Mascot Pokémon Showdown: Generation V

Hello everybody, we’re bringing you another Mascot Pokémon Showdown. The winner of last time is Giratina with 56%!
Now it’s time for Unova. Generation V released in 2010 in Japan and in 2011 in the rest of the world. This time, the generation consisted of four games: Black, White, Black 2 and White 2, and introduced amazing features, such as seasons, triple and rotation battles and the Pokémon World Tournament

Pokémon Black Version

black_en_boxartPokémon Black featured Reshiram, the Vast White Pokémon. It is a Dragon/Fire Pokémon that contains almost entirely out of fluff. By flaring the enormous engine-like tail, it can move the atmosphere of the world, which changes the weather.

Reshiram is the only Pokëmon known to be able to learn Fusion Flare and Blue Flare. Together with Zekrom, they were first shown on the Japanese and English website on the same date, which makes them the first two to be revealed worldwide simultaneously. Its name comes from ‘shiro‘ (白, ‘white’) and ‘re‘, which is just a softer sound than ‘ze‘.

Pokémon White Version

Pokémon White showcased Zekrom, the Deep Black Pokémon, white_en_boxarton its cover. He has a Dragon/Electric-typing with small black wings coming from its shoulders. Like Reshiram, Zekrom has an engine-like tail, but this one produces lightning bolts.

Zekrom has the highest Attack, Defense, and base stat total of all Electric Pokémon. It’s Ken Sugimori’s favorite Pokémon of Generation V. Its name is a combination of ‘kuro‘ (黒, ‘black’) and ‘ze‘, which is just a harder sound than ‘re‘.

Pokémon Black 2 Version

black_2_en_boxartOn the case of Pokémon Black 2 is Black Kyurem, a combination of Kyurem and Zekrom. It keeps Zekrom‘s arms, but is much more muscular than it. Its left arm, wing and lower jaw are completely covered in ice.

Black Kyurem has the highest Attack stat of all Ice Pokémon, and together with White Kyurem, it has the highest base stat total of all Ice-type Pokémon. Despite being larger than before it fused, it’s actually lighter than Kyurem. Its name comes from ‘rei‘ (冷, ‘cold’),  ‘kyuurei‘ (急冷, ‘rapid cooling’) and ‘rei‘ (零, ‘zero’).

Pokémon White 2 Version

Unlike all other generations, this generation had 2 upgraded white_2_en_boxartversions instead of one. On the second version, Pokémon White 2, you can see White Kyurem on the cover. This is a fusion of Kyurem and Reshiram. Its right wing, head plume and upper jaw are frozen.

White Kyurem has the highest Special attack stat of all Ice-type Pokémon, and, as mentioned before, the highest base stat total of all of them. It’s also the tallest Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

  1. aurora Veil + Fluffy + Assault Vest + Max HP EV = “Hey,do you like being immortal?” here’s hoping bewear gets drain punch from tutors next game!

          • I’m in the tree right now, so I’m not sure, but I did survive a arcanine burnout. but fluffy makes bewear neutral to physical fire moves, and with the veil up, who knows, maybe, but darmanitan is stupid powerful!

          • Oh yeah it is
I run him on my Fire Mono
So STAB Flare Blitz + Sheer Force + Adamant + SUNLIGHT with a Scarf giving him a mostly solid priority
anything that isn’t 100% Fireproof will die

      • but it lacks any sort of recovery. mine has a nice moveset, but i’d get rid of the stronger hammer arm for drain punch’s recovery any day.

  2. For people who’ve levelled up Isles Evelup and Avue: do they get any better or just bigger? Upgrading the Berry island also increases harvest

  3. I have been playing the game for 94 hours and 42 minutes. I am curious to know who played more than me. I can guess Dazzling and Earthen played more.

  4. After having an idea that maybe for some reason having repels on may be effecting it (Which it shouldn’t but you know I was trying everything), the last 2 cells appeared.
I dunno if it’s on purpose, but I guess they’re easier to find without repels?
    Anyway I have 100% now.
My next question is, how do we change Solgeleos and Lunalas form?

    • 1) Repel shouldn’t effect it at all, they’re always there regardless, only factor is day/night

      2) They’re not forms, it’s just an evolution line.

Cosmog > Level 43 > Cosmoem > Level 53 > Solgaleo (Sun) or Lunala (Moon)

      • 1) It shouldn’t, but with them on they didn’t appear, and with them off, they did. I’m saying it’s some kinda glitch, as I’d already checked there both day and night for both, several times, as I already stated.

        2) I know that, I’m not an idiot. I mean Radiant Sun Solgaleo and Full Moon Lunala. When I said forms I meant Forms.

    • Can’t say much about the Zygarde thing other than you have a lot of patience collecting them all. I know how completely broken Zyagrde Complete is from using it on Showdown.

Solgaleo and Lunala don’t really have formes that you can change.
The forms mentioned, Radiant Sun and Full Moon, are just aesthetic changes that occur when you use their signature moves.

    • “Depending on the level of the island, the Pokémon gets 1, 2 or 4 EVs respectively every play session, so at Level 3, 4 every 30 minutes meaning to get 252 you’d need to have 63 sessions lasting 31 and a half hours. Poké Beans will speed this up so that the play sessions only last 15 minutes per session.” Serebii

Level up the island to lvl 3 before trying to train you Pokemon. If you are at lvl 3 already you can put 3 groups of 6 Pokemons to train at the same time.
Put a Pokemon and select a drink for it, HP for example and keep it there for 63 sessions 63*4=252. After 31 hours or 15 using pokebeans, Pokemons will have 252 EV in the desired stat.
