Combat Power Nerfs & Buffs Coming to GO

As usual, Niantic has released some details on their next update for Pokémon GO!

This time around the latest update to their popular mobile game will make adjustments to the Combat Power of several Pokémon: increasing the CP of Pokémon such as Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar (mentioned specifically), and lowering the CP of other, unspecified Pokémon.

In the words of Niantic, “These changes will allow a more balanced and competitive battling and training experience in Gyms. We will continue to adjust the CP going forward to improve the game balance when necessary.”

No word on an official list of all the effected Pokémon, however if you open up the app the changes to CP have already been implanted! Check out Niantic’s official blog for their full statement!

In addition to this, in celebration of Thanksgiving, starting November 22nd users will be able to enjoy a week of double XP and Stardust!

  1. Pokemon Sun and Moon are already the 7th best selling 3DS games. Expect them to be #1 by the end of 2017 and the only titles from the 3DS to pass the 20 million mark.

    20 Million Sellers/Shippers:
    – 3DS, 0 games
    – DS, 3 games
    – GBA, 0 games
    – GB and GB Color, 3 games

I’m honestly surprised at how successful the Wii was… 7 titles with over 20 million copies sold worldwide and one with over 80 million… 0_0

  2. Maybe this is common knowledge, but it wasn’t to me. You can jump ahead 12 hours to the dimension opposite of your game by taking Solgaleo/Lunala to the Altar of the Sunne/Moone. This is part of the Cosmog sidequest, but I didn’t realize that it could also be used to completely flip the time and get day/night exclusives!

    • I found a Corsola and it was a ♀, which I definitely wanted. My Arauquanid (which is slow) can Scald it down to red HP, but it kept using Recover. It called out for a Corsola ♂, which I got rid of, but than it summoned another one. Got rid of that one and then it summoned a Mareanie (which I definitely wanted). Have you read its Pokedex entry? It ATTACKED Corsola cause they are its dinner! …I helped and then I caught that little mean bitch.
      Named her Nyx. :3

  5. There has to be an easier way to get hidden ability pokemon than SOS battles. I have been looking for a Moody Snorunt and All the snorunt end up using struggle to kill themselves.
