one, or start to black-list certain review sources.

  56. I have a new idea for my fan games

There is a new phenomenon that happens in the post-game called Time Spots

Time Spots happen randomly all over Selos, due to the legendaries previously in the main game. Often, temporal waves go wacky and some routes/landmarks are transformed into futuristic or ancient versions of themselves. Therefore, there are different trainers, items, and Pokemon (from other regions) to encounter. These spots are randomly generated, and last for 24 hours.

      Reply
      • So far the episodes don’t hold that…”consistency” the reason is exactly Ash is stuck at school, this limits decent character growth,

i theorize that soon Ash will be leaving the school and traveling the alola region to challenge the rest of the island challenge

        Reply
        • That makes sense. From the start I couldn’t see him being stuck ALL season long on Melemele in the school. Since there are 3 other islands, Team Skull, and the Aether Foundation to take on it makes sense that maybe one episode he’ll get bored with the school and leave to explore the rest of the region.

          • I’ve stopped watching the anime after XY&Z ended. I still look up the episode screen caps at Serebii but I don’t really feel like watching it (Also, the fansub I downloaded the episodes from has been inactive for months). If Ash leaves the school and starts exploring the region, I might start watching it.

Unless they announced a huge number of games, their probably going to suffer when it comes to the stage show.

The only criticism i have is lack of character development with Lana and Sophocles and I hope Ash will travel to the other islands soon, he’s been stuck at the school most of the time.

          • It really is something a fool would say, I’ve loved it so far!

Though I’ve been dreading the day Litten joins…. because… it’s literally Charizard 2.0. When it evolves, it’s gonna stop obeying him and act like a total piece of shit despite Ash being nice to it. I’m not in the mood to watch that…

          • I mean, even the poster pretty much gave it away though. Litten ain’t one of my favourites either but if the writers at least give it a proper treatment instead of what they did to Snivy and Oshawott then i guess i’m okay with it.

It’d be better if they gave Litten to Kiawe though

I absolutely hate these small dexs and demand the next one gives us more Pokemon then Unova or Kanto, make the next region Africa or Australia themed those places have so much wildlife you can’t take two steps without something trying to kill you

Also make all unused type combos like Ground/Fighting, Normal/Ghost, Poison/Steel ect

        • I think that we need around 110 pokemon each new generation to make the regions fill like diverse ecosystems. Sun and Moon does a decent job, but it still feels like they could of added a few more Pokemon. They could of give Komala the evolution it deserves.I guess we will have to wait for the Australia region that Earthen is talking about for Komala to get an evolution.

        Reply
          • (Gotta get back to work)
But Darmanitan wouldn’t do that, they get all their energy from their flame sac, and sunlight would only strengthen their flame giving them the heat they need to be active

          • Well I severely don’t
Just like Megas giving people an excuse to give them outrageous forms types and abilities Regional forms are just as bad even worse

It’s supposed to be how different enclosed environments cause Pokemon to change in order to survive, I get that I truly do but then they start just giving changes just to change it and they write it off as regional form, that irritates me, some make sense Exeggutor and Ninetales to a point but the rest just could’ve occurred anywhere or not at all but got away with it

Now people just give vague reasons to existing Pokemon and call it a regional form

          • Well screw that I tried o make them fit the areas of the game. You’re like me. When our don’t like something you try to come up with “logical” and “objective” reasons as to why it’s bad instead of just accepting that you have another opinion

          • Well I think they’re all good. I think the flabebe one is the best form pitch I’ve heard. Certainly better than the alola ones.

          • That heats still gotta go somewhere, u can’t have light without heat

And Darmanitan are wild fire apes who fight with blazing fury but when its strength drops so does its temp and turns into a stone like statue with a chance to fight with its mind

          • Well then I guess fire/electric could work if you really wanted to change her idea. If it’s based on the sleep mode though, it doesn’t sound like it would have a normal form. And fire is kind of obsolete to sleeping darmanitan. It’s basically stored power which is like what solar panels do

          • Electric just doesn’t work for it plain and simple

Solar panel or not it’s still sunlight and heat, which Darmanitan thrive on, no possible regional influence would EVER change that unless it was an artic wasteland and turn it ice or the better outcome is naturally dying from uninhabitable environments
(nobody ever thinks of that, they always gotta change never just die off, toss a bunch of Magby’s into the ocean it’s fine they’re gonna turn into water types because we’re hucking them into the sea)

          • But that’s not how things work, people should question her logic at every turn until it makes sense

          • My friend, that’s exactly how pokemon works. Either way, I think the concept works. I don’t mean to hijack stars concept, but it seems that darmanitans stored form adapted to take in sunlight and convert into electric power because they’re essentially stationary creatures and just sit in the sun, so over time they used psychic power to adapt. Electric works for me

          • I personally don’t
The idea that it converts the sunlight into electricity eludes me because it could easily be sitting in the sun after being weakened from battle and while in Zen Mode it is stationary and eventually by absorbing light and heat it converts the solar energy to reignite its internal flame to resume Active Mode, electricity being far out of the equation

          • I’m not going to argue on the absolute stupidity that went into A. Raichu’s conception

a open and shut case of how they made it psychic just because they wanted it, they couldn’t even bother giving it a actual reason for a type combo that couldn’t be more compatible

        • Just cause it has to do with the Sun or Sunlight doesn’t mean it has to be fire

And Electric is based on Energy and when I think energy I think Electric

          Reply
    • Nice Ideas for Sinnonion Pokemon. Hopefully they will add north and south Shellos/Gastrodon. Also new rotom forms would be great. Your Chandelure idea is kind of cool. I don’t think we would see Drampa regional form yet since normal Drampa is still relatively new. Your other ideas are good.

          • Oh, and I imagine psychic would have some sort of dominance over space because most space related pokemon were psychic type. Plus I also associate psychic types with knowledge. What is more helpful in space than knowing what you are doing?

  82. Haboonade-ade: A peppy drink with a shockingly rough texture. It is rather warm for a beverage. It’s label reads “For all the plucky go-getters of the world! Made with real Haboonade scales!” For some reason, you don’t trust this claim. Heals for 80 HP.

Pebble: For some reason you felt compelled to pick this up and bring it with you. If you really feel compelled to, you can basically kill a charizard by lightly tapping it with this…

Darumaka Dropping: Sometimes old traditions are best left in the past…. Heals a frozen Pokemon.

Moomoo Yogurt- When milk is too liquidy, try this alternative! Heals for 100 HP.

Whiffleball: Congrats! You found an easter egg item!

(Censored): YOU’RE A TWELVE YEAR OLD KID!!! GET RID OF THAT!!!

101 Reasons why Greninja is the best Pokemon!: The writing on this book is in Crayon….this is a bad start. Using this item on a Charizard gives it the ability to OHKO Greninjas with blast burn.

In Battle: Ahhh! My Pokemon! We’ll make you pay for this!

Wins: 40 is the magic number~! 40 is the magic number~! Any less and you lose!

Losing: Better luck next time! You sure are skilled, but not enough to beat me!!

After loss speech: (If using a fairy type) You used a fairy type! You’re cheap!!! Take your stupid badge and TM…
(If not using a fairy) T-that was incredible! B-but how!? … Anyways take these, a TM for a move called Rising Dragon. It takes two turns to use but the second turn is a flinch a lot of the time! Oh! And here’s my badge!

My choices amount to a model, a doctor, a teacher, a shut-in, the student council president, a shogi pro, a photographer, a celebrity, or a fortune teller. Any suggestion’s based solely on the most basic basis of their characters?

A new event has begun around the globe. This event gives the Mega Stones for Mega Mawile and Mega Beedrill, as well as the Audinite and Medichamite for Mega Audino & Mega Medicham. This is given with the code: INTIMIDATE. Currently there is no end date known for this distribution so be sure to get it while you still can. This follows on from the distribution to tie in with the 2017 International Challenge February for the Mawilite & Beedrillite. Our Event Database has been updated with the details of this event
It has also been confirmed that the shared code for Steelixite & Pidgeotite will be distributed in May

Y’know, intimidate? The ability delusionals think will make Incineroar good

    Reply
    • Didn’t expect them to distribute 2 more mega stones. This may mean the shared code for Pidgeotite and Steelixite might have 2 more mega stones too which is a nice prospect.

          • if its constantly on its belly waiting for prey to wander by it can probably handle a little RPMs

Point is i’ll never forget the dickhead who told me to get a Water counter for a fire mono there isn’t any and a Fire/Dragon could suffice

          • Not a counter but anything fast with Grassium Z Solar Beam will help as it’ll probably score an OHKO, and a Torkoal/Ninetales/Charizard is a must anyway. Still sucks there isn’t a good Fire/Electric or Fire/Grass tho to counter water

And crawling on your stomach doesn’t begin to match the pressure spinning on it would do :s

          • Bloom Doom is a one shot deal
and i already use Charizard X

And Torkoal is way too valuable to lose since it’s the only thing that can get rid of SR

          • One shot can change everything tho, if you take out a bulky your sun users can then slaughter

It’s good you’ve already got both sun users tho, sucks you don’t have another spinner for the type because then Tork could contribute to kills

          • tell me about it so far my Flame Warriors consist of
            Charizard X
            Darmanitan
            Arcanine
            Ninetales
            Chandelure
            Torkoal

i don’t use it as much BECAUSE ALL THE FREAKING WATER MONOS

          • Looks like a promising team, hopefully there’s forms, megas or alolans this Gen or some better Pokemon next gen to help you out

          • they can go burn in a whole, the very second they stopped being about environmental changes i vowed to hate them

          • But irl animals change all the time because of stuff that isn’t just their habitat

For examples, we bred cats and dogs specifically (Alolan Persian is a dead wringer for breeds that are actually unhealthy or bred for a specific culture that others find ugly)

Alolan Raichu, Graveler and Grimer would’ve got different nutrients and minerals that would’ve led to differing development

And Alolan Marowak (iirc, can’t remember if this is accurate or not) changed because of its predators/natural enemies, which is an important change

Selective breeding, diet and predator prey relations all effect real life animals, not just a change in habitat

          • I get the whole Alolan Persian thing but i still hate it nonetheless since it along with Grimer

Geodude’s line doesn’t even bother explaining the reason their magnetic (and the whole use my imagination doesn’t work on me, i wanna hear it out of them)

Raichu is THE FUCKING WORST, ZERO INFORMATION OR LOGIC THEY JUST FLAT OUT SAID THEY DON’T CARE

And Marowak’s is also stupid because what about their water enemies, they quote they changed because a sixth sense but that’s a load of malarkey and did it so they can plainly write it off as flame dancers

          • Alolan Geodude could be explained better I agree, but it makes sense. It ate minerals with magnetic properties and itself became magnetic.

Feel Alochu could’ve been developed better too but it’s obvious that it’s still a dietary change, possibly one that worked up its electric powers to jack up its brain or unlock latent psychic powers or something

Cubone and Marowak have never lived near water, why should they care for their water based enemies?

          • i have been saying it FOR MONTHS Wide breeding to increase populace of Pikachu in the wild in Alola could’ve resulted in higher brain functionality and when exposed to the thunderstone radiation the increased electricity in the brain unlocked heightened mental powers

Electric and Psychic CANNOT BE MORE COMPATIBLE but they fucked up royally

“here are many Grass-type Pokémon—Marowak’s natural enemies—in the Alola region. This makes Alola a harsh environment for Cubone and Marowak. As a result, they live in close union with their partners. It’s said that their great care for their partners allowed them to gain something like a sixth sense and resulted in their changed form.”

            A. They could just live in a fucking badlands or the volcano like they normally would
            B. how does a close bond with their union result in spookie fire dancing

          • Alola doesn’t really have badlands on Akala, and Cubone would be stranded on that island as they can’t swim. Akala is mostly cost or grassy areas and the closest thing to a badland is the active volcano

The dancing could’ve easily been a mating ritual or a part of their social hierarchy changed by their environment (the fire types around them in the volcano may of been involved) which developed into fire dancing

No idea why they’re more spiritual than normal, it’s just a nice Gen I throwback

          • Don’t forget the Poni canyon
my original idea is that Marowaks on Alola had to fight for survival day and night and this harsh life left them to seek refuge in volcanic regions and overexposure to the extreme heat caused them to adapt and fight with the flames

or something like that, i honestly rather not have pokemon change in anyway

          • I just want a giant ass dex next gen, i’m so sick of small dexes limiting my options

Also this team is freaking terrifying once i get CharX or Darmanitan under the sun

Sheer Force STAB Flare Blitz with Sun boost Darmanitan with a Scarf

          • I feel like small dexes have more memorable Pokemon but larger dexes are more exciting so I’m not bothered either way tbh

            I just want more past gen evos ;-;

  94. Honestly, I’m really suprised BotW has lasted me this long. I have a ton of stuff I want to still do and it’s been over a month. And of course, I haven’t finished the story. It wouldn’t be the same going back after I did, so it has to be last.

-One really strong Pokémon is found only by accessing an event that is random. That random event has a rare chance of giving the player that Pokémon.

-From gym 1, Z-moves are present

There’s a ‘vampire’ character (name undecided) who regularly battles to gain the Flying Gym Leader title against Claudia, who is a well respected bird keeper.

Depending on the game, you either fight

    Vampy

    Zubat Lv. 13
    Woobat Lv. 13
    Spoobat Lv. 15

    Or

    Claudia

    Aurinch Lv. 13
    Ariabin Lv. 13
    Tuffin Lv. 15

You either get Roost (Claudia) or Pluck (Vampire)

  105. Spotlight on one of my Fakemon concepts, Chrovurm. Name’s a combination of ‘Chromium’ and ‘Wyrm’, suiting for a Steel/Dragon.

It has a silver coloured, metallic serpent body that splits into five dragon-like heads. Each ‘head’ has a horn made of a certain metal, and what head corresponds to what metal is indicated by the colour of its eyes and horn.

The eyes are the same colour as the flame they let off. Burning different metals leads to different flame colours, with the ‘Chro’ part also coming from ‘Chroma’ meaning ‘Colour’. The heads and their eye/flame colours are in the following order: zinc (yellow), potassium (pink), strontium (red), sodium (red), copper (green).

Seeing as it’s also based off a hydra, it has poison based attacks such as Poison Gas and Venom Drench. It’s shiny has different colours, to be decided

    • reminds me of this creature i drew
      The Skydra
Skydra are magical sky beasts that harness the weather as a powerful weapon, they have three long necks with varying horn like crests, large feathery wings and a wing on the end of its tail, each head can spit out a different meteorological attack, lightning, rain and snow

But the real story is a MASSIVE mechanical metropolis in the sky, inhabited by a pitiful yet industrious race known as the Grunglings, fat greedy inventors that are made of a flexible rubber like material they can inflate their bodies and arms to float around. nearly everyone of these jerks use Skydras for everything, from powering turbines or ferrying them around, and they treat them like horrible monsters despite their peaceful ways

but deep in the bowls of this skyhigh city is their dirty secret a gigantic Skydra broodmother being forced to lay eggs (Skydra eggs give off a strong electrical charge)

          • Don’t hate or love her, she’s a well designed character but tbh she has this feeling that she’s been around since release… Not good, because she has nowhere near the hype of Sombra or Ana, but not bad because she feels at home and not OP/UP like Ana/Sombra

I think she’s perfect, but IMO not exciting

          • It might as well be seeing as how large her headshot box is

Slap a Widow on the other team and you can get her out of the game before you finish saying ‘adieu’

          • Yup. If there’s one thing I hate about overwatch it’s how shitty the balancing is occasionally

It’s better on comp where you’re playing with similarly skilled players but on quick you’ve got Widow mains who can’t snipe for shit and people running rampant with the tank who can one shot in two different ways (one is just by shooting at two different distances) and heal half his HP

          • I just don’t enjoy the game, but to each their own
I’m sure having the game you play being killed than having the fanbase that killed your game repetitively bully your fanbase is a good enough reason for me to hate the game.. .plus I don’t enjoy it

          • Battleborn and overwatch….. let’s just say Overwatch fans harassed me quite a bunch in the passed….

          • It’s unfortunate they came out the same time, I heard it really suffered because of it

          • It did! What pisses me off is this… Overwatch can get away with giving a character DLC every 4 months and be okay
Battleborn released DLC characters and story missions literally once a month

          • Tbf its because OW is extremely based on Pro level play, so literally everything has to *fine tuned* to the extreme. Sucks, but understandable.

          • But so is Battleborn….. kinda…
It was all fine until the winter…. then all the balance went to shit

          • It depends, actual character concept or OPness

(Design we have Ghalt, a shotgun hook character with a stun trap that later was nerfed to a slow trap… he’s actually one of the best balanced characters. Excellent support character)

          • Oh, it goes in cycles
We had Ambra and Galilea at the begging who got toned down with nerfs
Alani when she first came out could solo entire teams despite being a healer. She got nerfed three updates straight and still is super good. (But not OP)
Pendles was OP at first but literally because people couldn’t figure out that staying together made him useless
Ernest…. thank the lord he got nerfed…
            Same for Benedict
Kid Ultra was busted as fuck in the start. He got nerfed.
And Beatrix is, arguably, still broken as fuck

          • Eh, doesn’t sound too bad, probably gets over exaggerated unlike OW because blizzard has a bunch of white knights defending their balancing and character mains screaming bloody hell if a nerf looks at them

          • Exactly… but that isn’t the issue… it’s the nerfing that is
The most well known character was one named “El Dragon”, a Luchador. he was quite literally one of the most frustrating to learn and least played characters in the game. However a few brave souls such as moi, learned how to play him…. to say the least, I would never dip below 20 kills a game and I’d top in the 40’s ….. keep in mind this is a melee character in a moba…..

Anyways, it wasn’t that he was broken, it’s that if someone was good as him he was EXTREMELY SCARY. he had a counter, if you but an effect (Slow, stun, etc) he basically was an easy kill….. He was like an upper mid tier character
So gearbox looked at the character, thought he needs a nerf… and nerfed literally everything about him….
            He was a glass cannon……
He got nerfed that he became outdamaged by healers, had his health dropped even lower despite being one of the lowest health characters already, had lowered attack speed and had EVERY SINGLE ATTACK HE HAD LOWERED IN DAMAGE… and his stun was halfed in time.. and his stunning tool was was decreased in range…
BUT DON’T WORRY THEY MADE UP FOR THIS BY INCREASING THE DAMAGE THE DASH HE USES TO ESCAPE DOES

          • Absolutely ridiculous, tbh, reminds me of D. Va on OW

Meant to harass and do damage, only broken because the healing sniper Ana who can sleep enemies, then damage/heal herself/deny healing/boost her teams healing with one short cool down ability could use said ability and use her high healing to heal d. Va back to full

She also got a health buff no one wanted

She was finally viable after a recent buff blizzard made, was a high risk/high reward if you didn’t have an Ana…

But because Ana is stupidly OP and is favourited by devs and fan boys, it was d. Va that got nerfed, not her enabler, meaning D. Va is just a shield bot now who can fly sometimes

And the Ana mains bitched so hard when she got the nerf she needed that they got her nerf reverted within a day

          • Oh god…
Oh and ready for this? Ready for the reason why they nerfed him?
Because the data from those few good players was so good that he warranted a nerf…
Now he’s literally the worst character in the game…. and I’m still pretty good with him.. the fact that some people can still use him is why he hasn’t gotten buffed yet… no joke… gearbox quite literally said it themselves

          • Few people are skilled enough to make him ‘OP’: NERF NERF NETFLIX

Few people are skilled enough to make him not UP: No buff for you uwu

          • IKR!? He is!!!!
You could literally flop into a crowd, stun them and wail the fuck out until two seconds are up and they begin to gangbang you XD

          • I mean they shouldn’t all be that close anyway if they know you’re on the enemy team, sucks he got nerfed

          • Exactly… even if they were, he can still be countered…
And he does the Buzzwole death… he flexes when he dies

          • Same ;~;
            He’s perfect
(also, it doesn’t hurt that nearly every character had an anime voice actor… and that we had taunts.. a lot of them…

One character actually had one that made a little (Albiet hilarious) jab at Overwatch

          • Y’know that one tracer win pose where she goes in that one position that really showed off her ass? Well.. the character (a male by the way) goes into that position with an exaggeration on his ass… and the taunt is called Cavalier

          • It’s perf :3
(Back when dabbing was popular we got a waterbender who dabs for a taunt)

  106. Pokedex Entry: 84
    Platyrant
    Classification: Platypus Pokemon
    Height: 6’09
    Weight: 234.5 Lbs
    Type: Poison/Electric
Ability: Storm Drain/Fluid Current (Hidden Ability: Corrosion)
    Stats:
    HP: 90

    Special Defense: 100
    Speed: 40
    Base Stat Total: 600
Pokedex Entry: Although it keeps the reticent personality it had earlier in its life, Platyrant becomes a lot more dangerous upon evolving. It is extremely loyal to anything that it bonds to. If either itself or what it protects are in danger, it will show no mercy in attacking the threat. It secretes a strange toxic liquid from its body to make large puddles. It conducts the energy of its electrical attacks toward the opponent with overwhelming force.

Evolves from Platesla: Level 55 while knowing at least 1 poison move.

He’s finally done… the platypus pseudo

  108. So, you can only have one Pokémon, given to you at birth whilst it itself is an egg, and you have to raise it from birth to death. No swaps, no trading, and it has to have a name because it’s an individual.

What Pokemon, what gender/name/characteristics/physical variations from the rest of its species/etc would it have and why?

    1. Clearly have a defined and immoral plan.
    2. Edgelords who actually are threatening
    3. Pirates

    • The worst thing is is that it’s one of the the most plausible joining the evil teams ever

Lusamine wouldn’t get angry as hell, would probably kill Nebby to summon beasts that will eventually be defeated (if Kahuna + Tapu can go toe to toe with them, a group of humans and Pokemon will slaughter them), she’d get detained, and we’d be chilling as part of skull as Lillie’s life goes to absolute shit

  113. Anyone else noticed that there’s a ‘girly’ starter for each type? Meganium (least feminine), Delphox (mostly feminine due to Braixen) and Primarina (arguably one of the most feminine Pokemon ever, and probably the most feminine starter there’ll ever be)

  115. I only have 15 Shrines and several memories remaining in Breath of the Wild! I don’t know how I’m possibly going to narrow down those Shrines without using a walkthrough multiple times, but I’m going to give it my best shot. I hope to finish this (and everything else on plate) by the end of the weekend so I can start fresh next week!

      • I’m not even going to try with the Hyrule Compendium, it’s just not worth it for me. Same goes for side quests and Korok seeds. I want to save those for later when DLC comes around. I’ll consider the game complete when I get all the Shrines and memories.

        Reply
    • I have like 30-40 shrines to go, 4 memories left, and 800+ Korok seeds that I’ll never find. I’m not sure whether or not I’ll try to finish all the shrines, but unlike you, I don’t want to finish anytime soon.

      • This is a game that really isn’t ever finished. It will take me ages to complete every possible thing, so there will always be a reason to play it in the future. At the same time, I could screw around with the physics and climb mountains endlessly. It’s the perfect chill-out game.

        • I definitely get what you mean, and while that’s awesome, it’ll hurt me all the more to finish the game. After the credits roll in a single player game it just isn’t the same to keep playing.

          • This is why I’m so happy about the DLC! We’ll have a big update at the end of the year around the time Super Mario Odyssey comes out, so we’ll all go back to play it again while a bunch of other Nintendo games are coming out. It’s going to be great.

          • Oh, WOW. . .

You know the year is full of great games when you forget about a new 3D Mario. I haven’t thought about Odyssey in so long. This year’s gonna be great for the Switch. ARMS and Splatoon 2 soon, FE Warriors, Odyssey, and Xenoblade 2 (hype!) later, along with more BotW DLC. Not to mention whatever gets announced at E3.

          • I still think that Smash Bros. could come out this year, but that’s just an educated guess. I’m very, very confident in Animal Crossing and Metroid coming in 2018 (maybe Pikmin as well), along with other odd-ball new IPs for both this year and next. Pokemon is also a toss-up as well, but I’m still leaning towards a couple more 3DS games. Luigi’s Mansion could very well be announced at E3. And who knows, maybe Kid Icarus and Donkey Kong as well? This will be a crazy first 12 months for the Switch for sure.

          • I’m just kinda sad that we’re getting Arms instead of a new Punch Out. They could’ve just made it a new Punch Out actually, it wouldn’t have the awful freaking name

          • The thing is, ARMS isn’t like punch out at all. Punch Out was all about memorizing patterns and such, but ARMS is more of an actual fighting game.

          • Honestly, I think Animal Crossing will come this year or very early next. If not AC, then Pikmin this year. I see Metroid next year for sure though, and part of me still thinks Smash port won’t happen at all. I know there was the amiibo stuff but I’m still skeptical.

  116. I just remembered that whole Mighty Number 9 “crying like an anime fan on prom night” thing and I just laughed. I’m just sad that if Yooka-Laylee is a flop we won’t get an amazing meme like that because the people who made it are too smart

        • Indeed, the game clearly has already had some pretty big issues on consoles, and even without that it has been receiving some criticism for not being too retro(for lack of a better word). We’ll see soon how it does in market, but it might be the second strike against old dev’s making spiritual successors to their games.
