  1. Ugh! The animation in the Sun/Moon anime looks so good! I’m so happy they got a new head of animation (which explains the difference in style) and hired new writers. 😀

The preview for Rowlet’s capture episode and the introduction of the Rotom dex has me hyped!

  2. I was so surprised when the Lurantis used that solar blade move (I don’t know the actual name) and then it revealed it had Power Herb… poor Primarina! </3

  3. So as I’m playing Pokemon Moon, and this NPC’s like, “Sudowoodo disguises itself as a tree, etc etc. Why doesn’t it disguise itself as a tree from Alola?”. And I’m reading this and for the first time since I’ve started playing this, I’m taken out of the game. Maybe it was a way to cover their bases, maybe it was supposed to be a throwaway joke, but no, bringing it up makes me wonder… WHY THE HELL DIDN’T YOU MAKE AN ALOLAN SUDOWOODO THEN!? xDDD

    Reply
      • Original origin aside, my whole thing is Sudowoodo is like the first pokemon who’s whole concept was that it adapted to the environment to survive. Then Alola comes along where old pokemon have adapted to survive to the Alolan environment. They just seem made for each other.

  4. Ok I think I’m using Tsareena… now the question is should I catch my own Bounsweet or keep using this one without my OT I got from an in game trade? I mean I gotta grind a bit anyways for Olivia so….

  5. These Poke’dex entries are… morbid to say the least. Eating each other, drowning little Pokemon, stomping things to death, going on a rampage and basically killing everyone, seducing HUMANS and killing them? WTF GAMEFREAK?! WHO WROTE THESE AND HOW DID THEY PASS THE RATED-E FOR EVERYONE CRITERIA?!

  6. Things I want in Gen 8:
TM01 to be a Punch again
QUASH TO STOP TAKING UP DRAIN PUNCH’S SLOT
Nasty Plot or Equivalent Sharply Raise Special Attack TM
MORE AND LARGER STAT BUFFS TO POKEMON THAT DESPERATELY NEED IT
    IV’s determining stats.
    MORE PUZZLES!
NO MORE BULL TM’S LIKE CONFIDE AND QUASH TAKING UP PERFECTLY GOOD TM SLOTS.
Maybe change some shiny colors to not be terrible and uninteresting.
More Regional Forms to offset the lack of new pokemon due to slowing down since there are OVER 800 OF THEM.
ADDING BACK SUPER TRAINING and KEEPING EVERYTHING FROM SUN AND MOON.

        • Considering it’s main use is on Prankster Pokémon I’d agree. Also what did you mean by “IV’s determining stats”?, don’t they already do that?

          Reply
          • meant to put not determining stats. I hate some pokemon being better than others due to a normally hidden value you have no control over, Hyper training is cool and all but the currency thing is stupid considering you already need to train it to 100 which is relatively difficult to do.

and I’m also angry at Struggle Bug Replacing Stealth Rock… although I can understand from a Balance Perspective.

          • Removing them could be done but it would greatly affect Trick Room ‘mon and how effective confusion and foul play damage are. Hidden Power could potentially be done by choice I guess, kind of defeats the purpose of it being Hidden though. I guess getting a random one and being able to change it could be OK.

          • Not Removing, just Basically making them a value for hidden power and not stats, so basically all stats are as if it has iv’s of 31… like hyper training’s thing but without the hassle of leveling to 100 or even just having hyper training but without the currency because getting a pokemon to 100 is pretty hard work.

          • The latter part would definitely be acceptable to me. Some Pokémon genuinely function best with 0 speed IV. Removing that could damage their usability and Trick Rooms use to an extent.

  7. Now we have Evolution Moves …..for example u don’t heart scale to learn Incineroar Darkest Lariat he can learn it when it evolve no matter wat its level.

  8. My gosh I had to play Moon three times since I can’t save and didn’t get the right outfit or look for my trainer and I did Popplio twice and then Rowlett I’m so angry >:(

      • Thats…. a bit unfair. DLC isn’t a bad thing. It allows developers to keep interest high in their game and allows them to add in new things. The problem comes in when the price doesn’t match the content. I think if ORAS sold the battle frontier as DLC for around… ehhh maybe 2-4$? people would buy it and it would make lots of money.

        Reply
        • Probably is a bit unfair, but I am firmly against any kind of paid DLC. Especially when most of the time it’s something they could have easily just put into the game in the first place, but didn’t, obviously to make an extra buck. Why would I pay £5 to play the Battle Frontier, when I had it free (as part of the game) all the way back in Emerald?

For the record I still play Emerald sometimes :p

          Reply
          • This isn’t the case though. Often times the things they add in have to be cut for this or that reason. DLC while sometimes used to cheat their consumers a bit, is more than often used to add in something they couldn’t fit into the final product in time.

Emerald also came out 10+ years ago and most of pokemon’s consumers do not have access to it. It would also be more expensive to pay 40+ dollars for a whole game then play up to that point than it is a couple of bucks when you have probably exhausted everything else in that game

          • Honestly I understand the purpose of DLC, and I don’t even blame them for wanting to make money. Nintendo/Gamefreak can do what they want, when it comes to DLC, but as a consumer I know that I will most likely never bother purchasing any of them.

        • I think DLCs are evil.

Ubisoft made Assassin’s Creed 2, a great game, no DLC. They started putting online multiplayer and then slowly put in DLCs and Micro transactions. Nowadays, you can buy Assassin’s Creed for 59.99, but you can’t have fun playing the game unless you spend atleast 20 USD more on DLC. They make the game shorter to force to buy these DLCs. Seriously though if GF does it, then I fear it will be the end of Pokemon as people will start to lose interest.

          • DLC isn’t inherently bad though. Ubisoft messed it all up but that doesn’t make DLC evil. I like to think Game Freak is better than that. DLC is kind of a dirty word for many in gaming but it really isn’t that bad. The Smash Bros DLC was good. 8 new characters and some stages there if you want them. Nintendo tends to do DLC very well so why should pokemon be an exception

          • GOD, I have spent over 300 dollars on DLCs and Microtransactions in my life time and I will never anymore. Ok maybe just another 30 dollars more on FIFA Ultimate Team.

    • I would love a game that acted as abase. So for example Sun and Moon stands alone as Alola but what if you could buy DLC to add Kanto with a whole new story but the same player and you can take your Pokemon with you and travel between regions and so on with Johto, Hoenn etc etc.. eventually ending up with a game that allows you to access all current and any potential future regions. This type of DLC could be priced much higher than the average $4-5 as it would almost be like adding a whole new game.

      Reply
      • I think like 5-10 for a battle frontier, 10-20 for a new region or something
4-5 for stuff to do after you’ve done everything or small story DLC.

        Reply
        • For me the DLC would have to add a story element or hours of gameplay or a new challenge. I would not pay for items or new clothing etc

  9. Group question; How far is everyone into the game? I’m in the part where I just finished the encounter with Team Skull at Po Town, after I finally finish the Ula Ula Island challenges with Nanu, and now entering the main story-section where the secrets of Aether are being revealed.

  10. For Codename: Pokemon Stars what would you guys like to see added? I’m would love to see more Pokemon from other generations with Kanto taking a huge lead. Honestly, I seriously cannot wait to see Sun/Moon with HD assets, better lighting, and new textures. The game will look great!

  11. Alot of people seem to have their starter way ahead of all of the other team members. I have such a hard time letting that happen because then I dont want them overleveled more so I feel like I cant use them

  12. I love being able to play this with my friend. He has Moon and I have Sun. So if I miss a chance to capture a Pokémon that can only be caught during the day, he’ll catch it and trade me. I’m really having lots of fun with these games <3

    • I imagine doing that with my friend. He’d wake me up in the middle of the night saying “catch me a goddamn Vulpix and don’t forget the Ice stone”

          • Lycanroc’s Version Exclusivity is Bull though, and they should have made Rockruff more obtainable if it’s revealed as early as it was. And why make the Ice Alolans VE? Just do the Sawk/Throh thing and have one much more common than the other.

          • They should have done that! Also they should’ve made Tsareena and Lurantis VE, they look like that would’ve worked! Tsareena obviously for the Moon, and Lurantis for the Sun, it would’ve worked out! And for bot h to get them you’d need to get your VE, your starter and a Fire-type and go to the Lush Jungle, where Mallow would take you on a 10 minute quest to get you the other version Grass type.

  13. I got a female popplio on my first try. Which I am lucky because it was so cute I couldn’t reset even if it were male. However it ended up being adamant however we are working through that little flaw.
