Recently we got a peek at the cards in the newly released Japanese set, SM2. I’m sure most of you have seen at least a few of these by now, but a brand new set warrants another look. I will include a few in the article here from various Twitter posts and if you’d like to see them all, there will be a video at the bottom of the article that has everything else that has been released.
We don’t know what exactly this will mean for the next English set just yet. If we have everything that’s been released in our English set, we would have over 35 Ultra Rares, Full Arts, or Secret Rares. That just sounds outrageous. But only time will tell. I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated as we get news about English releases.
First off, we have the Wishiwashi GX/Full Art. The first card of Wishiwashi we have in its School Form.
Next up, we have a Secret Rare Fighting Energy. The Metal and Psychic Energy Secret Rares from Sun and Moon Base Set are really holding up price-wise so it’s nice to see TPCI continuing the trend. We also have a Secret Rare Lightning Energy in the set. We saw a Secret Rare Double Colorless Energy and Grass Energy in SM1+ which we still have not had in English. So potentially 4 Secret Rare Energies for the English SM2?
So what do you guys think about the new cards? Are you excited to own them for yourself? And what are your thoughts on the controversial amount of Secret Rares in the Sun and Moon sets so far?

Well now that I’ve finished the divine beasts I’ll type my thoughts on them breifly because the world needs to know my every opinion.
Vah Medoh and Vah Rudania’s prebattle fights were really dissapointing. Vah Medoh’s was literally just pressing X to paraglide whenever and aiming with arrows. It didn’t have the cool lighting and moving effect that Naboris did or the ice and waterfall aspects that Ruta did. It really felt like it was meant to be done first. And Rudania’s was just a puzzle. I was hoping for some cool mine cart ride thing around death mountain but nope, a guardian puzzle. And WOW, Thunderblight Ganon is really really deadly.
Look at the recovered memories list. The order for the Champion’s memories is shows that the order “should” be: Medoh, Rudania, Naboris, Ruto. And yes I agree, Naboris was by far the most challenging. I tackled it third, after having done Ruto and Rudania, and even with the powers I got, it was still very had. I can’t dodge & flurry rush for the life of me lol

But I really want to see a return to games actually having some effort in
Mostly in the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi department since the last couple have been stagnant turds with hardly any effort story and gameplay wise
Also I’m yearning for a new Animal Crossing possibly on the Switch but one thing occurred to me, the lack of streetpass will restrict some connectivity capabilities I mean they can just shit out Animal Crossing new leaf II but the Switch iron is white hot and they need to keep striking
Lastly is Smash I yearn to smash and I want to see new characters along the lines of Inklings and Shovel Knight
I wonder if they could implement a StreetPass-like feature in a future update or so. Would be great.

Streetpass just uses a protocol over Wifi similar to what is used when playing local multiplayer. They could make it something you have to active manually, but it’s technically possible. I don’t know if they want it though, they must have realised it’s underused in the west.

In the Winter version It’s Team Autumn with It’s leader Heliopsis (specializes in Ghost types)

Ultra Space is torn wide open and hundreds of Ultra Beasts pour into Alola and Lusamine is responsible, some heavy Lillie/Nihilego stuff, Ash befriending a Kartana, the Tapus fighting off Swarms of Ultra Beasts, and this idea that Lusamine summons a thousand Nihilego and fuses with them transforming her into a giant rampaging monster
As much as I hate the Ultra Beasts I feel they could at least do the movies some justice by being a better plot that the game deserved

I really like my idea for the rival in my fakemon games. Her/His gender is opposite of your character’s and he doesn’t get a starter, he has a three stage pure water type baised on the Baikal seal and he/she is a water type specialist. Depending on the starter you chose he later gets other pokemon. He gets Clawitzer if you chose the fire starter, Ludicolo if you chose the water starter and a new water/fire type if you chose the grass starter. Is that a good idea?

Can someone who knows the shiny swap method please help me?
I am currently hunting for a shiny minior with the swap method. I read that for genderless pokemon I have to reject and accept eggs before getting the shiny. So what I was thinking about is:
Let’s suppose that the shiny magikarp is the 23 egg on 30 eggs. Can I reset, collect 22 magikarp eggs, then take out magikap from the daycare, save the game and do the switch? So the first egg I collect will be a shiny? This would help if I have to reject the first shiny because of its ivs.

Well it could be something like a cult mentality, trying to humiliate and degrade individuals to follow orders without question or think about their goal. I mean it seems pretty clear that the grunts generally think that when Cyrus aims to conquer time and space he probably means changing the world to have them rule or something, not mass genocide. I used Empoleon as my starter when I first played Diamond. lol I love the Piplup line so much. I actually like many of the Pokemon from gen 4 a lot. I got a problem with the story progression and the fact that it’s a grind to get through Sinnoh, but I really like all the Pokemon and lore, characters, and even the general layout/design of Sinnoh. I just wish DP weren’t so poorly paced out. It’s because of that I didn’t bother getting Platinum which I hear fixes many of DP’s problems. I just hope whatever the remakes (if we get them) are like they fix all my problems with gen 4. I really really want to like it hahaha

Yeah all three are very hard to choose, they are tons of fun to use in game. Torterra is fun because of firing off earthquakes 247, Infernape because it sweeps everything, and Empoleon as it takes stuff very well.

Honestly I couldn’t disagree with you more. The episode’s great and is a really good point for steven’s growth and a common problem that a lot of people deal with when they feel that they have to live up to someone else, or follow in someone’s footsteps, when really they would ever want is for you to be you and to live a happy life.
But that was already dealt with. Bismuth told him and it was even better because she was a personal friend of Rose. Plus she showed that Rose wasn’t all perfect either.
Not really. Bismuth showed us that rose wasn’t perfect, yes, in the sense that she did what she had to do for a cause. However it didn’t really say anything about him picking his own path. Steven simply was seen as Morally better in Bismuth’s eyes since he wouldn’t lie about what happened like Rose did.
We really haven’t had an episode that did have Greg or Rose plainly say that they hope Steven does what ever makes him happy, and that’s what this really is.
i’m still waiting for a Rose’s origins episode where it shows Rose being injected into the earth, emerging and questioning the meanings of existence and rebelling
If anything it seems like Rose Quartzs were simply intended to be combat medics/healers, so perhaps it’ll just be her healing some human or other life form and then asking why do they deserve to die for them to live, and not really being given an answer that can satisfy her. That would be my guess at least.

Yet do you really expect it to be that much different then that? At the end of the day the gem’s are just gems. Their effectively rainbow colored robots made for certain purposes. If a healer is told not to heal something because their superior said no, it would probably see it as enough of a reason to say that their wrong and rebel, like Peridot kinda did. Remember her justification for rebelling was that Earth’s uniqueness far outweighed its value as a source of resources, or just destroying it, and it could prove useful to the gems. Yes liking Steven in the others was also a huge factor, but her selling point was based on logic.

Sure, but if you want an episode like that, you need more too it. I really thought that Steven was already past all this and now just wanted to know what secrets Rose was hiding
Its a show with 11 minute episodes. You can only do so much with that time, and if anything the episode did a great job with its final joke being that people have a habit of not being able to see the forest through the trees. If anything you could see the episode as a kind wink at fans who really do look too deep into thing for their theories and want to remind them that this is still a show about a boy growing up in his unusual family and coming to terms with a lot of its baggage. That and people don’t get over this kind of stuff easily or quickly. It takes years, maybe decades to come to terms with it, and that’s if they ever do.
And i’d be nice to think that rose has some secrets, but remember. Sometimes a ciggar’s a deep metaphor that’s hinting to something truly mindblowing and will forever change your view of the story, and sometimes its just a cigar. Rose might not have that many secrets. We might know pretty much everything about her at this point, or all that we really need to know.
I think the show is really held back by its 11 minutes. It can do so much more with that extra time. When was the last time we had a good episode with Garnet that wasn’t related to fusion ya know? I think that if this episode had something going on with the gems on the side it wouldn’t be as frustrating if that makes sense
Time’s a hard call. You can say its held back, but at the same time Adventure time, Regular show, Star v. the forces of evil and countless other shows are able to work with the format to tell great stories, and so does SU.
Why do so many Garnet episodes revolve around Fusion? Because she’s really the only character that you can have episode like it focused around since she is a fusion. Virtually any other character can fill Garnet’s role in any other story, so its only natural that her episodes would focus on her main defining point.
In anything though it seems, and I don’t mean for this to sound rude, but you seem upset that the series isn’t going or focusing on what you want to see, and are saying that the show’s bad for that.
I admit it really isn’t going in the direction I want but I don’t think it’s bad. i just think it could be better.
And look at Garnet in season 1 before we knew she was a fusion. She had plenty to do. It feels more like she’s Ruby and Sapphire instead of Garnet. Now I love Ruby and Sapphire, I really do, but I also love Garnet.
Steven Universe, I feel, is at a point where it needs to get to the plot and fast but alot of Season 4 was just beach city stuff. Which was fine in Season 1 & 2 for world building but now they dont do much. Why not dedicate those episodes to developing Lapis and Peridot because they reaaally got left behind. Lapis was all “It took me so long to adjust to Earth”. Sure would’ve been nice to see it.
And I hate how Bismuth is portrayed as a villain. She wasn’t evil. She didn’t want to kill all the homeworld gems, she wanted to liberate gems from their fascist leaders so they could be free like the rebellion was. Which could lead into something interesting especially with That Will Be All’s events, but they just bubble her and move on and that just sucks 🙁
The show isn’t bad, but it could be so much better. I’m not a writer or an animator (sadly) or anything but I feel like the show could just have a better way of telling its story
Well lets brake this down point by point. The issue with Garnet is like I said, Season 1 garnet can’t really exist in this story. The thing at that point was that not only did we see Garnet not as a Fusion, but it was clear that she was the closest thing to a mother that Steven had and was their leader. However since we’ve had episode’s exploring Steven’s relationship with rose, we can’t see her really try to act in that motherly role much, and if anything Steven’s become the leader of the Gem’s at this point, or at least h’es slowly taking the steps needed, and to a degree they kinda did say that was always intended. So it is what it is.
Bismuth is a bit of a hard thing to break down. Is she evil? No. But she isn’t good either. She’s more of an Anti-hero in some sense. She might have had a good cause, wanting to beat the diamonds, but honestly she wanted to do it through a violent and bloody revolution. She would kill anyone who stood by the diamonds side, and in the end put up who ever supported her line of thinking. I hate saying this, but she’s pulling some techniques right from Marx. The thing was is that she’s the ugly side of war. That really war has heroes, and its monsters on both sides, and she was a monster with some rainbow dreadlocks.
For Lapis and Peri, it simply comes down to two issues. The first being that every episode has to be told from Steven’s perspective(with one one episode being the acceptation, and its a small one at that), which intern effects how characters act since a good writer will write characters differently based on who their with, like normal people. Its kinda why Larz/Lars? is seen as a complete jerk most of the time, though seems to be a pretty decent person when alone with Sadie or hanging out with other people. Steven brings the worse out in them. In this case its just hard to write characters not wanting to put on a good face in front of Steven and having the two just interact with one another. The other issue simply is that it wouldn’t be that interesting. Its kinda like if you’ve ever see Peri’s official twitter page. Its adorable, but its rather boring since its just seeing her slowly figure out the world. With Lapis it would be seeing her take small baby steps in finding peace in the world, and would probably have to be shown as a montage to keep interesting.
As for why focus still on beach city? Simple answer is that the shows Steven Universe, not the Crystal gems. Its Steven’s story about him and the people around him, not some grand story about alien rock women. The gems are a part of the story, but not the focus of it. That’s why we need the beach city episodes. That and generally its good to write a calm period between your heavy story storms. It allows people to calm down from what happened last and bring them back high when you want them to.
But again, I don’t mean to sound rude, but what your saying is that the show could be better if it did what you wanted it to focus on, not that the show is bad and could improve on focusing on something else. Its kinda like when, dating myself a bit, when MLP was very popular a few years back you saw a lot of people kinda split when the show started focusing more on slice of life style episodes instead of a grand adventure which was what the creator wanted to do before she left. Then the series started to take on a more grand adventure tone, and a lot of people felt that the show was becoming worse, while other liked it. You can’t appease everyone and say that the show will be perfect for you at all times. Just remember that the writers will do what they want, and if you don’t find yourself enjoying it, don’t watch it. Vote with your views and hope that people follow with you. And if not, then its just one of those times you have to accept that a show just wasn’t for you and be happy that people enjoy it.
As an aside, if your ever looking for something that kinda feed that SU fix, Kemono Friends is pretty good. A bit faster pace with what it reveals compared to SU and really does put the whole What does it mean to be human angle in the forefront.

– Pokemon Radiant Platinum – A remake of platinum announced for the Switch. In the trailer they show off a huge graphics improvement, walking Pokemon, and a battle frontier.
– Animal Crossing for Switch – Pretty self explanatory, but a game similar to New Leaf that adds onto the classic gameplay of the series.
– Fire Emblem 16 Teaser – Teaser trailer for FE 2018. I want the game to have a unique concept like FE14, while showing off some cool new stuff.
– Xenoblade 2 Trailer and Gameplay – Information showcasing the concept and gameplay of the newest Xenoblade game. I’m looking forward to this game more than anything right now, so while it’s practically a given, I’m really looking forward to it.

That’d be awesome, but I don’t see it. I did ask about dream E3s though.
it was said to be in development in its early stages at 2015. It was also delayed a lot due to FF15 taking a lot of the staffers working on it to help finish it up. So it could be a 2018 release. Maybe late 2017 if we’re super lucky. If anything we know that they have the basic’s of the game finished thanks to 2.8, which is really good and worth being a glorified demo.
And yeah its unlikely to happen, but it would be fun. Mostly its not likely to happen given how controlling Nintendo is and that they would probably refuse to have cross server play like the game has, though it would be interesting to see. PC, PS4, and Nintendo players all playing together as it was intended to be.
Oh, so it hasn’t been that long I guess. I just feel like people have been waiting for KH3 for forever now.
In that case its been like 12 years since 2. Though we’ve had plenty of smaller games in-between that, Birth By sleep being the best in the series.

I have to say. Sinnoh is such a beautiful region! The pacing of it makes me take time and enjoy everything. Barry is such a beautifully fleshed out character. I just love whenever he bumps into me and threatens to sue me. Unique character/10. MT. Coronet is just an amazing place. You go through it numerous times, and all the paths confuse me just adds to massiveness of Sinnoh. The story of Black and White is probably the worst we’ve ever gotten. If they wanted to make it good, Team Plasma’s goal should’ve just been stealing Pokemon for money. It just got too complicated with the direction they went.

So two things: First are the people who are watching the Pokemon anime Japanese dub liking the new season? Is it good? From the first couple of episodes I saw it seemed pretty decent, but the more I hear about how he’s STILL on MeleMele and STILL attending the school I’m getting a little nervous. The second thing is whether there has been an announcement for the English dub to start airing on Disney yet. I know it’s airing in Canada, but I ain’t Canadian so I can’t watch that way lol (gotta love grammar am I right? lol)

So I got a fun challenge for you Showdown users for April Fools (it’s completely up to you if you want to do this):
So go on the Random Pokemon Generator website, and do these steps:
1) turn off NFE and Ubers option
2) make it have the option to generate only one Pokemon
3) choose your least favorite type as the type of Pokemon it will generate
4) generate 6 different Pokemon (none of them must be legends, and must have at least one pre-evolution)
Now that you’ve generated these 6, pick out their first stage evolutions. On Showdown, make a LC team using these Pokemon and do at least one battle with the team. Best of luck!

So I grinded my pokemon all up to level 30 and just DESTROYED Fantasia. I normally have a really hard time fighting her but I guess when you are 3 levels higher than her strongest pokemon and you have Crunch and Ominous Wind it is pretty easy…

I am at Mt. Coronet, about to face down Team Galactic. Team is all level 50. Empoleon, Rapidash, Roserade, Drifblim, Gardevoir, Rhydon.

Tbh Sinnoh is kind of tough on grass types, although I do love Roserade a lot. It just kind of is stalled. I’m planning on using it to set down some toxic spikes for Cynthia. Hopefully it can last against spiritomb. I do like my team though! I was trying to use pokemon that I like but haven’t used in a long time.
I’m using leafeon for my grass type which is kinda tough since unless you have TMS, Eeveelutions are pretty tough to use when you first get them.
I can’t wait until D/P remakes though because its going to be an all star team of my favorites since most of my faves are in the Sinnoh dex. I will only be leaving out Primarina and Furret really

My Golisopod is Defensive and nothing sratches it, while it boosts with Swords Dance just for it to latch on a opponent with all six arms and chomp down sucking blood from them butn its hard when ongoing stealth rocks cause me to go under 50% JUST TO HAVE GOLISPOD TURN TAIL AND GET THEM A SECOND TIME
Tough Claws would be busted on Golisopod, hence why I say shell armor
(I love how GF thought giving that ability to a pokemon that is easily wittled down by hazards was a smart idea)

The birds are fine but I mean thew fact that they instantly run away. The beasts were better because you had a chance to catch them every time you encountered one but with them, you had to encounter them a billion times before you could finally catch them. I actually never even caught mine.

How I learned to stop worrying and love Johto!
– The first route’s theme is amazing. A simple melody with fun instruments that gives you asense that you are taking your first steps on your own journey. It’s no one’s journey but yours
– Right off the bat you have a cave to explore, admittedly, you need flash but once you get it, you already have somewhere off the road to explore
– Silver is an actual criminal which is rad.
– The routes are filled with Apricots. They spice up what would normally be a meh route and you dont even have to replant them! They come back daily!
– Violet City is very beautiful. The dark color scheme with the lanterns shining at night makes for a very nice looking city. You also get a sense of the style of the region and a taste of lore.
– Ruins of Alph provide some cool mystery even if its just a place for the unknown to hang out.
– Here is an example of great region design. Route 36 blocks you off with Sudowoodo. It’s not a tree you can cut so that instills it in your mind. Once you return to it and battle the pokemon, you realize you can now back track to Violet City. (So you can head to the cave :P)
– Lots of great pokemon early on. Mareep, Zubat, Furret, Pidgey, Bellsprout, Hoppip and Heracross to name a few
– Another cave to explore later. This time with a Lapras you can catch on Fridays after getting surf
– Azalea Town’s beautiful music
– Johto Pokeballs
– ok yeah Ilex Forest sucks I’ll give you that
– The Kimono Girls.
– Goldenrod City is a big city done RIGHT. No maze like design, it’s not too big, it’s easy to find everything for the most part, it has the magnet train, the underground area, a GTS area which was a big deal at the time and more great music!
– Whitney is an awesome gym leader. Say what you want but there is no other gym leader people have as much trouble with.
– National Park. I dont think that needs explaining
– The bug catching contest is another cool daily event
– Ecruteak City.
– The legendary beasts. I love how they made you WORK for the legionaries if you wanted them before the end of the game. You didnt just get to have them (ORAS) Plus their backstories are great.
– The towers

– I just like Route 39 alot
– BATTLE FRONTIER BOIZZ
– Best Safari Zone. Customizing your safari zone makes it so much more interesting.
– Route 47 (WITH HOENN LEGENDS IN THE POST GAME)

– Jasmine is shown outside her gym helping Amphy and thats rad
– The Red Gyardos and the Lake of Rage are awesome.
– Team Rocket is just as cool in this one.

– Many of the gym leaders have a presence in the world and aren’t just a trainers sitting in a room… mostly

The one cutscene in Pokemon that was just awful was the one with Shauna and the fireworks. It had potential to be greater, but the fact that this cutscene should’ve been later in the game and the fact that we don’t give a shit about Shauna (since we just met her and her character is shit) makes it somewhat cringey.

We need more choice in the games altogether. Like in XY they were hyping up the fact that you had the choose the right button and then nothing. For example, maybe slightly change the story or events of DPPt based on which lake you visit first, or something.

It’s hard to have choice-influenced Pokemon games due to their linearity. They’d essentially have to be rebuilt to do something as you described.
But I mean, who says they have to be linear, story wise? There can be a decent amount of choice influenced events without taking away the way the character progresses through the region

Are you kidding? The character all play vastly differently from each other and have very interesting designs. No character is too similar to another. That also shows in their cultural origins. Their voice lines, skins, emotes, highlight intros, even their designs and powers show what kind of person they are. You look at them and you instantly understand who they are.
The maps are almost perfect. You play to the very different depending on what side you are on. You are never at a point where one side has the advantage for too long. The balance always shifts. Just watch Extracredit’s video on it because they sun it up better than I can

ehh, its kinda 50/50. The initial outrage seems to be that they claimed that youtube was running ad’s on a video that contained hate speech, when in reality its more a third party taking advantage of bots to claim the video and run ad’s due to music in it. If anything it depends on how each side decides to proceed.
Ideally it’ll be youtube admitting that this is a major oversight on their part and say that they’ll need to fix it, while the WSJ would need to state an apology for jumping the gun a bit and slandering youtube.

I just have a hard time deciphering Emojis. Some are super clear, others I can ascribe multiple conflicting meanings too, so I don’t know how to read those ones. I’m also dyslexic so I’m sure that’s not helping.

Hmm, so kinda off topic, but it’s been kinda interesting to see the divide among people over Ghost in the Shell. Personally I thought the movie was pretty good, certainly worthy of a few awards for its effects.
I still have to see the original animated version. Maybe I’ll do that tonight…I’ll watch that new one when it’s free on On Demand 😛
I have to do the same. It seems that the general complaints are a mix of the generic “white Washing” babble, but people also saying that its not as deep as the first film, which is debatable. It still try’s to bring up some good points, mainly about the value of memories in a world where they can be altered or taken away on demand, but doesn’t try to focus on it to the point that it would make the average viewer lose interest.
All I’ve really heard is that the special effects are good, but the story just isn’t there and isn’t nearly as satisfying as the original. Since we’re talking about “bad” movies, I saw Independence Day Resurgence recently for the heck of it and it was really, really bad. I doubt it could be worse than that.
I really wouldn’t even call the story bad. Simple perhaps, but not really bad. It’s more of a story about someone coming to terms with having an artificial body, how they think of them self and how everyone else thinks of them. Yes it is kinda simple with the villain being a generic business man who sees the main character as a robot and wants to end her when he realizes he can’t be easily controlled, but that’s kinda part of the movies theme.
I guess its more one of those cases where this movie does have some depth to it, but its more of a case of whether or not you want to dig into it. Its like watching Rick and Morty. One person could see a fun comedy that’s super cynical and mostly about showing gross-out humor and people being horrible, where another person could see the show as a metaphor for Rick being cthulhu, destroy worlds without a second thought simply because he’s become so dead inside that he just doesn’t care any more and threats everything around him as something disposable, with the rare case of his humanity still shining through in certain actions. The movie’s like that. Personally I walked away really entertained, asking a few questions, and hoping to see more. Hopefully after the shouting dies down we’ll see it have better success in the future and an outcry for more cyberpunk movies.
