I never cared until about XY when I decided to swap to Pokeballs for a bit of extra challenge.
that awkward moment when I was getting better IV’s before I had the destiny knot…. now I’m stuck at 4 perfect Iv’s as the max outcome but most of the offspring come out with only 2IV’s and the rest are terrible. A 4 or 5IV male would be nice… get on that ok vulpix!
Just keep switching out the parents with higher IV ones. You’ll get there eventually

They definitely need a ‘no legendary’ option for battle restrictions. Having whole teams of legendaries is dull. One or two maybe, but not all 6.
Well the thing is, they only let you have one “special” Pokémon on your team, meaning: Lunala, Solgaleo, Magearna or Ash Greninja. But since Ash Greninja is on that list, why not UBs and Tapus as well? THAT would be fair.

They bitch and whine that Legend is just a word, no it’s fucking not, they’re much stronger then regular Pokemon and unless your team is their direct counter they will be trouble

Yeah I tend to, seems fun to add in the nature for a personality for my Pokemon. Usually I do this with a team I use in walkthroughs
I just follow their species temperament
Like Garchomp is wild and ferocious often shrieking in psychotic joy as it blazes after opponents (And when he Mega Evolves he becomes merciless and sadistic)
But Seismitoad is very…..grungy almost stoner like. He’s thick and extremely laid back, his blubbery body just swaying about absorbing blow after blow snickering to himself feeling no pain, but that thick brain lets him shrug off Special Attacks like nothing and when you have your back turn he’ll blast you with Scald or Drain Punch
And of course, loses some of its flesh when it megas
Whelp I think I’m giving up on the Battle of Alola. It’s clear that I’m out of my league. I’ve done better than I thought I did, but with as many losses as I have it’s clear to me that I stand no chance against most of the people competing. It’s a good learning experience tho and I certainly have some ideas for next time. I did no prep really for this competition and my real goal was to get the BPs anyway which I have done now. The whole ting is interesting at the very least. I’ll have to get my Pokemon up lvl 100 and Hyper train before the next one so I’m better prepared lol

Like 3:6. It’s not great hahaha A good amount of the battles were actually pretty close, but ultimately it came down to speed or just picking the wrong Pokemon from my team to go out. I’ve never really battled competitively before so this is all rather new to me. lol

Potentially, and maybe I will, but I also don’t think I’m totally ready yet for this. My team definitely needs fine tuning regardless and even if I keep going it’s likely I won’t fare well. I’m not trying to be pessimistic or anything. I just want to do the best I can hahaha
That’s what I hate about these battles. There’s so much guesswork, which doesn’t reward team building. Especially when almost all the Pokémon are UBs and Tapus…
Yeah that’s the thing the UBs and Tapus are in almost every team I face. Whether they use them or not is hit and miss, but the fact that people are using them everywhere is annoying. Lost my last battle against a Pheromosa…..

Yeah makes sense. I just joined for the most part to get the 50 BPs, but played a little more just to see how I would do. I am definitely not ready for competitive play tho. I can sometimes hold my own, but ultimately most other teams are so prepped for it that my Pokemon come up short. lol
I’m loving that Snowygast theme! So what’s the best way to quickly raise a Pokemon’s happiness? I feel like I’m wasting my time by leveling up constantly.

I was just about to comment on that! That would be a nice regional variant outside of Alola.
Soothe Bell while leveling up obviously; stat-boosting vitamins; massages; EV-lowering berries (even if the EVs of that stat can’t go any lower it’ll still raise happiness).

There’s a lady in Konikoni who will offer you a massage once per day, and there’s friendship meals in certain stands in the festival plaza that increase friendship (but they’re also limited to once per day and cost FC).
And then there’s the hotsprings part of the pokepelago which will increase friendship providing you have beans to use.
And there’s also berries that increase friendship at the cost of lowering EVs, which is probably best because EVs can’t go into minus numbers and start out all at 0 anyway.

Why do you hate on a sub legends? For example, some people hate sub legends (the bst 570-600 legends). And i dont understand the hate. It’s not like their stats are super high. Pseudos have 600 unless you call pseudos op. Its kinda “pokemon racist” (lol) lumping them in catergory then hating on them.

the only tapu that is a threat is lele. Koko dies to anything, Fini is set up bait and Bulu grassy terrain is awful. I dont hate them tbh, heck Chansey is worse than all those 4
Koko is good as a frail sweeper and Bulu is immensely strong in Grassy Terrain
But the only ones who’s not situational, I’d agree, is Lele
It’s not just about base stats though. It’s about movepool, ability and typing. Tapus have OP abilities and Pokémon like them require you to replace Pokémon you might want to use in favor of direct counters.

I admit that I do like some legends, especially design-wise. I love using Assault Vest Meloetta, because it’s good (but not OP) and I love its design. I do like the Tapus design-wise, but I can’t stand people who use more than one of them in the same team. So many people who use legends and UBs have at least two or three of them in their team.
And why is that? People may like those pokemon a lot.
Two of them are manageable I guess, but if you have three or more than that’s when they become over-powered (assuming the player knows how to play competitively) and you have to build a team just to deal with them.
And how is it different than having other teams? You dont need one pokemon or type to deal with sub legends
I guess it’s more so of an issue in 3v3 battles. 6v6 I can manage them much better.

It’s difficult, but you have be signed into the pokemon website before you can sign up. That always confuses me. Then go to the pokemon global link website. Click on the competition you want to enter then it should give an option to sign up. (May be a little off because this is by memory). Also it’s too late to join BoA but this can help you for next time

The Sinnoh forms are tricky. It’d have to be something not available in DPPt because otherwise they would have to somehow explain why there weren’t Sinnohan forms then, unless the remakes are ridiculously far in the future.
