New information about the upcoming titles Pokémon Sun & Moon will be revealed at 10PM JST and we’ll be cataloguing it all HERE for your viewing pleasure!

Information revealed:

  • Decidueye is Rowlet’s final evolution, Grass/Ghost. New signature move Spirit Shackle prevents foe from switching out
  • Incineroar is Litten’s final evolution, Fire/Dark. New signature move Darkest Lariat ignores foe’s stat changes
  • Primarina is Popplio’s final evolution, Water/Fairy. New signature move Sparkling Aria heals the burns of those it hits
  • Akala Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Lele (Psychic/Fairy)
  • Ula’Ula Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Bulu (Grass/Fairy)
  • Poni Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Fini (Water/Fairy)
  • Tapu Pokémon share a unique Z-Move called Guardian of Alola
  • Cosmog is a Psychic-type Pokémon with ability Unaware
  • Alolan Persian is pure Dark-type
  • Alola is still in the process of building a Pokémon League

  4. It’s sorta interesting to see that the starter evo leaks back in June had the official art for both Primarina and Decidueye, but Incineroar’s offical art in changed. I wonder if they weren’t happy with how it made him look (with the emphasis on the hands and all).

  6. Guys. I think I’m going mad. Im struggling to choose between decidueye and tony for sun! I love infernape and blaziken, so I guess tony is making me a bit nostalgic. Also it’s spinning attack reminds me of flame wheel, my favourite move when I was a kid because of chimchar… Though I like decidueye more as a flying type, and I love its design, it’s just not edgy enough ! I wish it was more ghosts. ITSME, CURE ME!! TELL ME DECIDUEYE MAKES SENSE AS A GHOST TYPE

      • From what I’ve heard she actually had some sort of character development unlike any other female companion Ash has had.
        We’ll probably get someone worse unless they learned from this.

          • I don’t know what world you’re living in where character development is bad. At least she wasn’t a completely blank slate.

            Also she’s infinitely better than the other companions if what I’m hearing is true.

          • well hearing from others is nothing compared to what you see yourself
            and i’ve seen every episode and she basically stood around fantasizing about Ash’s butt and those stupid princess contests she really didn’t do much
            and the writers didn’t even bother to give her a full team
            the least they could’ve done was a episode where she caught a loathed Absol and met an Mega Evolution master where she got absolite but nope

            I never said she was godlike as a character but compared to others she isn’t all that bad.

          • may Dawn and Misty are Legends compared to that blondie
            May aspired to be a contest champion while learning how to actually be a trainer (and had a plethora of memorable rivals (i’m looking at you Harley)
            Dawn wanted to follow her mother’s footsteps and learn through many hardships to get there
            And Misty is OG a determined master of her element and keeping that punk Ash in line

            IRIS IS EVEN BETTER THEN SERENA (and she’s my favorite)

          • Umm…from what I know she was handled pretty badly. She was on Misty level of having nothing to do but cheer Ash in Gyms and league matches.

            May and Dawn were much better companions. Serena was probably better than Iris, but thats probably it.

    What if the data mine information we got was only for sun? (Or moon)

    Meaning, the leaked pokemon in the data mine was primarily sun exclusive and there will be more moon (or sun) exclusive to be revealed once the game comes out.

  14. So seeing as I feel the starters are gonna get Z-Moves and I’m bored af I’m just gonna do this:

    Name: Thousand Feather Flurry
    Type: Grass
    Base Move: Razor Leaf
    Category: Physical
    Power: 70
    Target: Opposing Side
    Effect: Always a critical hit

    Description: Decidueye launches a flurry of its arrow feathers at the foes, hitting weak points and guaranteeing a critical hit.

    Name: Flaming Beast Swing
    Type: Fire
    Base Move: Flare Blitz
    Category: Physical
    Power: 180
    Target: One Pokémon
    Effect: Incineroar takes 1/3rd of the damage it inflicted, but if it defeats a Pokémon, its Attack and Speed will raise by one stage each

    Description: Incineroar coats itself in flames and grabs the opponent, swinging it violently with little concern for itself. Meant to be its wrestling ‘finisher’.

    Name: Serene Swansong
    Type: Fairy
    Base Move: Draining Kiss/Disarming Voice/Misty Terrain (All kinda appropriate, but only one would be chosen)
    Category: Status
    Power: –
    Target: Enemy’s Side
    Effect: Whenever the enemy switches, 1/16th of their HP is drained and Primarina is healed by a certain percentage of this drain (either 50% or 75%, Depends if the move is why good without the bigger drain). Lasts until Primarina faints (or switches out if it’s too OP). Pokémon with Soundproof are unaffected, can’t be used if the Pokémon has been affected by Throat Chop.

    • So let me understand, Rowlett one is simply whatever weak move boosted by a crit, Popplio one is really unuseful cause if the opposite pokemon use roar, dragon tail or does not switch it gains nothing. If the enemy switches one it heals of what? 30 hp at max? Better use recover then a Z -move, don’t you think?

      • A guaranteed critical hit brings it up to 105 Base Power which makes it a slightly better Grass Type Earthquake that ignores stat boosts for your opponents and ignores stat drops for you, as well as not attacking your partner, and if Decidueye gets Sniper that goes up to 140 BP

        Guess it could use a power buff though

        I said that it’d be until Primarina faints if it’s not strong enough

        And in singles, switching happens a whole lot, and not to get technical but Roar and Whirlwind tend to be quite rare and Dragon Tail and Circle Throw don’t affect it and barely affect it, respectively.

  19. So it sounds like all the hate aimed towards Incineroar may be justified – but it’s gonna get upset:

As a result, many tend to dislike this Pokémon and keep it at a distance. If a crowd watching it battle is pumped up, Incineroar’s fighting spirit will burn brighter. I love all this but my one and only small complaint is that even though I love the surprise grass/ghost typing for deducideye, I wish there was a little more justification for such a bold change of course. At the very least I wish, he looked a little more… I don’t know.. Ghostly? He could easily still pas for a grass/flying type if we didn’t know any better but eh whatever! I still like it even though it has five or six weeknesses

            Different people have different things that interest them, and if it doesn’t interest you that’s perfectly normal but you could easily just ignore it since it’s harmless if it bothers you so much

          • because unlike ships there’s actual competition and in this world only those who triumph and conquer are worth something
            And my fairy hatred is all because of competitive and the stupid people who blindly worship them

            and if i got a problem with something i’m not gonna keep it to myself

          • Everytime someone has an opinion that isn’t the popular one there’s always someone there to argue against it though. It’s not completely safe.

            It depends on your definition of civil.
            Some of the semi-regulars here are way too tenacious and will take dislike to people and then attack every other thing that person says. I’ve had to block a few in the past.

            And tbh maybe if you tried explaining to the semi regulars what at ou feels rather than blocking them you’d notice a difference

            For example, I think I used to be a little too tenacious when I joined but guess what? I grew out of it because I saw I was genuinely annoying people. It’s possible that the semi regulars stay like that because you block and move on rather than resolve the issue and resort to blocking if necessary

            See, here you’re making assumptions about what I actually did. I tried to resolve the issue for several hours, blocking was the last resort and I had to resort to it.

          • Sorry my second paragraph isn’t good enough for for you, it’s called ‘I’m a human being and I make mistakes, not noticing my autocorrect and arguing with someone who seriously compared war to a Pokémon forum being two of those’

            And its not my fault you can’t handle the repetition of other people’s opinions, if you took a step back you’d notice that you actually commit quite similar acts :/

            And sorry for assuming, it’s almost like I wasn’t necessarily there and thus coming to the most logical conclusion from my viewpoint

          • I’d much rather admit to not being able to decipher its meaning than to assume its meaning and getting completely the wrong end of the stick.

            I never said I don’t, but I certainly don’t hound people for hours over the same topic.

            In the process assuming I was the one in the wrong and not thinking that I might have been telling the truth. As I told star further up, I almost quit coming here because of it. If people hadn’t come along later I might well have gone ahead with it.

            And no, you may not hound people for hours, but you can get really passive aggressive and dismissive at times which isn’t exactly that much better, and wether you intend it or not, it’s a provocative attitude to take and is probably why you find yourself snared into arguments.

            And tbh neither person in your anecdote are ‘in the right’ or in the wrong because it’s a Pokémon site, we have members from different countries, cultures and all sort of variations that can make one member completely intolerable when they’re not even trying to.

            I’m pretty sure people are just misinterpreting what I’m saying.

            It wasn’t a cultural thing, there was an argument, another person joined in, they went ad hominem and attacked me rather than my argument, I tried to remain civil and end the argument but every time they kept continuing so in the end I had no choice.

          • You could’ve just asked what I meant instead of coming across as blunt.

            And you can write off anything as a misunderstanding

            And you’ve literally only painted it as them regularly giving their opinions over and over rather than an attack on your character, if you have opened with that this whole argument probably wouldn’t of happened because of course you’d block someone who started attacking you and not your ideals

          • The reason I think people are just misinterpreting it is because I never get told things like that in day to day life or when I’m using IM to talk to people I know.

            I’m sorry for forgetting to mention the ad hominem part, I’ve already told two other people the same story, and I forgot I hadn’t mentioned the ad hominem part already.

          • I can see where you’re coming from, I can get snipey in online conversations because I’m usually not able to pace or anything and I get agitated becuase I’m not moving as well as arguing, so sorry if I came across douchey.

          • I mean I think they’re assuming my tone is different to what it is or imagining my personality to be something entirely different to what it is. That and most of the time I talk quite formally, even in informal situations, and use less slang than other people, but that’s just how I think. Sort of like Ducky from NCIS. Heck, I’m actually better than I used to be, there was a point where I wouldn’t even use contractions.

            It’s understandable, I got a bit riled up at one point which I don’t normally. I’ll just chalk it up to misunderstanding.

            I’m not normally a forgetful person (except with people’s names) but these things happen when you’re scrolling up and down and awaiting replies.

            (And that took longer to write than expected.)

          • It’s safe if you want it to be safe. If one person, for me it’s usually Earthen, “hates” on you, you rebuttal, but you shouldn’t get overly upset, because this is just a community for Pokémon fans to discuss stuff. No one knows anyone personally.

          • People are still trying to argue against Earthen as if it’s going to change his opinion? I gave up with that. A news day without Earthen insulting faries is like a cake without icing.

            I can’t remember the exact article but there was a thing a few weeks back where I was discussing something with one person, it decended into an argument and then someone else took their side and started attacking me ad hominem and it dragged out for at least a few hours.

            If it hadn’t been for finding out the next day that people had read the argument and agreed with me/defended me after it was all over I probably would have considered leaving PJ.

          • I’ve never blocked anyone. If someone is bullying you or someone else, you don’t block them and go like “It’s not my problem anymore” you try to deal with the program in a diplomatic way.

            Fairy is an over exaggerated threat in the Meta. Let’s count how much Fairies are OU, shall we? One, two, three, four, five. Two of which are Megas. Let’s compare that to the four non Mega Dragon types, the five Non Mega Electric types, the five Non Mega Ground types, etc. And yeah, it does show up a lot due to Pokémon like Clefable but there’s always going to be a Clefable regardless of what types exist.

            Also, blindly worship? No fam, try ‘likes the type and just doesn’t see th problems you don because most of them are subjective and unclear for everyone’. Besides, don’t see how that’s much different from what you do with Ground types tbh

            And if you have a problem with something, and want to express your feelings, at least be civil about it >->

            And fairy is a threat they’re everywhere and cause problems to a large scale of pokemon
            can you not honestly say Megas gard, maw and Diancie aren’t overpowered
            and i do say people are easily blind followers, take Decidueye everyone jumped ship because of the unexpected Ghost typing and now everyone is whipped in a frenzy

  25. Cosmos is a missed opportunity for a Psychic/Poison type, but I don’t care. It’s really cute and I love the cutscenes. It’s probably like you can only obtain one in the wild.
    Also Ash and Serena kissed… So… Yeah…
