As promised the official US site has released the QR code that lets you receive Magearna in Pokémon Sun & Moon!
To receive your Magearna, first scan the below QR code using the QR Scanner located in the menu. Then head to the Antiquities of the Ages shop located at the top right of the second floor within Hau’oli City’s Shopping Mall and talk to the delivery man. Note that you won’t be given the Mythical Pokémon unless you have completed the main storyline and become the Champion of the Alola Region.
This Magearna is level 50, comes with a Bottle Cap, and knows the moves Fleur Cannon, Flash Cannon, Lucky Chant and Helping Hand. This QR code can only be scanned once per game and does not expire.

I really wish they’d stop just handing out event Pokemon. have the code activate an event where I can battle and catch the thing, I don’t want it just served on a silver platter.
These games are about catching Pokemon, not about being gifted Pokemon.
Well if you don’t want it, then don’t get it. Majority of Pokepeople don’t mind it and TBH it would be a TERRIBLE thing to force people to battle them, at least have the Delivery Lady give us a master ball for each.
I think it’s more a complaint that the mythicals don’t feel special because they don’t have in game events surrounding them. Like I miss the days of the Faraway island, full moon island, flower paradise events, etc. because it was really cool that the events actually activated something in game. If it’s an Alola pokemon, why am I being given it? Why can’t I go and find it in Alola instead through the event?

I do play and all I just did was use Tapu Koko with its False Swipe and Thunder Wave. I also wasted my Master Ball on it but it was a worthy sacrifice, he helped me catch basically all the proceeding legends/UBs.

Oh, I deleted Nature’s Madness, I didn’t think it was a useful move. Plus I only had Discharge and if I wanted to easily take down a single Pokemon I needed a single-Electric move. Not like Nature’s Madness really helped me anyways.
Nature’s madness, false swipe, thunderwave, and thunderbolt is my moveset for catching wild pokemon with tapu koko. Someone else had a good one for it too, can’t remember who.

I don’t think the mega legendary should be event, it should be what happens when you get all 4 Tapus plus Necrozma and Lunala/Solgaleo. You have the Tapus form their Guardian form, Lunala is on top and Necrozma activates its magic, emitting a faint glow that attracts the Ultimate Tapu.

Contests was a thing to do on the side. The absence of previous pokemon isn’t that big of a deal honestly especially since they came back in post game and B2W2. As for the anime people should hold that to a different regard than the games. DP had just as many legendaries. The absence of Gray is not that big a deal since we got B2W2

“Diverse” – Ultron, Alola is basically the Canada of Pokemon, it has actual people FROM other regions mentioned and the Pokemon are noticeable, like Alolan Forms, so Unova is the 2nd at best.

I started playing around Gen 5, and I feel that the story (especially Black 2 and White 2) was exceptional, plus I liked how Game freak tried to do some experimenting.

Koko and Bulu learn a grand total of 2 Fairy Moves, one of which is Natures Madness. Urgh
I don’t care about the other two, they’re good, and but they didn’t all need to share a type. Or at the very least give them some Fairy moves they can work with.
And don’t give me any of that Guardian BS (I know it’s coming :p). It seems the Fairy Type was incredibly misplaced on these guys.

I kind of appreciate Bulu and Koko’s fairy typing cause they are non-girly looking fairy types. The only non-feminine Fairy that comes to mind is Granbull which oddly enough has a higher chance of being female

Mawile looks like a monster…… And is in battle. It can look sort of girly if you really try to look at it like that I guess. But really it looks like something from another planet.
Its based on a japanese legend of similar design, a woman (stressing the woman part) with a jaw on the back of her head. It may not be super girly looking but the face of Mawile does look more on the feminine side hence why i consider it feminine looking pokemon
Still looks like something out of a Monster movie to me. Though its got the ‘cute’ enough look to make it seem like its not super dangerous before it attacks. Like Ridley In Metroid other M, he went from cute fuzz ball to monster pretty easily.

This I can actually get behind. The only reason the Fairy thing works is because they are supposed to be Guardians. But type variations would made a lot more sense.
Lele could have been Psychic/Fire. And I guess Fini could have stayed Water/Fairy.
They could have done much more creative stuff with the Tapus but they went the generic route and it annoys me. Especially cos they didn’t even execute it properly.
Tapu Lele could be Grass/Fire cause it has the Volcano and Lush Jungle. The Tapu Fini could be Water/Ghost or Fairy/Water like it is.
Really nothing to change about the Tapus, if they all had separate typings and didn’t share one, they wouldn’t be “guardians”. They were meant to share a similar typing with 1 unique, so having them have different typings (both types) would be an idiotic and clearly stupid idea.

Lunala is alright, but I want something that looks like a ghost, not a bat. Maybe something that kind of looks like Darkrai only more monstrous?

Not sure if it’s been stated here yet, probably has. But anyway, apparently every single Pokemon has a walking and running animation in the coding of Sun and Moon. There was a lot of work put into these obviously, over 800 Pokemon to do that for. But it was scrapped, maybe due to original 3DS lag? Or maybe saving it for Stars? Or maybe both reasons? Not to get anyone’s hopes up, but it’s very interesting to say the least.

Assuming the Switch is a big success like I think it should be, I’d love to find out how many of the decisions that lead to the final product were due to Iwata or Kimishima. Kimishima seems to be a little too humble so I feel like any questions asked about it directly towards him will be deflected and he’ll prop up Iwata. But he seems incredibly, incredibly intelligent and strategic in his thinking. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out one day that he came in and pulled a Miyamoto and flipped the tea table.

Yeah, and if you’re trying to get a weather SOS mon with its hidden ability its awful, so it best to find those in a past game and to just transfer them over and then breed them once pokebank is out of course

It’s WPA2, so it’s just SSID/connection ID and password.

It’s an interesting thought. The initial reports about Pokemon Stars stated that the Pikipek model in the February reveal trailer was actually an HD model for Stars. It’s not out of the question to think that some of the things the Chinese leaker said are from the premium version of the game if they were developed at the same time.

I want to take a minute to ACTUALLY say my thoughts on the walking/running animations. First off, I don’t think it’ll happen. I’d love it, it’s always a welcome feature, but the exact same thing happened in BW2, and we all know that those games didn’t have such a feature. That being said, those were sprites. These are full 3D models with working animations, which takes MUCH more effort than a few sprite screens. It’d feel like such a waste to fully animate the thousand or so models and never use 90% of them.

Well it’ face looks like scorpion and these giant claws with thin arm looks like scorpion pincers and maybe the legs looks like scorpion tail …..scorpion is very armored creature though.
so for me Necrozma like a de-construction scorpion …..I don’t mind the dragon though I love dragon as well ….but scorpion fit better in mythology part.
Kinda hoping for something unique for its own form. Not that I’m against Dragon form for it. But maybe some sort of odd Golem with more of a build for speed unlike the Regis.
I’m hoping for more Ultra Beast, especially if teh Ultra Beasts are common Pokemon for their world. The Uncommon, Psuedo Legendaries and Legendary Pokemon would be totally amazing! Though they would be banned from Tournaments pretty quickly.

I desperately want a summer release for a pokemon game (even though by a financial standpoint, it’s not a good idea), because that’s when I have most time to fully enjoy the game.
Right. I’m lucky I got an entire week off after SM (Thanksgiving Break, which has never been a week where I live), so I was able to finish it in 48 cumulative hours between the Friday it came out and the Sunday before school. Still not completely done, though!

Still a rumor, but it has some credibility behind it.
Not many. Similarly to what Prince Fae said, we may see a few Trial Captains departure, particularly Ilima and Kiawe, who I believe to be nearing 20. Who replaces them, I can’t be sure, though depending on the timeframe in which it takes place, Hau could be a Trial Captain (not a Kahuna, considering he’d need to be over 20 at the minimum).
I’d expect all the Kahunas to remain the same, unless one dies or moves (the latter fitting Nanu’s personality, for example), and we may get a glimpse of Hau’s father who “didn’t want to be known as a Kahuna’s son,” especially if Hala “retires.”
The only thing I’d be questioning is continuity. Will the NPCs remember us for what we did in S/M, and treat us with that same level of compassion, or will we be traversing the new region in the eyes of a new trainer. Regardless, I feel like there will be some tie-in to Kanto and the return of a certain someone! Team Skull will have disbanded for sure, maybe turning into a helper group, and the Aether Foundation could really go either way. Perhaps we could see a Team Eclipse that tries to open another Ultra Wormhole or even genetically engineer their own beasts from Ultra Space, who knows.
I think you’re forgetting that it’s supposed to be a third version, akin to platinum and emerald over BW2.
However, these are interesting to think about. If it turns out being a sequel after SM, I’m fairly sure there will be a different protagonist (to keep continuity simple).
Yeah, though GF hasn’t tackled a third version in a while. I feel like a third version would leave me disappointed in having to wait another year (considering there may not be any drastic changes), while I’d even wait two years for a sequel akin to BW2, where there are more substantial changes.
I think either one is well-deserved.

2nd favorite game so far. It was AMAZING, it just didn’t beat out how content-filled HGSS was. But this is why I want a third game (somewhat over a sequel), because instead of trying to come up with a new story and everything, they could just fix and build onto this beautiful game they already have. If they did a good job, it’d no doubt be my favorite games in the series.
A Battle Frontier would likely seal the deal for both of us, among other veteran players.
Oh absolutely. However, I feel that’d be more likely to be in sequels because of one reason. Anabel. After completing the UB hunt, maybe she went off and founded a battle frontier.

As some of you guys might have seen, there is a ton of leftover animations of running with Pokemon. I’m assuming that GameFreak wanted to add this feature in S/M, but either ran out of time or the 3DS could not handle the copious amount of models. Yet, this feature might return in Pokemon Stars. Honestly, if it does come back, I seriously hope there is a toggle for it. To be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of walking with Pokemon, while some people are. To appeal to both crowds, a simple toggle would do a lot. Just got my Magearna, it’s got a Sassy nature (which is fine, it’ll help with the Sp Def bulk). I’m leaving it like that because I don’t really pick a specific nature for a legendary to do competitive battling anymore. I go with mons that are non-legendary for competitive battling, which seems fair in my opinion.
The fact that the Trial Challenge replaced Gyms in Alola does not completely rule out Gyms in the future, however, it does open up the possibility for more culture-based progression systems. What other countries do you think could be based on a future region and have some more culturally-inclined Gym system?
I am totally up for that, it would totally inject more life and uniqueness to Pokemon

I wouldn’t mind some kind of hybrid of the two. The gyms are fine, but they get so boring when basically every gym is exactly the same.With the amazing story that SuMo had I hope they integrate the gyms into the story more like they did with the Trials. Also I prefer the world to have interruptions during the gyms like the trials had. Everything completely stopping in the outside world (for real or not) during the gyms made it feel like you weren’t actually in a real place. It felt too much like an amusement park. I’d like the gyms to be more robust where maybe the bad guys interrupt your challenge of the gym. Maybe even pull you away from the gym for short while before you can battle the leader. Either way the gyms need to be more than just pit stops for you to get a pass go to the next town.

All this talk about future regions remind me of a project we tried to devote to a few years back: a fangame called Pokemon Jade Jungle! Shout out to you if you were there during that time.
Personally, I’d love to kickstart an endeavor of that size once again, but I don’t know who’d be up for it and like Pokemon Uranium, if it got big enough, we would be forbidden from distributing it.

So I just beat Kiawe (this is my second playthrough), and figured I’d take a break and chain for a Shelgon for my dex. Nek minnit: SHINY BAGON! 😀 (wasn’t using Synchroniser, and got a Modest nature, which is still workable).

finally,FINALLY completed the pokedex and got my shiny charm… I did it, this is the first time ive ever completed the regional dex in a pokemon game! the reward really drove me, now to breed for a shiny! speaking of shiny charm, it says “increases chances of finding a shiny pokemon in the wild” does that mean it doesn’t work on breeding anymore?
Congrats! First regional dex I completed was B2W2. Not sure about your question though. Though some people claimed it never helped with breeding in the first place.
Just know that shiny charm is unuseful for Sos battle. The day I got it I spent 5 hours chaining eevee but I gave up after 500 cause I was exhausted. I got a shiny dewpider before the shiny charm with a chain of 148.
You could have just had bad luck. That’s too anecdotal to make it a fact. Other people on here have had opposite experiences
Just know that finding a shiny is dependent on a probability, and you are not guaranteed to find one in that probability. (i.e., if the chance is 1/4096, there’s a chance that by your 4096th encounter, you’ll not have found a shiny)
Just know that when I hunted for Fennekin in X/Y I went over odds
Shiny Charm works with breeding as well.

I have just thought up a strategy that may have been thought up already and I’m stupid, but whatever. For the Land Spirit Pokemon, with their low catch rate, get them down to 1, wait for their ability to go off, and throw as many ultra balls as you can, than, after a while, go for it with a timer ball. Thats how I caught all 3 of my Tapus (going for Fini today.)

In the beginning pf the game, I used the Mystery Gift Munchlax/Snorlax and had it use its event-exclusive move Happy Hour, which doubles prize money earned at the end of a battle, and made it hold an Amulet Coin as soon as I got one, making that doubled prize money become quadrupled the usual amount. Gentlemen and Madame trainers are rich so I made sure to always send out Munchlax/Snorlax into any battle I had with them.

The Amulet coin is located at Paniola Ranch, right behind Paniola Town, on Akala Island. Go to the Nursery building and walk to your right. When you see a red truck, go to its rear and pick up the Amulet Coin.

Ways to make money, dunno which is faster. Probably the buffet (once a day), then the E4 rematch.
1. Always do the daily Pyukumuku chucking.
2. Rare Treasure Finding in Isle Aphun gets a lot of money items
3. Do the buffet in the Hau’oli mall, keep fighting the tourists, gentlemen and madams (if available, also once a day)
4. Rematch the elite 4. (with amulet coin: 22k per E4 fight, forgot how much the champion rematch gives)
5. Keep fishing bubbling spots for goodies, or keep fighting the sand holes in the hotel’s beach for star pieces.
by far the fastest method:
Step 1: Head to Poni Coast (east side of poni Island, in between Poni Plains and Poni Gauntlet, its a rocky coastal area.)
Step 2: Pass by this area on tauros, breaking every boulder you see (there’s 4, it should only take about 10 seconds to pass through, if you dodge the wild pokemon on the overworld)
Step 3: Make sure you collect the items that drop from the Boulders. I have done this and have gotten at least a stardust with every pass (again, only takes about 10 seconds to pass through this area.)
Step 4: Sell the items you found for a profit.
Don’t forget to add lotteries/gold rushes and such to your festival plaza. I’ve gotten a few big nuggets from those

hit up KyogreCascade on gamefaqs. they gave me one for free, all I had to do was fill out a form that told them the details of a mudbray I put on the gts so they could find me. it even comes with destiny knot. really generous people who work day in and out to provide people with 6iv dittos. already have 3: 6IV adamant Beldum, and 16: 5 IV adamant Beldum thanks to their generosity.

Yeah! How it works is that through Pokemon Link you receive Battle points. Those points vary depending on how much Pokemon you keep in Pokemon Bank for an extended amount of time. You can easily get some BP from one full box alone on Pokemon bank. It’s pretty convenient

I love how they went deep with his character. He is the way he is possibly because of his time with the International Police. He has seen things, maybe that’s why nothing surprises him any more. I left a Mudbray….is it a Jack or a Foal…. Donkey into Horse…. Whatever I left a level 1 Mudbray in the level up regime for the maximum 49:30 hours and it appears to learn moves as they level up and it gained a total of 29 levels

Yeah, I discovered pretty quickly how ineffective Isle Evelup is for Exp. Points. I do like using it for EV Training when I’m away from my 3DS for a full day.
It could be useful. Put ’em in overnight or while you’re at school/work, and the levels will add up. It’s admittedly not much, but without many good levelling methods, we should take whatever we get.

Yes. Rain dance will do it, but make sure you have someone with a wet stone(?) or whatever it’s called. Plus bring something to keep your PP up as you’ll be looking for a while.

Sounds really good! Mine’s Adamant, EVs in Attack and otherwise evenly distributed. Splash (Z-powered), Light Screen, Substitute, Play Rough.
Oh wow, that’s a utility Mimikyu! Mine is holding a Sitruis Berry, but I’m also thinking of trying out a Kee Berry, which raises your Defense if you’re hit by a Physical move. And yes, it works even if the physical move is breaking your disguise 🙂
I never got into battling before the PJ League, so I’m glad I stumbled on something that works. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the best battler, but I think I can at least hold my ground this time around! 🙂

Honestly i blame myself for this fiasco. I literally started off with two regular same-region Mareanie, which really was a stupid idea. I wasted a lot of boxes on those. Luckily I max-upgraded the PC, so I have still enough room. More than enough room, 98% sure. If not, I’ll just delete all the stupid Mareanie!
Must have patience! It took me 4 weeks to find shiny cresselia and I’ve only ever bred one shiny pokemon, a gible, on accident.

Some ideas for a UB counter I found is an Assualt Vest Kommo-O or a Slush Rush Sandslash. They work pretty well against the UBs I have been fighting.
