200+ I stopped keeping count because I was beginning to get disguraged but if I had to hazard a guess I would say I’m at like 280 maybe 300 I really don’t know lol. Just hatching and releasing and hoping for the best?
Using basic binomial probability, if the prob. of finding a shiny is p=1/819 (Masuda + Shiny charm, which I’m guessing you have), then the odds of not finding a shiny after n eggs is given by
P(n)=(818/819)^n
For P(n)=.5, that is after how many eggs can you expect to have gotten a shiny 50% of the time, n=567. So you’re almost there (In theory!)
I’m using the Masuda method and shiny charm. Thank you for your kind words and explanation this is my first time actively breeding for a shiny so I was beginning to think I did something wrong. Thanks again for the reassurance! ?
Don’t want to discourage you, but I used the masuda method (no shiny charm though) and it took me ~2700 eggs. Still, like I said, even if you end up getting close to that number, don’t give up, it will eventually appear.

Math has a lot more to do with abstractions and logic than it does with rote memorization (like what I’m assuming is happening to you). Probability & Statistics (in general) is one of the hardest areas of math for me b/c I can’t abstract it well, even though it’s considered one of the easiest. Whereas Calculus was a breeze for me, because it was largely abstract (how I was taught it).
I’d assume game design follows more of the logic path, which you aren’t really taught in high school. Geometry does a half-ass attempt at introducing proofs, and that’s about it.

Hippowdon is probably the best at being a mixed wall (depends how you invest in the EVs). Specially Defensive Gliscor can also take hits from both ends of the sepctrum
