      • Unpopular opinion: Overwatch is an extremely boring game. But maybe that’s just because I’m not a fan of the genre, the gameplay seems too repetitive.

          • Yeah, I also thought TF2 was boring, so you’ll probably like Overwatch. It definitely wasn’t the worst game, it kept my interest for around a week or so. I feel like one of the reasons I wasn’t a fan though, is because my skill level at shooters is extremely low, and everyone else seems so good at the game.

          • Yeah that can be pretty frustrating. Like I love Smash Bros but I can never play online because I always get destroyed. Like I think I have won maybe 4 games compared to 200 something matched. I suck 😛

          • Backwards for me. I suck at shooters, but am amazing at smash. Anyway, that’s a good analogy. I wish Overwatch had a tiering system though, that’d make the game much better.

          • You play Smash too? I’m adding you to the list that includes SomeGuy right now as people I need to play against.

          • Here’s what bothers me
Battleborn is a REALLY fun game! And it’s a lot different than what people claimed it to be! And Overwatch kinda mauled it.
Worst of all? Battleborn clearly had a lot of thought put into it. The lore and backstory of certain characters in incredible, the most I’ve seen in a very long time. It’s just so sad that it got slaughtered

          • Jim Sterling’s video on it made be feel really bad for it. they should’ve delayed it a couple months just so they could release it at a time they wouldn’t be overshadowed by OW

          • Yeah… It should have
Lemme just tell you this, this is the level of thinking that was put in the game

A single rather humorous line said by a certain character sometimes at the start of a match with no actual real relevance actually brought up again by another character in a lore journal. The creators actually remembered this.

I have had characters I have played for hundreds of games and I’m still hearing new lines.

Honestly? Every character in the cast has a certain charm to them in my opinion, and it’s rare I feel like a game does that

  1. Alright so now that Gen 7 is here, what are your favorite Pokemon introduced in this Generation? Can be Legendary, Guardian Diety, and Ultra Beast too.

  2. I miss the reset bag. I NEED THE RESET BAG.
Instead of hitting a bag for 10 minutes, I have to wait for up to multiple days just to get the berries/festival shop I need. This is infuriating. Oh my god.

        • Ehh, story’s not something I really count since its mostly as good or bad as they invest time into it. Given they had a lot more time to invest into this story then X&Y, its not really that surprising that it turned out better. Its kind of the same case with Gen 4 and Gen 5.

          • Oh don’t get me wrong. I remember a lot about pokemon’s story and love them. Its just something I don’t really hold them to be good or not given Story is one of the last things done when developing a game, giving it the least time in development. So if its bad, its more so because they didn’t spend/have a lot of time to work on it.

          • That more depends on the game though really. For most of gaming a story was little more then something to keep you going from point a to point b. Now games are a bit better handled with more of a focus on story. Heck as I’ve been saying I’ve been playing through FF15 and I’m kind of amazed by how much detail is in the game with it comes to its story and lore. From explaining how an entire town came to be fully run by women(who also pretty much supply power to an entire nation, to a random journalist who sends you out to take pictures for his propaganda magazine, to actually making me feel bad that a generic NPC was shot and killed because he wouldn’t rat out the main character in front of his own grandson, and then giving me a sidequest to basically go around the world to give him some Amiibo to feel better as he crashes with one of the many Waifu’s of the game.

Story does seem like its becoming more and more important in gaming, but we’re still a long way off from it becoming the first priority. Heck I’m still waiting to see what will happen in the Aftermath of the Switch and see if the concept of a half gen console will actually succeed or fail like it sort of did for the new 3DS.

      • I honestly thought they would keep Super Training since they’re all for the idea of making competitive battling an easy thing to get into but nope

        • Yeah. Chalk it up the the controversial design philosophy they have of taking out certain features to make the game/generation more memorable. Sometimes it’s fine like Kurt’s balls or the dream world, but this is a pretty big mistep on their part and really the only bad thing I can say about the game.

          • True. It’s really the only complain I have about the entire game. However, it’s a horrible aspect to not excel at since competitive battling is all a Pokemon game has after everything’s been done. Sun and Moon was an amazing game but this just leaves a really bad after taste. Damn.

  3. Another question: What’s the longest you’ve ever chained before either finding a shiny or breaking the chain somehow?
I’m at 190 right now and getting pretty discouraged. TBH I thought it would take 40 max.

  4. am I doing this SOS chaining for shinies wrong or something? ive been in this same battle for hours, my decidueye has grown 15 levels, and I have eaten through about 150+ leppa berries. no shiny beldum yet, I’m starting to think ive been doing it wrong. ive had to have chained nearly 400-500 of the things already….

    • Sounds like your doing everything right,I’ve been in a SOS chain with sandygast going on day two and still nothing and only 105 Leppa berries left. But I wish you the best of luck!

  7. For the catching challenge, if we release ePokemon, will the caught Pokemon number fall or after we catch it does it count it and nothing happens if you release it?

  8. ok, no. I’m done. ive taken out nearly 2000 beldum. used up about 400 leppa berries. I’m done. this is absurd. soooo much time wasted. I will never attempt this again until I have the shiny charm. now I can finally get back to ffxv…. ugh.

    • Ouch. Damn that sucks. If anything takes near 100 for me I just run away. I wish thee better luck next time around. RNG is a cruel mistress.

      • its pretty neat. I’m going to reserve judgement until later, but I really like the interactions between the characters and so far combat is a blast. its also very very strange (in an interesting way) seeing a modern day final fantasy, they even use Coleman brand camp gear (tents, thermace, lawn chairs, etc. its just product placement). so far so good, ive been playing for about 2 hours in it, and I just got past the opening area, there’s lots to do.
