How to catch Togepi, Pichu & more in Pokémon GO!

There are some brand new Pokémon now in the mobile hit Pokémon GO (iOS/Android) for trainers to obtain, as well as a special holiday version of Pikachu starting today.

Pichu and Togepi, both introduced in Pokémon Gold & Silver, can now be hatched from eggs within the game. There are more secrets to discover though, as it seems Cleffa, Igglybuff, Tyrogue (is its evolution Hitmontop available?!), Elekid and Magby can also be hatched from eggs!

Holiday Pikachu can also be evolved into an equally festive Raichu too, so don’t stop training!

  1. This Global Mission was to have all players catch 100 million Pokémon. Unfortunately, the mission is counted as a failure as only 16,423,231 Pokémon were caught and catalogued at that time.

  2. I found it odd how Colress fit the Aether Aesthetic and yet wasn’t connected to them in any way. When we first meet him on Route 8 I was sure he had something to do with the Aether Building behind him, honestly thought we’d see more of him. However the question remains Unanswered, was he working for Aether, or was he just there?

  3. Ok I’m either missing something here or they’ve changed how Fake Out works.. I used Fake Out on a Caterpie and it didn’t flinch

    • granbull should of been fighting instead of normal before gen 6, then become fighting/Fairy in the gen 6 onwards, i even thought it was fighting when i first saw it when i was young

    • It possesses very little fighting type qualities

You think it does because of its face and looks but you are wrong, the damn mutt is mostly all bark and no bite since their temperament is actually timid and docile only bearing its fangs when needed

  5. Today is the start of eternal suckage
I think my tinnitus is getting worse…

A constant pitch in my ears, I try to drown it out with as much white noise as humanly possible but my brain still hears it, it always hears it!

But I swear this Switch thingy better show at least a few good games to give the whole “reasons not to off myself” a good kick in the pants at least one freaking 3D adventure platformer

And before I slink back into my sad little world I hatched a perfect 6iv Jangmo-o in a heavy ball

  6. Changed my mind about the Switch. Might buy it at launch if it comes with more games that appeal to me than just Super Mario.

          • Lol. Well basically my county lets you skip your finals if you have 90 points average or above and less than three missed days so I just have to get English up and I can skip 3 whole days and get an early start for Christmas break

          • Nice!

We don’t have anything like that, you have to show up for the unit assessments so you can do the exam, and the prelim (practice exam) and if you’re not in the school when exams happen you’ve failed unless it’s extreme circumstances

  7. So in Modeen Studies our teacher literally greeted us into the classroom playing the American national anthem and with the US flag wrapped around her

I’m guessing she might be a bitty excited for it? I might be reading too deep into it

    • I want a Poison/Fairy because it just seems like it makes the most sense, just like fairy/dark because fairies are known for being mischievous and sometimes lethal.

Dual types I don’t want to see more of would be normal/flying and rock/ground

      Reply
    • Fairy/Poison, my two favourite types (it’s became a draw after Gen VII)

Groune/Water, all the Pokémon that are in it are good enough but they’re all just slimy amphibious animals I’d love to see an amphibious non-slimy animal or a geyser or something

      Reply
      • Funny thing I did have a idea for a little living geyser

It’s would be either Rock/Water or Ground/Water or Fire/Water, and it’s this craggy walking landmass with a gaping snaggletoothed mouth filled with water with a funnel atop its head (look up that Mario and Luigi dream team boss Mt Pajamaja), they constantly store water in their mouths and blast it at prey then swiftly devour it, the hungrier they get the more water they drink to attack with

I just want Gen 8 to finally fill in all the type cracks and actually make a gigantic Pokemon roster with all the remaining unused type combos. none of this one or few types per Pokemon like the last two gens, because those lazy twats are really phoning it in with Pokemon (like notice nearly every Pokemon in sun and moon have unqiue abilities)

I want to see at least 5-6 Pokemon of each type and not including Legends and mythicals

      Reply
      • I’m sorry, but good designs (or at least designs that are up to a standard, as good is subjective) are more important than new type combos

And its probably easier to give unique abilities anyway, seeing as u can just make a new one if old ones don’t fit, or you can make a new fitting one much easier than a type

        Reply
        • sorry fairy this time I agree with earthen (wtf), there is no such thing as a good or bad design within this spectrum, because everyone likes different things, I know that some of my favourite pokemon for example are said to be poorly designed by the masses, yet I love them, it doesn’t make my opinion any more or less valid than theirs, gen 5 had just as many good pokemon as gen 7 and so on and so forth

          Reply
          • For one, I never mentioned Gen 5

Also, anyone with eyes will see that Pokémon are designed to a standard. You may not like it, but a thought process was put into it. Anyone who claims it is ‘poorly designed’ is either meaning ‘I don’t like the design’ or is trying to make the objective subjective.

And forcing a bunch of designs just to fulfill dual types would result in a total rush job.

          • I never said you mentioned gen 5, I only did because they have a huge number of pokemon in it. I also said they never have to rush, they could come up with just as many good pokemon in a short amount of time as a long time, they could also hire more designers if they really wanted to expand their creative pot as it were, for example there were quite a few gen 5 pokemon designed by a guy in the UK and they all have a unique twist. Pokemon is pokemon, they are not going to suddenly diminish their quality overnight, but if they don’t have your trust by now, that all their designs are fine then where does that leave us

          • I have no doubts of their creative skill and the quantity of Pokémon, my point is that rushing dual types just for the sake of dual types will effect objective quality

Less time means less concept time, less concept art time, less time to finalise the art.

And ‘just hire more people’ is

            A) expensive
            B) also potentially harmful, as a larger crew means more disconnect between all the designers

Gen V didn’t suffer because its Pokémon were made normally, not to fulfill dual types willy nilly. In fact, very little of its Pokémon were introduced as uniquely typed

  8. Random Question Assortment!

    1) Do you have multiple favourite types?
    2) Cats or dogs?
    3) Colour of the sky right now?
    4) Favourite movie?
    5) Type that is the closest to not needing to exist?

          • How so? I’d say it does a fine job of balancing the three offensive types which only had two weaknesses, and buffing the two worst offense types in the game

Wouldn’t mind if another type resisted it though

          • It sounds fine on paper, trying to give Steel and Poison more offensive use and Nerfing three common offensive types.
But practically, it being weak to Poison and steel means it’s weak to only two ,fairly uncommon offensive types, and it resists and is immune to the three best offensive types in the game

It also has a random resistance to bug..

Make it weak.to ghost, problem solved

          • The thing is though, there’s only three non-Mega Fairies in Gen VI OU (and probably the Tapu this Gen, but they’re pretty much there because Terrain), so even if it seems OP on paper they’re clearly doing something to balance it, even if unintentionally

Wouldn’t mind the removal of the bug resistance, but a ghost weakness just feels a bit weird. They’re just so similar that a weakness either way would be weird.

    • 1) Fairy, Ghost, Dragon
      2) Why not both?
      3) I cant see past the snow, so white
      4)?
      5) Rock, why not just ground. If I see fairy for this you’re wrong.

      4. Don’t really have one. Probably Back to the Future if you had to twist my arm over it.
      5. rock/ground. Both are so similar that they might as well be one type. call them the earth type or something. Heck it’ll only help them out in the grand scheme.

All the shtick about competitive being harder this Gen is way over exaggerated

Battle items and hidden abilities are still a bitch tho

      • I’ve also managed to breed all my Pokemon so far with the correct IVs within half an hour each….that’s much faster than last gen.
Taurus also hatches eggs quicker than the bike, or is that just me?

          • I dunno if it was buffed or the RNG is just being nice to us this Gen.

Also I’ve almost got 2 each of the Power Items now, will make life so much easier.

Still annoyed at the severe lack of leveling up options. Seriously all I have is to battle the E4 over and over again.

          • TBF levelling up isn’t as important this Gen due to the move relearner buff

The option would be nice though, especially with the ridiculous level requiery for Hyper Training.

          • Battle Tree and Battle Royales don’t automatically lvl you to 50 though.

And you’ve still got some high lvl evolutions.

          • I can get the up to lvl 50, but it was much quicker last gen, and you could grind money at the same time. Battle Chateau is surely missed.
