Spent 8 minutes looking at a Scrabble dictionary and thesaurus seeing what ‘m’ word I could use as the verb in my headline. Certainly a bit of a stretch on my part, but The Pokémon Company has announced that missing Mega Stones will be awarded as entry prizes for upcoming online battle tournaments. Specifically mentioned were Mawilite and Beedrillite which are slated to be given out in late February.
This may be seen as a boon for some fans, while others may have preferred all of the stones simply being included from the beginning or even the ability to download them without the hassle of registering for a competition.

Meh, I don’t mind having to register for the competitions (I’ve managed to always secure my entry in past ones where I also only wanted to get the gift) and lose all the battles just to get the stones.
It just confuses me why couldn’t they just include all the stone in the game in the first place. Why have all this convoluted process for something that was their main campaign just one gen ago?
Like, they have the Primal Orbs, the Sinnoh trio Orbs, the DNA Splicers, etc. in the game and none of the respective pokémon appear in S&M, so why did they do it differently for Megas? It’s pure non-sense.
I just hope it doesn’t take the whole Gen to get all the stones.

Fire Elemental’s design hasn’t been finalised yet, but it will be associated with magma, glass and flame, being Fire/Rock.

From the lore standpoint of they’re posed to be these rare things, I kinda get it, but what abut the people who can’t enter the competitions?
Do you guys think they made incineroar’s design a wrestler to compliment Kukui’s “masked royal” alter ego? Cause if you choose Rowlet, he uses one and I’ve always kind of thought that there are starters that each character is meant to possess from a story standpoint.
Never thought of it like that but tbh, protag picking Decidueye (most popular, fitting the protag role) Kukui picking Incineroar (wrestler theme) and Hau picking Primarina (he’s always jolly and Primarina is the most lighthearted starter out of the three) it fits really well

Ehh I wouldn’t call Torracat’s design change sudden, but it certainly wasn’t obvious. I felt like it gradually becoming more and more temperamental and the underlying theme of cats being notorious for fighting and being assholes kinda naturally lead to the wrestler route

With Shackle, seed, aroma, and roost the thing can stall for days
I can see Leech Seed (it gets Synthesis) but it really doesn’t suit Aromatherapy because it isn’t flower based or medical based

my own opinion I feel like The Pokémon Company could have released SOME of the Mega Stones via online competitions while others (majority) could have been added to the Battle Tree Prize area and SOME for sale at Kahuna Olivia’s shop in Koni Koni City. I think it would make the Trainers much happier if they were distributed through different “avenues” within the game.
