Pokémon Mascot Showdown: Generation VII

Hey everybody, due to certain circumstances, we’re bringing you the last regional Mascot Showdown a little bit later! The winner of the last showdown is Xerneas with 53%.
Let’s move on to our last region: Alola. This brand new region is the startpoint for Generation VII – bringing incredible, new features like Trials, Z-Moves, the Battle Royal, Poké Rides, regional variants and so much more!

Pokémon Sun Version

Pokémon Sun featured Solgaleo, the Sunne Pokémon, on its cover. It resembles a more robust white lion design complete with a galaxy motif on its forehead. Its crownlike spikes and its tuffs of fur around its head resemble a sun. Among the people of Alola, it’s known as the beast that devours the sun and has therefore been honored as its emissary.

Solgaleo is the only known Pokémon that can learn the move Sunsteel Strike. Along with Lunala, its counterpart, it’s the only Legendary Pokémon that’s part of an evolutionary line. Not to mention it also has the highest HP-stat of all Steel-type Pokémon. Its name comes from ‘sol‘ (Latin for ‘sun’), ‘Galileo‘ (the man who proved that the Earth rotated around the sun) and ‘leo‘ (Latin for ‘lion’).

Pokémon Moon Version

Lunala, the Moone Pokémon, graced the cover of Pokémon Moon. It’s a large skeleton-like bat whose wings seem to resemble the moon, and are made of the night sky. Much like Solgaleo, it can travel between our dimension and the Ultra Space. Additionally, it’s called the beast that calls the moon, thus gaining the title “emissary of the moon” by the Alolan people.

Lunala‘s signature move is called Moongeist Beam. While Solgaleo is called the male evolution of Cosmog, Lunala is called the female one. Its name derives from ‘luna‘ (Latin for ‘moon’) and ‘ala‘ (Latin for ‘wing’).

  1. I should go, I need to calm down and lose the anger, there’s no point in staying when I’m at my boiling point, if I explode it’ll get worse.

    • Tbh I think GF is done with 3rd versions
I know you can never tell but they havent don’t one since platinum. I think from now on it’s either sequel’s/prequel or just next gen

      • Yeah, seeing how they’re easy money you’d think if they were continuing there’d be an indication but that’s two Gens now without one

    • Another tbh but im going to be disappointed if we do get a home conslle main story game that doesn’t have two regions. Do you know how much data hone consoles games can hold?… Idk either but probably much more than 3ds. Buying a whole console to pay for a console game (which are normally $60) is way too much for a typical no post game one region Pokemon game. If we do get Stars on Switch I better see Alola+Kalos/Kanto/new region

  2. Basically my honest opinions
Solgaleo- I will admit right now, I do REALLY like it, its honestly a very good design. For me it just had the misfortune of being against Lunala, but I’d still say Solgaleo is a REALLY cool legendary
Lunala- I wanted a bat legendary, so badly. And it’s a ghost.., I can go on for days on why I love this thing, making it my third favorite legendary of all time.

  3. Right so long story short I’m writing a fanfic (lel like it’ll ever exist) and I need help

Basically legendaries are deities and nature spirits (few exceptions)

What should I make Necrozma the God of?

  4. A fun thing to think about
Solgaleo and Lunala require light for energy
    Necrozma makes/refracts light
And the three are all psychic type

  5. honestly I didn’t even think anyone liked Solgaleao let alone for it to be winning, Lunala is more popular in general than it

Do you guys like it when Pokémon is more realistic and/or sci-fi, or when it’s more fantastical?
