Combat Power Nerfs & Buffs Coming to GO

As usual, Niantic has released some details on their next update for Pokémon GO!

This time around the latest update to their popular mobile game will make adjustments to the Combat Power of several Pokémon: increasing the CP of Pokémon such as Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar (mentioned specifically), and lowering the CP of other, unspecified Pokémon.

In the words of Niantic, “These changes will allow a more balanced and competitive battling and training experience in Gyms. We will continue to adjust the CP going forward to improve the game balance when necessary.”

No word on an official list of all the effected Pokémon, however if you open up the app the changes to CP have already been implanted! Check out Niantic’s official blog for their full statement!

In addition to this, in celebration of Thanksgiving, starting November 22nd users will be able to enjoy a week of double XP and Stardust!

  1. So, third day asking, but I really am interested! How is everyone doing solar? Any new Champs? Any kahuna killers? Trial trumpers? UB catchers? For me, I finally finished the long UB side quest, and caught the extremely difficult Necrozma.

  2. OK so I posted this earlier, not sure if anyone is able to do this now, but here we go:
Can someone who can breed in gen 7 test something for me? It could be quite interesting to some.
Could someone breed a starter with a male in their egg group caught in a different ball and see if it passes down at all. Also can someone try both a Male and Female in different Balls with a Ditto? I want to know how Pokéball inheritance works in gen 7 after some rumours I’ve read. If Males can pass them without Ditto we may be able to have things like Safari Ball Rowlet, Dream Ball Popplio or Sport Ball Litten etc.

    • I’ll probably have a breeding session later, I’ll tell you about the results. Male in weird balls + ditto or male in weird balls + female in pokeball can easily be arranged.

        • I posted my findings so far but here’s what I have:

Genderless in special ball + Ditto = Egg in special ball
Male in special ball + Ditto = Egg in special ball
Genderless in pokeball + Ditto in special ball = Egg in pokeball

So basically a lot of male-only Dream Ball pokemon can now be legit bred.

          • OK thanks, I had read somewhere that someone bred 2 Oranguru in different Balls together and they got offspring in both kinds. This means at least some new combinations are now possible. Looks like I need to obtain some more stuff to complete my Dream Ball collection. Thank you for testing this for me 😀

          • Ok I guess I need more testing with the 2 balls male and female later. I’ll try to have a bigger sample size for male+female when I do it again and it can confirm if it’s 100% female balls or 50% each. We’ll see… 🙂

  3. Totem Vikavolt was the easiest one yet by far. I swept it with my newly caught Minior. I feel like it should’ve been a few levels higher honestly.

  4. Anyone got a Dhelmise they don’t want? I’m counting the days for Pokebank to be active on sun/moon so my dear Jellicent can join my team.

  5. Oh by the way
    Listen up chumps
I highly recommend you start breeding and hatching ASAP, if you hatch over 20 Eggs the IV checker will enable you to check IVs from the PC
A must have for any serious competitor
