The article below contains spoilers for Pokémon Sun & Moon.
We have chosen not to publish any images obtained from the demo version and as such the information below is a text rundown of what has been uncovered. The comment section of this article will also contain spoilers.
The demo version of Pokémon Sun & Moon is currently live in some regions and some avid trainers have gotten to work uncovering everything the demo has to offer.
It seems that lessons haven’t been learned from Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and the demo files contain information on some currently unannounced Pokémon and over information. It’s unknown if the demo contains files for all new Pokémon in the games, though at this point it seems almost definite.
Leaked Information
Alolan Forms
The demo contains files confirming the existence of many more Alolan Pokémon:
- Geodude, Graveler and Golem
- Diglett and Dugtrio
- Persian
New Pokémon & Ultra Beasts
- There are at least five new Ultra Beasts, bringing the total to 8
- The leaked Starter Pokémon evolutions are real
- Pikipek appears to evolve into a toucan Pokémon in it’s final stage
- Crabrawler, Wimpod, Morelull and Salandit all receive evolutions
- Solgaleo and Lunala both have a pre evolution/lesser form
- A new Pokémon that appears to be based on an anchor
- A new Pokémon and it’s evolution that were previously leaked by an Amazon listing for the upcoming Sun & Moon TCG expansion
- Another two Pokémon evolution line that appears to be part Bug type
- Marshadow is a real Pokémon, but doesn’t look anything like Solgaleo or Lunala
- Magearna has a form that looks more like a traditional Poké Ball
- Ash Pikachu is in the game and appears to be able to wear Ash’s hat from each region of the anime
- [NEW] The Pokémon models found within the demo are only from Pokémon found in the Alola Pokédex
[NEW] Pokémon Moves
- It seems there are a total of 719 moves in the games, by comparison Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire had 621
- 3 of these new moves appear to be taught via TM
- 29 of the new moves are Z-Moves (18 Z-Moves for each type and 11 special Z-Moves)
- HMs no longer exist and are not available as a regular TM
[NEW] Items
- There are 920 items present in the demo, 58 of which are related to Z-Moves
- A new medicinal item similar to Lava Cookie that cures all
- A new battle item with held effect (like Dire Hit)
- At least 6 new holdable items with effects
- A Key Item that is likely used to change Zygarde forms
- 3 items that are used to change forms
- Bikes and Travel Trunks (an unused key item) are not in the demo/games
- The Strange Souvenir item data appears unchanged in the games
- 1 new type of Poké Ball
- It appears the new ball cannot be bought or sold

I mean if you look it’s a Yeti crab basis so Yeti’s live in fridgid climates (or speculated to) so my guess shall stand it also gives us an Ice type but proves the first ever leak possibly somewhat wrong knowing… no Snowman

It is the snowman I think. Also I think the dex is incomplete because:
1. Gamexplain found pokemon they couldn’t talk about early game, and that isn’t shown here at all.
2. The 7 can’t be totems, because these are pokedex stills

Go look at the new leaked pokemon. Do you think any of them we haven’t seen look early game? Early as in the first two hours? They sure as h*ll don’t to me.
Some of them might be early (like Geodude or that clear bug thing).

Something that really caught my attention, is that everywhere you walk you hear Pokemon cries. Thats actually amazing. It makes the game feel so much more alive and vibrant
I spent several minutes trying to figure out where the Pokemon was coming from. I could’ve sworn it was behind the police station, but when I would check it would seemingly move out front. :p

There’s your problem though. You’re tackling this argument under the assumption that liking=appreciating, which simply isn’t true. You can dislike a Pokemon and still appreciate the origin and days, weeks, or months of thought that went into making it.
Example: I don’t like Vanilluxe too much but the thought behind it is surprisingly clever!

Please don’t put words in my mouth as I never have, and never would, say something so insensitive. You’re entitled to your opinion, but you haven’t even given them a chance. I rarely like a Pokemon the same day it’s revealed, but eventually I come to appreciate each one even if I don’t necessarily like it.
if you think they look great than its good for you, but dont accuse others who didnt like it that they dont appreciate the effort and creativity, as if there is no other choice but to love them.
What we have looks great, I’m just dissapointed at some wasted potential.

Either there isn’t one, we haven’t seen it, or Marshadow somehow is and it’s just Mythical instead.
I’d say probably the first if we truly have seen all the new Pokemon.

However until we know Marshadows type we can’t say. If it isn’t Psychic then I’ll doubt it even more, Legendary trios that have a common type tend to have all 3 having that type. not just 2. If it is Psychic, and has a unique type like was leaked, it’s either Psychic/Poison or Psychic/Bug, and it doesn’t look like either of those to me.
To me it looks Dark/Fairy.
I wonder if Pokeride replaces the Bike. It obviously replaces HM’s, with the old HM moves becoming TM’s, but we haven’t seen the Bike yet.
gamexplain confirmed they do replace HM’s.

I’d say it seems pointless due to riding, but, it did exist alongside skates so
The bike was better than the skates though, the skates were hard to keep in a straight line/didn’t go as fast.
Oh man I hated the skates, I wanted to use the that pad for walking but everytime you used it skates came up, I wish you could turn them off

I think the pokeride system will replace the bike since Tauros seems pretty fast, but a lot of the pokemon are quite bulky so I could be wrong.
Fun fact: if you have a pokemon encounter whilst riding a pokemon, the battle shows the trainer in their riding clothes. And the helmet looks like a Hawlucha.

I prefer the Pokeride clothes to the default character ones.

Watch: the Oct. 27 reveal is just one pokemon: Komala’s evo. It’d be huge news, just revealing that one pokemon.

I think maybe space blob may represent the space “void”. Ear-like things coming out of it may just look like that because certain part of its animated model is taken. It can be someting like smoky animation, stardust coming out of its body like a smoke. And space ring may represent the stars, IDK. They seem interesting.

Has anyone confirmed Alolan Dugtrio’s type? It’s clearly still a ground type, but what type does it gain?
I’m going to guess normal or fairy.
Mullet type, like Alolan Professor Oak.
I could see it being just Ground still. It could just be an aesthetic change with the possibility of a stat boost.
