Greetings everyone, here is another Mascot Pokémon Showdown. The winner of last time is Zekrom with 35%!
Now it’s time for Kalos. Generation VI released in 2013 with a worldwide release for the first time. This generation contained just two main games, namely X and Y, and featured some great new stuff like the Fairy-typing, Mega Evolution and trainer customization.
Pokémon X Version
Pokémon X showcased Xerneas, the Life Pokémon. It’s the first Fairy-type Legendary and is a stag-like creature shaped like an X. The horns on its head contain the colors of the rainbow and can grant someone eternal life. When it’s at the end of its own life, it transforms into a tree and sleeps for 1000 years.
There is no other Pokémon known than Xerneas that can learn the move Geomancy, making it the only Legendary Mascot whose signature move is a status move. It has the same stat distribution as Yveltal, but has the highest base stat total and Attack stat of all non-Mega Evolved Fairy-type Pokémon. Its name may come from the letter ‘X‘ and ‘cervus‘ (Latin for ‘deer’).
Pokémon Y Version
Pokémon Y featured Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon. It is an 
avian Pokémon with the Dark/Flying type combo. Its wings and tail make the letter Y when fully extended. It has the power to absorb life energy. In contrast to Xerneas, Yveltal sucks all the life energy of every living thing around it when it is at the end of its life, creating a cocoon of itself so it can sleep for 1000 years.
Yveltal‘s signature move is called Oblivion Wing. It has the highest base HP stat of all Dark-type Pokémon and is actually also the only Dark-type Mascot Legendary Pokémon known yet. Its name possibly derives from the letter ‘Y‘, ‘yvel‘ (Middle English for ‘evil’) and ‘talon‘.

According to this guy on Reddit he has the deets on SOS chaining, and aDrive on youtube is backing it and he’s pretty reliable so I guess shiny charm does effect the SOS method

No, I started in ORAS (or maybe XY? Can’t remember), partly as a challenge, partly because I was sick of having mismatched balls at PkmnCentres, and partly because they almost always have a set of regular Pokeballs in the anime too.

Yeah. Amnesia is classed as an ‘other’ move, like Thunder Wave, Worry Seed etc.

Basically I have a theory that trading Cosmog to the other version and levelling it up in the other version would make it evolve into the mascot for the other version instead of the version it originated in.
But so far we’ve had nobody able to test or confirm the theory.

Well, I’ll just GTS trade the resulting Lunala/Solgaleo for Cosmog… after all, if it’s for dex, it doesn’t have to sport good natures.

Why are people obsessed with level 91-100 Pokemon on the GTS? It’s one thing to want rare Pokemon like Legendaries, but it’s another to ask for a common Pokemon with a high level. Seriously, what’s the point?
A) Just to show off.
B) To be arse hats.
C) They think if they wait long enough they’ll get one.
They think they will be competitive, or are for hacked giveaways usually.
If they want IVs, they need to go for levels 1-10.

Well, you get BP from the Battle Trea. I wish there was a better thing like the Battle Chateau so each person you battle you get 2BP, plus they give money and you have no limit like the Chateau.
Ummmmm, once you get to higher levels in the tree you can get up to 6BP per fight
But….you can only use….3…..they…..become 50…..no legendaries…..but….opponent can use it……ugh!

A bit meh, but you could mostly just slowly farm BP without thinking. Stick a film on, press the odd button every 5 seconds, have enough for an item by the end.

However, I have a theory it might evolve into the other legendary when levelled up in the other game, so I want to find someone with a Cosmog and two copies of the game to test this theory.
If it’s true, you can just trade with someone, let them evolve it, and trade back. Just like Rockruff.

Oh wow….I just realized, because the Gen 4 main legendaries were available in ORAS, you can Pokemon like Giratina easily by getting the version OPPOSITE of which version you got that Legendary…..I can get Palkia first thing in the game!
And if it is like Platinum, you will be able to get the opposite in the same game. Honestly one of the best parts of HGSS
I hope they at least slightly rise the catch rates as Generation 4 had a LOT of legendaries released. Either low amount with low catch rates or high amount and slightly higher than before catch rates.

Imagine a little episode where you can play as Lillie for a bit and playthrough a small side story with a custom team. Or Hau training with Hala…. or Guzma doing something cool.

They did something like this in Breath of Fire IV where you could sometimes play as the anti-protagonist type character. It was great in that it let you do different things, see other areas/ sides of the story and a very different character type.
