  1. Headcanon: Sophocles = young Earthen. Fails to become a Kahuna. Feels spurned by his dedication to his Electric Pokémon. Dedicates life to their greatest weakness: Ground. And now angry all the time.

  2. Is anyone else surprised by a pokemon that was just supposed to be filler in their team? like Alolan Grimer actually saved me a few times

  3. Well ain’t that a F*cking coincidence wanted to see Orocorio for my Dex and I find Butterfree that 19% less of a chance of finding compared to Orocorio

  4. I must say, I’m really enjoying being attentive to my living dex during my playthrough. Instead of just spamming Ultra Balls at everything I get to utilize whatever make most sense based on what I have at the moment. Repeat Balls are bae right now.

Also random question: So we know if Net Balls are doubly effective on Dewpider and Wimpod?

  5. Yo, back with another question for my adventure. Where or how do we get more Pokebeans that we use in Pokémon Refresh? I am starting to run out of them. Also, the first Mudbray I caught had light clay, so if you are looking for that item, you should try catching Mudbrays.

  6. The Zubat line should have got Alolan forms. It’s the typical rodent/pest animal that would make sense as an Alolan form. Also it would keep Team Skull from using stale as hell Zubats all the time

  7. It’s funny how being older and actually using pseudo-competitive strategies in-game rather than just using brute force and ignoring status moves like a kid (at least that’s what I used to to) makes the games really more enjoyable, and in part makes up for the loss of childhood immersion. It also means you can appreciate in-game trainer strategies.
I’m finally finishing my diamond version while waiting for SM to be out here (don’t ask, I’m the kind of person who follows pokémon news everyday but never found the time to finish a game I’d started between Emerald and Y, despite buying at least one game of every version pair-I wanted to finish them all before SM comes out to have a living dex and finally transfer over my pokémon, but I’ve only had time to do VC Yellow and some heavy grinding in diamond), and I’m really enjoying fighting the gym leaders, especially if I get in an RP 3v3 mindset.
I just defeated Fantina with Driblim lv33, Vespiquen lv34, and Toxicroak lv37. We started out with Drifblim v drifblim, and as I started setting up some stockpiles to boost my defenses and prepare for an eventual heal, she started minimising over and over and by the time I started attacking I kept missing. I did manage to chip her into the red with ominous wind and payback, but she used a hyper potion and by that time I’d already healed and lost my buffs, so I decided to stop wasting time and punish her haxxy insolence with Toxicroak. Two feint attacks quickly burst that balloon. Then it was onto mismagius v vespiquen, and my first instinct, to toxic it, was a good one, because then it just spammed confuse ray and so I had to haphazardly try and heal and chip a few power gems in while it just repeadtedly attacked and confused. Once that screeching pain was down, gengar didn’t last long against ominous wind from a stockpiled drifblim. Battles like this really do give you a sense of accomplishment compared to one-shotting the E4’s teams in Y….
