I’m not knowledgeable in the American school system (don’t cope with the English, Welsh and Irish ones and they’re right beside me), but isn’t your finals how you get your grades?
We get grades through out the class and the finals tend to be a percentage of your total grade. For my county at least, its 10 percent

Over here, the final is everything or at least around half of your grade. The other halfish will be a practical assessment or assignment work.

If you did very well in the assignment or practical, you have a chance of getting a D (which is considered a pass but no one cares about it), C, or B
Every class I know of has some sort of assignment, folio or practical, so it isn’t too bad.

At least in my experience with high school (ages 14-18), there aren’t any finals. You might have some kind of big exam at the end of the year if you’re in an AP (college level stuff) class or have an EOC (mandated examination), but those aren’t a part of your grade. I had one teacher give a final, and that final was a percent of your grade.

Never heard of it. The four countries in the UK each have different educational systems-maybe its a England thing?
Here our levels are National 4, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher, but you’re not levelled until your fourth year there.
For reference, Advanced Highers tend to be on par with the first year or two of University.
I think maybe A-levels is an English thing, but IB is definitely all over the world. It’s probably similar to Advanced Highers. The weird thing about IB is that it’s the same content as other University classes, but we have so many more examinations throughout the year.

Apparently they only run in two schools in Scotland. Neither of my cities Universities or tons of schools run it, and keep in mind I don’t live out in the country: I live in the Scotland’s richest city.

For me, they’re like 20% for end of semester finals, and 15% of your grade for quarterly finals.

Say I have a geometry class (which is true).
The quarterly final is worth 15% of my total grade for the class, and the semesterly final is worth an additional 20% of my grade.

I think they do it in this way over here due to the fact they’re wanting to imprint these courses into your mind so you don’t just forget them.
We do get a practice exam for each (a prelim, which iirc can be used for your grade if extraordinary circumstances prevent you from entering the exam) and unit assessments you have to pass to get into the exam though.
Ugh, sounds nice. At my school, literally ALL people care about is grades. They don’t focus on whether or not you know the material, they just judge you based on your grades.
Personally it shouldn’t even be called learning, I’m not really learning anything except how to memorize facts and spit them out onto a paper for a number. I really really hate how the school system works this days.

Universities have entry requirements! You have to get the grades they want when you apply. Do you have anything similar?
Yeah, you have to have top-of-the-class grades to get in, on top of the thousands upon thousands of dollars you’re paying. We also have exams such as the SAT and ACT that people take in the few years before college to get in.
It’s a lot more than grades. While you need to have good grades and what not, colleges won’t choose you because you have a 4.0. You need to show that you’re an interesting, engaging person, and that you would fit with the university.
Trust me, I know, having been rejected from every top school I applied to with a 4.0 unweighted GPA.
I know, and I hate that so much. Hopefully being on the development team for a video game is interesting enough for them.

I just got lucky though, because the finals I did have were take-home
So I got extremely bored, and as the vice-house captain of my house in school (grabbing all the accolades and volunteering I can for the cred as well as just helping people), I looked up the Scottish exam dates and helped my class plan out stuff by telling them how much days they had in between.
Which brings me to my question: would you rather have exams over and done with, or spread out over a longer time?

There’s a lot of scholarships out there, you just need to look for them. Talk to your school’s CAP (or just college) advisor. Questbridge, Posse, etc. are good ones from what I’ve seen.

Yeah, not to get too political or anything, but to get into college, you need money. But to make that much money these days, you need a good degree. It’s a huge problem right now actually (well, I think at least, I’m not very current).
In England you can get loans you don’t have to pay back unless you make over a certain amount by a certain time period, but still it’s a big burden to carry
Oh yeah, there’s a huge debate on whether at all college is even worth the debt these days.
I chose no, I feel I’m suffering from it, 22, useless, in and out of minor jobs, huge waste of potential, perhaps the debt was worth it to at least look like I was trying
It’s a very tough position to be in, really not looking forward to it. TBH america is kinda screwing over their next generation.

I’m in a really lucky position because it’s free for me too*. For those of you in the US, try so hard to get National Merit. At least in Florida (I don’t know where else), you get a full-ride to your first-choice university.
*It’s actually based on the cost of attendance, which is an overestimation. I profit about $5000 a semester

Scotland ain’t a utopia. Free uni, yeah, but their desire to be diverse kinda screws you over if you’re applying for a competing subject and you’re not some sort of minority (hello homosexuality and potential ADHD, for once you’re helping me out).
And the places with the good unis have high rent (Aberdeen is known as the Silver City-its meant to be because of the granite, but I’d say it’s because it’s in second place as the most expensive place to live in the UK) or low job opportunities (Aberdeen, again)-oooor both (Aberdeen, you’re getting slated).
Nowhere’s perfect, of course.
Scotland has it’s upsides and downsides just like everywhere else.
But I must ask, what was the point of this? Did you think that we thought it was perfect?
It’s probably better than the other 3 parts of the UK.
For the universities, probably (sans Oxford and a few other stuff but that’s a world renowned one, not a common one)

I’ve been looking through the Melemele Dex and I saw Zubat as my next target to catch but I just realized something. Compared to the other games, I’ve barely seen Zubat at all. Like probably 2 or 5 times. It’s ironic when you think about it, the Pokemon world’s most annoying thing to run into in RB is practically unheard of in SM.

My favourite build is Ringabel with Black Knight as main Job and Sword Mage as Secondary. With Dual Wield and Drain Magic on the using the strongest Black Knight attacks which use HP. Enormous damage = enormous drain.

*Lvl 60 – Liepard

After that battle, you’ll get a ‘Cutie Badge’ which would be from the Gen 4 remake exclusive gym, the Felinacia City Gym. Afterwards, you need to get the Skitty Charm and head to the top of Mount Lankila. There, you use it and first 3 Pokemon that appear;
– “Totem” Persian – lvl 60
– “Totam” Male Pyroar – lvl 62
– “Totem” Mew – lvl 66
Afterwards it appears U.B 09 is only 1’09, and has the shape of a cat. It is Poison-Fairy.
Upon catching it, Cynthia will challenge a 1-1 battle with this new UB, and after victory, Cynthia will give you the Sinnoh Ribbon for it.

Serperior’s defenses are basically the same, and it’s way faster. Plus tsareena only gets one decent physical grass move and even then it’s only 70 power. Floppp. Slow mono grass pokemon are likely dead after the first turn, even with good defense. Too many weaknesses
that physical grass type always lower its attack, making Tsareena able to survive more hits. She also has access to Synthesis, and Dual Screens making it more durable. If she cant survive? she has access to the u-turn. Also she is blessed with rapid spin. Also tsareena has a niche many grass types dont have and that the beauty of Play Rough and HJK coverage. Only poison types are Tsareena weakness

I would be adding onto the post-game of SM:
After you beat all of the Title Defense battles, you wake up at you house with your Mom saying Hala wants to meet you at Iki Town. Once you’ve gone up their, Hala and Hau are present, with Hala stating he’ll give you and Hau two tickets to take a boat to Kanto.
After you get to Kanto, Hau states he’ll go find his father and so for the most of the region he tags along with you as you beat all the Gym Leaders. After the 5th badge, Lillie would be outside of the gym with a tearful reunion. As you go to the Pokemon League, you find it is now the World Pokemon League, with all Champions, a lot of previous gen rivals, and also Hau’s father who’s become slightly egotistical. The league is stylized as a tournament, so it is essentially a bigger Elite Four. When you reach the finals, you battle Hau’s dad, which after he loses, he becomes angry and frustrated at his lost, yet changes his mind when Hau cheers him up and starts to recognize his son. With this, you are the Pokemon World Champion, as the crowds cheers for you. You, Hau, Hau’s father, and Lillie return to Iki Town in Alola, which is meet with a celebration of you becoming World Champion. During this, Lillie challenges you to a battle, to show how strong she’s become.
The level scaling in the quest is backwards.
Here’s my story:
After you beat the UB quest, Anabel says “hey, there’s a battle frontier in Alola”. Then you go to said battle frontier, and it’s fun.

The two are in Olivia’s shop, taking interest in the minerals. Roark and Olivia flirt a bit before Byron embarrasses his son. You come in, Roark wants to unleash his frustrations and Byron wants to join in. Olivia forces you all outside.

She is still freaked out by Trevanant, but is starting to warm up to it. She and Acerola thank you as Gardenia leaves. Nanu stops by, and asks the player if they wants to join the Trial Captains and Kahunas as well as the Sinnoh GLs-they’re comparing trials with Gyms, and it will be at the battle buffet as soon as all the Sinnoh Gym Leaders return.
3) Fantina
This fabulous woman is in Poni Meadow, dancing with an Oricorio. She has been entranced by these beautiful Pokémon, and she asks one to join her team. It happily complies. She then sees you coming and challenges you to a battle to test her new ally.

Once you beat her, she thanks you for the battle and reveals she knows you’re the Champion of Alola-and she looks forward to dining with you later,she then leaves.
4) Crasher Wake
He’s in the Seafolk Village, trying to wrestle with Hapu’s grandmother’s Machamp. He’s winning, and is being cheered on. He sees you coming as he defeats Machamp, and having already bested Hapu (who requests you defeat him), he challenges you on sight.

Wishiwashi/Gastrodon/Poliwrath/Floatzel/Mega Gyarados
After you win, he states how hungry he is and that he better return to the battle buffet so the meal can happen faster. When he leaves, Hapu comments how he was right outside a restaurant the whole time, before leaving for the dinner herself. She offers to take you to Melemele with her.
5) You’re back in the Battle Buffet, where Hala announces they’re going to have a festival celebrating the cultures of both regions after the buffet. Everyone is excited, but Candice, Volkner, Flint, Lucian and Aaron are all gone. It is revealed Cynthia and the E4 showed up, and if you’ve beaten Cynthia in the tree, she promises you a battle because she knows how strong you are. Otherwise she’ll just day she wants to fight the Champion of Alola.
6) Candice is on Mount Lanakila, getting herself an Icium. She notes how she doesn’t have a Z-Ring and gets frustrated with herself, and asks you to battle to help her chill out.

You can now challenge the Sinnoh GLs (individually or in random pairs) on the blank lots throughout the game, as they all decided to stay in those cities/areas for now. Roark is staying with Olivia and is thus found in Konikoni.
The Sinnoh E4 will battle you as title defense matches, but can each be found in certain places.

After this she’ll be found at the Dimensional Research Lab helping Burnet due to her experience with the Creation Trio. In rematches, shell leave for different ruins, either one of the Tapu ruins, the lake, or the altar.

Whelp I’ve officially gotten started in the Battle of Alola. I’ve battle 7 people so far….aaaaannnnd I’ve only won like twice…..Still doing better than I thought I’d do tho. Most of my battles have been very close and the last one I did I nearly won. Got beat by a Necrozma with Earthquake and all I had left was my incineroar. If I had been a little bit faster then I’d have won indefinitely. Anyway I’ve been putting up a good fight for having done no prep for this, my Pokemon not being at lvl 100 for Hyper training yet, and it being my first time in any kind of competition. At the very least this is all great experience. I have to admit in the really close battles I really feel like I’m getting into. It’s so cool to be in battles with real people. Just wish I was a bit more knowledgeable about the metagame and that my pride would let me use the legends more…..lol Anyway, I my not do the max amount of battles we’re allowed each day, but it’s all certainly fun and maybe in the next competition I’ll actually have a better idea of what I want to do both team wise and strategy wise.

-Emma’s mask literally has a huge “E” on it. How could you not notice that looker?
-Espurr is adorable and how dare she kick it
-Overall it was rather pointless. Nothing happened, not even a Xerosic or Malva cameo..
-Did a good job of portraying the emptiness of Lumiose Cafes at that end scene

Instruct cannot summon moves that call other moves, I’m guessing that includes Instruct.
But if it worked, they’d just instruct each other until one runs out of PP and then the loop breaks.
