Greetings everyone, here is another Mascot Pokémon Showdown. The winner of last time is Zekrom with 35%!
Now it’s time for Kalos. Generation VI released in 2013 with a worldwide release for the first time. This generation contained just two main games, namely X and Y, and featured some great new stuff like the Fairy-typing, Mega Evolution and trainer customization.

Pokémon X Version

Pokémon X showcased Xerneas, the Life Pokémon. It’s the first Fairy-type Legendary and is a stag-like creature shaped like an X. The horns on its head contain the colors of the rainbow and can grant someone eternal life. When it’s at the end of its own life, it transforms into a tree and sleeps for 1000 years.

There is no other Pokémon known than Xerneas that can learn the move Geomancy, making it the only Legendary Mascot whose signature move is a status move. It has the same stat distribution as Yveltal, but has the highest base stat total and Attack stat of all non-Mega Evolved Fairy-type Pokémon. Its name may come from the letter ‘X‘ and ‘cervus‘ (Latin for ‘deer’).

Pokémon Y Version

Pokémon Y featured Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon. It is an avian Pokémon with the Dark/Flying type combo. Its wings and tail make the letter Y when fully extended. It has the power to absorb life energy. In contrast to Xerneas, Yveltal sucks all the life energy of every living thing around it when it is at the end of its life, creating a cocoon of itself so it can sleep for 1000 years.

Yveltal‘s signature move is called Oblivion Wing. It has the highest base HP stat of all Dark-type Pokémon and is actually also the only Dark-type Mascot Legendary Pokémon known yet. Its name possibly derives from the letter ‘Y‘, ‘yvel‘ (Middle English for ‘evil’) and ‘talon‘.

  9. Sp yeah I despise breeding in ORAS. The loop is too long so you have to keep going for quite a bit of you finish hatching your eggs halfway through, the sandpits make me want to drink lighter fuel and for what ever reason I just CANT FREAKING GET A 5IV RALTS

          • and? is still a useless ability even in the main game. atleast illuminate has an effect in-game, but receiver? is literally useless unless in doubles

          • Because they have given the metagame importance so they need to give it specific tools

          • make it useful in singles. Is ridiculous how did they avoid it. It like they made it on purpose to make it useless on singles

          • not really. WG would not work and that is the only broken ability. So saying that will be OP is not a good excuse cause it really doesnt have the stats to abuse abilities. It will make him more viable sure, but not op

          • it is really not. his move pool is more special and utily oriented. a good physical wall blocks him. speed boost? we have sharpedo who is a superior mon and i dont see anyone saying anything about it. Water Bubble? you just putting random abilities now because he does not learn any attacking water moves lol. And the biggest point here is simple: would you really let a sharpedo, azumarill, or a mega mawile, who do their jobs so much better than passimian, die just to pass an ability. Im sorry but there is literally no point on having passimian ability do not work on singles.

          • A shit movepool doesn’t matter when you have an amazing ability: see Araquanid.

            Also preventing burns and resisting Fire is amazing for a physical attacker, and how easy it is to manipulate it in singles is still a huge factor

            At least doubles you can get knocked out before your ally

          • Still wont make him OP at all. Toxapex would still wall the heck outta it. He also has terrible sp def. Scarf pokemon would kill him asap. The thing here is that doesnt matter what ability it has, there is something that can counter it. It is very situational to be OP. And the other thing is, most team would carry the counter, because most teams carry a fully investment defensive mon and special defensive mons, there usually a scarf user, and a priority user. So yeah OU or UU but definitely not broken or OP

  16. I have an idea for a post-game thing for the 100% for sure happening Gen 4 remakes (honestly the hints are super obvious and if it’s not happening, I’ll spank the heck out of a GF member with a Gen 4 game), which would be called the Finalizing Episode.

    What happens:
    – Theory of multi-dimensions are confirmed after we get an appearance of Looker with Zinnia.
    – Annabel has begun to restore her memory, and the secrets begin to unfold.
    – You have to get the power of Giratina to help save both worlds from collapsing due to dimensional pressure.
    – It appears that the thin line between Mega-Timeline Gen 4 and non-mega timeline Gen 4 has begun to evaporate and the worlds are being collided.
    – New UB; Ultra Beast Cynthia (It’s an UB that looks like Cynthia, similar to Nihilego looking like Lillie, Beauty looking like Lusamine, etc)
    – This episode is the one that ties and finishes the long events of the theory, with Looker getting all of his memories back (remembering not only what he was doing in ORAS, but from as old as X and Y too), Anabel retaining all her memories yet again and returning to the old world, the catching of UB-10 (C.Y.N.T.H.I.A), the discovery of a man resembling Professor Mohn (it is him) and the end of the threat.

      • No it would be an Ultra Beast, like Lusamine and Lillie, that looks EXACTLY like them. And no it wouldn’t be the end of all Pokemon, it’d be a satisfying conclusion to the theory. It may funk up the timeline, but oh well, sometimes breaking logic is the best way to get good conclusions.

          • They have acknowledged their periphery demographic before, throwing us a bone (story) isn’t too weird.

            Also, we’ve had pairs of games where slightly different things happen, and we’ve got time and space manipulation already. It’s just logical to follow up on it

          • I’m of the opinion that in previous games, the slight changes in each version don’t matter all that much because overall that was only one small change, introducing an entirely new universe and completely disregarding the old one except for a few references and such, just kinda irks me. It also totally fucks with the established game timeline

          • I mean it’s not exactly ‘slight’

            Team Aqua are heroes in one universe, and the villains in another. Vice versa with Magma.

            Unova is more modern in the Black Universe, and more rural in the White Universe. And unlike other games, they don’t have a third version to gloss it over and tie them together.

            Whole Pokémon populations are rarer in one universe than the other

            Also making a new timeline means they don’t have to do mental gymnastics to introduce a new feature or just leave the fans like ‘lol wut’

          • I can see your point, but Hoenn was tied together with emerald, the unova series your right about, it’s an entirely different universe depending on which version you have, on your last point, fans are always going to go LOL Wut??? whenever a new feature is introduced, it’s in our nature.

          • Did you notice the release pattern of remakes? Gen 1 had remakes 2 generations later as did Gen2, Gen 3 was 3 after, and I’m assuming that the same will follow this gen with Sinnoh. Or they could give us the middle finger and make us wait til gen 8

        • I know, I’m saying it wouldn’t happen because
          1. Cynthia has zero reason to look like a UB. It aligns better with team galactic anyways
          2. Not to all Pokémon, I mean Game Freak isn’t the type to end a plot like that so soon and on such a solid note. It would be waaaaaaaay more ambiguous

          • Fine, at least have a partial thing happen like have Anabel end up remembering and her able to connect to the other world, that’s all I want.

    • Multiple dimensions are already confirmed by Black and White (differing areas and the Charge sidequest) as well as SuMo (Ultra Space and the day/night dimensional shift)

        • Just like people blindly wanted Primarina to be Fairy?

          There is evidence for Stars, namely plot points that have went unused (even more than Kalos IMO) that can’t just be thrown into remakes and the fact a highly regarded person ‘leaked’ it. And it may not happen, but saying there’s no evidence is dumb.

          But you’re the guy who argued against leakers who blatantly got stuff right soooo

            There is very little evidence that Stars is going to be Gen 4, Sun and Moon is barely a year old

            And what unused plots are you even talking about, details and facts make a stronger speculation rather then wild assumption

            And I must’ve misread that, but Sinnoh is definitely not for a while and we should hope this so called Stars fixes everything they half-assed

          • I wouldn’t say they half-assed much tbh, Ultra Beasts and Tapu Cutscenes would be demanding and would take time and resources when it wasn’t at all crucial (if anything, that’d be a luxury so they didn’t half ass shit, they just didn’t go OTT), Hyper Training would be hard to balance between frustrating and making competitive a cakewalk (they need to lower the necessary level though), the story was amazing but you have to search some of it out.

            Lusamine and Lillie’s journey in Kanto-will she ever get better? Will we see Lillie progress as a trainer?

            Also, there’s plenty of hints for Sinnoh this Gen, but I’ll wait for your response to this one because the post is getting big

          • No, I mean I was waiting for you to argue back about the Stars plot points because we were talking about both Stars and remakes.

          • Well I mean

            -It’s logical, they’re the Gen after the last ones to be released (III Remakes)

            -Ultra Beasts tie in very well with Sinnoh (legendaries who were born outside of our universe and regularly traverse them-Creation Trio were like the OG Ultra Beasts)

            -Research on the construction of Type: Full (later contained as Type: Null and then when freed from the harness it was renamed Silvally) was performed at the Canalave Library.

            -That, along with its appearance (especially the helmet) and ability (RKS System) makes it clear its based off of Arceus, a Sinnohan Legend.

            -The games will be eleven years old next Gen.

            -D/P was the end of an era for Pokémon: the first four Gens felt similar, especially due to all being the based on Japan. SuMo (and Gen VII) is possibly the end of an era (Pokémon being an exclusively handheld game) if they Switch to the Switch.

            And that’s just a few. Others are smaller details, but details just the same.

  20. Weird question but I just got out of school

    If Pokémon were real, how would it effect schooling? Would your Pokémon have to do PE? Would there be mandatory or optional battling, care and history classes for Pokémon?

    • I dunno but this total D-Bag from school I had the displeasure of knowing I envisioned being a proficient user of both Dark and Grass types, with Serperior and Bisharp being his mains

            -Dogs
            -Cats
            -Common Birds
            -Regional ‘Rodents’
            -Small Mammals

            Although I’d imagine that some Pokémon would be common on one place and rare in another, like a good amount of African trainers having Zebstrika when other continents have Rapidash and Mudsdale

            Also I just realised that two of your favourite Pokémon would be African. Curious question, would you go to another continent just to catch them?

            But the story is I received my Rhyhorn from my Great Aunt as a gift, a newborn calf who soon to become the towering King of the Earth,

          • I’m naturally drawn to elegance and cuteness, so I understand how it feels to not be fully able to escape from preferences :p

            I mean it does make sense, it’s a fucking badass wyvern-ish (has multiple traits pteradons don’t have but who cares it just makes it cooler) pterodactyl that still has an earth-based type

  25. Another question! (Sorry if these are annoying anyone, I’m just excited homework had died down so I can be back faster and more frequently then I thought!)

    What Pokémon would live in your city? For interests of your own safety, I wouldn’t name your city directly if it isn’t a metropolis people aren’t likely to find you in (Paris, London, NYC, Singapore, etc?)

    Bonus points for people who name what would be in there specific sub area of their city (please don’t give the specific area though, even if you say the city)
