[NEW] Pokémon Sun & Moon Demo Leaks New Pokémon & More

The article below contains spoilers for Pokémon Sun & Moon.

We have chosen not to publish any images obtained from the demo version and as such the information below is a text rundown of what has been uncovered. The comment section of this article will also contain spoilers.

The demo version of Pokémon Sun & Moon is currently live in some regions and some avid trainers have gotten to work uncovering everything the demo has to offer.

It seems that lessons haven’t been learned from Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and the demo files contain information on some currently unannounced Pokémon and over information. It’s unknown if the demo contains files for all new Pokémon in the games, though at this point it seems almost definite.

Leaked Information

Alolan Forms

The demo contains files confirming the existence of many more Alolan Pokémon:

  • Geodude, Graveler and Golem
  • Diglett and Dugtrio
  • Persian

New Pokémon & Ultra Beasts

  • There are at least five new Ultra Beasts, bringing the total to 8
  • The leaked Starter Pokémon evolutions are real
  • Pikipek appears to evolve into a toucan Pokémon in it’s final stage
  • Crabrawler, Wimpod, Morelull and Salandit all receive evolutions
  • Solgaleo and Lunala both have a pre evolution/lesser form
  • A new Pokémon that appears to be based on an anchor
  • A new Pokémon and it’s evolution that were previously leaked by an Amazon listing for the upcoming Sun & Moon TCG expansion
  • Another two Pokémon evolution line that appears to be part Bug type
  • Marshadow is a real Pokémon, but doesn’t look anything like Solgaleo or Lunala
  • Magearna has a form that looks more like a traditional Poké Ball
  • Ash Pikachu is in the game and appears to be able to wear Ash’s hat from each region of the anime
  • [NEW] The Pokémon models found within the demo are only from Pokémon found in the Alola Pokédex

[NEW] Pokémon Moves

  • It seems there are a total of 719 moves in the games, by comparison Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire had 621
  • 3 of these new moves appear to be taught via TM
  • 29 of the new moves are Z-Moves (18 Z-Moves for each type and 11 special Z-Moves)
  • HMs no longer exist and are not available as a regular TM

[NEW] Items

  • There are 920 items present in the demo, 58 of which are related to Z-Moves
  • A new medicinal item similar to Lava Cookie that cures all
  • A new battle item with held effect (like Dire Hit)
  • At least 6 new holdable items with effects
  • A Key Item that is likely used to change Zygarde forms
  • 3 items that are used to change forms
  • Bikes and Travel Trunks (an unused key item) are not in the demo/games
  • The Strange Souvenir item data appears unchanged in the games
  • 1 new type of Poké Ball
    • It appears the new ball cannot be bought or sold

We will update with further details if and when they come.

REMEMBER: This information is currently unannounced and has been leaked from the demo. Please respect the wishes of others and mark your spoilers correctly.

  1. Hmmmm so here’s an intereting thing. Of the leaked Pokemon from the demo none of them were a snow man or dolphin. I wonder if we really do have more new Pokemon coming our way.

    • Snow man might have been the yeti crab evo for crabrawler. Dolphin may have been the purple koko that’s actually a swordfish thing.

    • These are both a stretch, but:
      Snowman – crabrawler evo
      Dolphin – tapu poni
      —–
Yet, it seems odd, because a few credible leaks said Ice/Ghost, and Tapu Poni seems more like a swordfish to me. I do however believe we’ll get more.

      • I feel like those aren’t the ones talked bout. Like you said they seem more like a marlin and yeti crab doesn’t match what we’eve heard. I’d find it odd of the Chinese leaks got every other Pokemon it specifically talked about right and then those two were left out or misleading.

  2. So I figured something out. From what we have seen, Marshadows is #853. Volcanion is #728. That means there’s 125 difference there. Minus 8 Ultra Beasts, minus 16 Alola Forms, That equals 101. Then take out 73 (Gen 7 pokes plus complete Zygarde), that leaves you with 28. WHERE ARE THE 28 MISSING POKEMON? IN THE FINAL GAME!!!! PROBABLY POST GAME LIKE SINNOH. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a3e3faab3ec1f71fe56156b5113d093de4c925574ea94618d16e0cf13a67e8a7.gif

  3. Something I just discovered, don’t know if it was already pointed out. You can assign the pokemon from the poke ride to the direction buttons. For example if i push the left button tauros appears. It’s like you can assign HM

  4. Yo guys I need your help! My 3ds can’t connect to my university’s wifi. I could create a hotspot with my phone but I don’t want to use that much data. Is there some way I can use my laptop to send out some kind of wifi signal I can use with my 3ds?

    • Do you have a McD’s or something nearby with free Wifi? Might be easier. Idk much about these things tbh, sorry I can’t help :/

  5. Even though it’s actually connected to her top, it’s kinda funny how from the back it looks like Plumeria is wearing a thong.

  6. Didn’t notice him before, but there’s a guy next to the Pokemon Center that says he’ll give us something tomorrow and only tomorrow.

    • Neither does Minior, Pyukumuku, and some other pokemon that I’m forgetting.
Plus the credible leaks, some stuff is missing.
      Plus the gamexplain stuff.
      Plus something else I’m forgetting.

Wow I’m really forgetful right now.

  7. There are not anymore Pokemon. Sorry it just isn’t happening. I know it’s disappointing, but just get over it and learn to like these guys. The Chinese leaks could have been mistranslated. Snowman could have easily been referring to a yeti as in a yeti crab as in Crabrawler’s evo. And that Tapu is a dolphin. There are other types of Dolphin than just bottlenose ones. A Rugby monkey isn’t exactly what Passimian is either, but you don’t have people screaming out that that leak hasn’t come to fruition. Based on Hakomo-o’s pokedex number that was extracted with his base stats there is exactly the right number of Pokemon between Kommo-o and Volcanion that have been extracted. we have them all. It’s a done deal. There will likely be more in the third game/sinnoh remakes.

  8. Am I the only one who has ZERO problems with all of the things that have been introduced into Sun/Moon? I swear, people are so picky about these games. I’m just glad GF is trying something new, and while some of their decisions may not have been the best I can still respect the effort that they have put into these games.

  9. anybody else trying to get somebody to evolve in the demo? i figure 30’s is high enough level for atleast one of them to evolve by level up…3/4 of the way up a level on pikipek

  10. Apparently hakkamos base stats were revealed ? What are they? I reallly want to know as I can’t see how they’ll make this guy strong offensively and defensively

  11. I just realized something that 100% convinces me we don’t have all the pokemon: we don’t have the strange souvenir pokemon/the pokemon on the tikis on Mahalo trail. Sure, they were never really confirmed to be pokemon, but if they’re everywhere then there has to be some significance to them.

  12. So apparently Jangmo-o dex number was found to be 782. If you put all the pokemon within it and Volcanion the number fits perfectly:
