As usual, Niantic has released some details on their next update for Pokémon GO!
This time around the latest update to their popular mobile game will make adjustments to the Combat Power of several Pokémon: increasing the CP of Pokémon such as Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar (mentioned specifically), and lowering the CP of other, unspecified Pokémon.
In the words of Niantic, “These changes will allow a more balanced and competitive battling and training experience in Gyms. We will continue to adjust the CP going forward to improve the game balance when necessary.”
No word on an official list of all the effected Pokémon, however if you open up the app the changes to CP have already been implanted! Check out Niantic’s official blog for their full statement!
In addition to this, in celebration of Thanksgiving, starting November 22nd users will be able to enjoy a week of double XP and Stardust!

I don’t have that much tiiiime, I have stuff for uni but I also don’t want to rush through the game.
It’s nighttime now and idk if I should change the clock or not (not really a fan of playing at night) hmm..
Don’t change the 3DS clock unless it’s to 11:59pm, because you’ll be locked out of timed events for 24 hours, and you should probably only sacrifice one day instead of (what seems like) two.
Besides finding Crabrawler is there anything worth not changing the clock for?

It took me 11 hours to beat the kahuna.
By the time I got to him I wanted to get it over with asap. I also wanted my Popplio to evolve after the battle, so it took me a few tries
Well I didn’t get much time to play Sun yesterday, but I now have 6 trials completed! I’d say my team is at a pretty good spot 🙂 Time to head to Ula’Ula Meadow. (RF)

No big holes in the setup, except for the bit of a Rock weakness in half the team, I guess.
Yeah, 4 of them are weak to Rock 😛 Thankfully, my Decidueye and Snorlax can take on Rock types with ease.

I’ve had Exp. Share on. The NPC Pokémon right now are on their early-mid 30s, so I’m not TOO overleveled. Except for maybe Decidueye.
I had EXP share on the whole game and at points I was underleveled O_o
I guess I spent a bit too much time grinding xD

Get them wild encounters low, and wait for allies to come. Adrenaline Orbs + low life increases the chance they will call for an ally.
So it can happen at any time in the game?
Yep, any wild encounter can become an SOS battle.
Also, totems always try to get allies.
i think you need to complete the first totem encounter first for it to happen.
And it’s the only way to get Mareanie?
its how had to find it, fish up a corsola, and force it to call for help. corsola can be fished up 5% of the time in its available locations
Cool, I’m probably nowhere near where they are, I’m only on Route 2 for both versions. I’m trying to up my levels cause it sounds like the game is pretty difficult. And I don’t want one version to be too far ahead of the other one. Mareanie is on my team, and I still haven’t done the first trial so.
Late game spoiler but god damn A certain black jellyfish of death just totally destroyed me with its pink wall of doom, why does that thing have magic guard!!!

if you notice, all of that trainers pokemon (bar bewear because he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body) have sinister expressions on their faces. nice touch. also, hardest battle? did you do the battle frontier in emerald/platinum/HGSS?
yes I did and I stand by what I said, really though it was just that first pokemon that like murdered my fairies all the others were fine
alright. I always thought factory head Nolan/thorton were the hardest, because I don’t get to choose my team. torton in particular took me many tries to defeat.
I barely had any trouble when I fought said opponent
-_- k. I guess its all in the teams you choose then, I mean the final totem pokemon in the game I killed in one hit while I’m sure others had trouble with it
I had little trouble because I timed my Z move and switch ins perfectly. That and my team was pretty bulky and hard hitting.
I’ve only had to use a Z move like once in the game, I keep forgetting it exists
Tbh, for me, I’m fairly sure I killed her pink wall of death in 2 hits
I used poison on it and everything and it still took out 5 of my fairies
I think I only lost one mon

something interesting about the post game plot: Annabel is said to have gone through the ultra wormhole, they refer to her as a “faller”, a human who has done so, and has no recollection of themselves as a result. they only remember minor details of what they were on the other side. “she was the guardian of some tower, a battle brain”. We know, by reading the files at aether, that professor Mohn discovered the ultra wormholes and the existence of the ultra beasts. we also know, by reading lilies diary at kukui’s loft, that her father disappeared, causing lusamine to go crazy trying to reconnect with him. Mohn also happens to be the name of the Poke Pelago guy, a blonde gentleman with Bright green eyes who works with pokemon in the storage system. a callback to his previous career that he cant remember? One more thing: When wefound looker at the end of ORAS, what condition was he in? He was found washed up; near where the BATTLE TOWER would be in another universe, unable to remember how he got there, or what he was doing there, only his code name: Looker. mind blown. what are you up to, Gamefreak? what happened to the other universe? did the Ultra Beasts destroy it?
The plot thickens.

lol this is nothing, in X, I didn’t find anything I wanted until pretty late, so I had a Lv 40 Chesnaught and a lv 40 Vivillon at the 2nd gym. even worse, my friend played pokemon platinum, and had his Empoleon lv 50 in Eterna forest by grinding double battles with Cheryl.

It’s Lumiose City all over again, only this time with Pokemon Centers. Apparently it’s a rare glitch that occurs, but if you save inside a Pokemon Center, it’s possible the game will not be able to load your character and will render your save useless as there’s no way to recover your character without modding the game. Try to refrain from saving in Pokemon Centers until a patch is released.

That’s odd, I never encountered this issue in Sun.
Apparently it’s rare that it occurs, but there have been multiple reports of this happening now.

Words can’t describe how much I love Pokémon Sun and Moon. The different day and night themes, Trial Captains being battleable AND being seen outside of the trial, the variety in locations, all the extra things like Festival Plaza, not to mention an amazing plot…
I’d have to say these are my favorite games to date! I’m only about halfway through, but the whole UB/Aether Foundation plot line is very intriguing.
They’re my favorite Pokémon games since HG/SS.
The challenge of these games is very reminiscent of HGSS, even with the EXP Share.
same, these games are something else, definitely my favorite since ORAS.

well, yeah. I loved Ruby/sapphire/emerald. sure, I miss the battle frontier, but characters I thought were very unique and colorful in the originals looked like blank canvas’s compared to the characters they gave us in ORAS. also, it gave me some of my favorite pokemon, like M-Altaria, my favorite mega evolution.
BE PREPARED TO HAVE FEELS LIKE NEVER BEFORE. The story of Sun and Moon are INCREDIBLE. These games surpass even the best Mystery Dungeon story lines imo. ❤️❤️❤️

Earlier in my playthrough, when I was grinding my Salandit in the jungle to catch it up with the rest of my team, I was in the jungle so long that it started raining. The next Pokémon I encountered triggered an SOS battle and Goomy came to its side. I love Goomy so I decided to capture it, and I’m so glad that I did! Looking at Serebii now, I guess SOS battles in the rain are the only way to find them! 😮

Sadly though this week I have a supposed month’s worth of research project work to complete, two coursework titles to come up with, and 2 essays to write, so these are going to stay snug, warm and unopened until next wednesday…
No need to feel sorry for me, I completely dug my own grave here haha. Plus I willingly spoilt myself all but some specific plot points from the main plot, so it’s not like the wait is that bad (I’d probably would have done my work by now had that not been the case haha).

It was a postcard-sized poster ( or maybe just a little larger) from the early “People and pokémon of Alola” artwork, that you could literally print on your computer for free, so pretty crap in comparison to figures :p

Contrary to what I’ve been hearing, Lana’s trial was pretty easy (Dartrix/Charjabug sweep) but I lost to Kiawe twice. I had to improvise by giving Crabrawler the Water Z-Stone and teaching it Scald. Eventually, it worked!

It was funny during Mallow’s trial because the SOS Castform used Sunny Day and made my Salandit’s attacks more powerful! LOL

that mimikyu was the hardest totem to me. I didn’t lose, but all of its stats boosting gave me some trouble.

yep. I had incredibly frail pokemon, lycanrock midday with a defense hindering nature didn’t like those playroughs at all. bewear ate them up though. Bewear’s ,massive HP + fluffy= real bulk
I can’t even get off a single move against it with 4/6 of my Pokemon. Ugh.
I haven’t lost a battle yet but I got very very close. Totem Mimikkyu, Totem Lurantis, and Hau all brought my Pokemon down to one. Also Kahuna Nanu….

It does have a censor, but the second word is not spelled correctly, you can’t expect the censor to get every possible misspelling.
I misspelled it here on disqus to avoid any possible ban (not even sure if that’s a thing) but his was spelled correctly.
IIRC they removed the censors on this one because the system was kinda shoddy and it was having ridiculous censoring effects on pokémon names, especially foreign transferred ones…

Wait does the glitch thing happen directly after/during the save or does it happen when you reload your file? I’m scared that this happened to me right now, I save in centers a lot.

I don’t know :/ I imagine you could play and check though because this glitch seems like it just freezes your game when you open your save file. So if when you open it it’s frozen, just turn it off and wait for a patch. If not, you’re all good and make sure to be careful where you save.
