As promised a bunch of Pokémon Sun and Moon information has just been released! The update brings us information on Pokémon and the region of Alola!

New Information
- Passimian is a new Fighting-type Pokémon with the ability Receiver, exclusive to Pokémon Sun. The new Receiver ability appears to allow the Pokémon to take on the abilities of fallen Pokémon
- Oranguru is a Normal/Psychic-type Pokémon with the ability Inner Focus/Telepathy. Oranguru can also learn a new move called Instruct
- Pikachu has an exclusive Z-Move called Catastropika
- Extreme Evoboost is Eevee’s exclusive Z-Move
- Pokémon Refresh allows trainers to take care of their Pokémon after battle. Trainers can clean their Pokémon, pet them and even cure status conditions. Similarly to Pokémon Amie, Refresh will also give boosts to Pokémon that have become affectionate towards their trainer – dodging moves and holding out even longer when they’re near fainting
- Lycanroc is the name of Rockruff’s Evolution. It’s Midday Form is exclusive to Sun version and is Rock-type with the ability Keen Eye/Sandrush. Midnight Form Lycanroc is exclusive to Moon version, remains Rock-type and has the ability Keen Eye/Vital Spirit
- Accelerock is a move exclusive to Midday Lycanroc
- Lunala and Solgaleo influence Rockruff when it evolves and causes it to evolve into either Midday or Midnight Form Lycanroc
- Trainers can spend Festival Coins to customise their appearance

Just look at their names for the Z moves, they clearly get drunk every few days.
Honestly I feel like SM has good designs, but the worst pokemon names of all the generations. Every new batch of information I notice one or two that don’t work out as well as they thought.
Some are good, like Morelull and Lurantis.
Some are plain awful: Wishiwashi, Pulverising Pancake, Stoked Sparksurfer… can’t even remember Pikachu’s awful awful Z move name.
I know the Japanese names were better.
Snorlax’s translated to something like “it uses a serious attack” and Raichu’s was Lightning Surf Ride.
Maybe it plays off the term “Prosimian” for lemurs.
Something I think is interesting: humans are more closely related to lemurs, despite common belief that we’re close to monkeys.

Downloaded a table of 721 pokemon, sorted the data into pokemon that evolve from a pokemon and pokemon that don’t evolve from anything (i.e. first forms and non-evolvers), highlighted them and let the software count for me.

The new pokemon are cool I guess? I don’t hate them like Bewear, but I likely won’t be using them anytime soon. Also, I know that the normal type is a strength instead of a weakness here, but why are they just kinda slapping it onto alot of pokemon that don’t really need it? It seems unnecessary. I feel like ther really missed the mark with Lycanroc’s name. What? Lycanroc? Why isn’t it Lycanthroc? That sounds infinitely better in my opinion. The eevee z move looks cool, but I feel like only fully evolved pokemon should get Z moves. The new amie looks great though! I love how it actually uses location background this time, and Rowlet looks adorable! :O I’m glad we got a look at customization, that’s great. Also having the ability to dye clothing will be so cool! It’ll open up many more possibilites than XY had. Also I like the festival coins thing, I hope they’re easy to get. It was so annoying spending my life savings just to get one shirt in XY. Anyway, we have to wait two weeks for new info. 🙁 I know it’s not that long, but they’ve been spoiling us so much recently, this’ll feel like a huge drought.

Yeah, we already had a meta game changing mechanic. Plus these, if used correctly, seem to all be OHKO. There’s no strategy there, not like mega evolution.
Except Eevee’s which doesn’t do damage, and the examples where they were first introduced didn’t knock the opponent out.

I literally love everything about Sun and Moon other than Kanto Pokémon being the only ones with Alola forms. I can’t handle how hyped I am for these games. x_X

Lycanthroc sounds like a disease to me.
Lycanroc doesn’t roll of the tongue. Plus the pun is off of Lycanthrope. It even has an “r” after the “th” for the “roc” to use, yet it is called Lycanroc. It seems like bad planning to me.
“Lycan” means wolf (from the greek lykos).
They probably cut out the ‘anthros’ aspect on purpose

Honestly I have absolutely no issue with blindly loving everything GameFreak adds to Pokémon. (Other than contests/musicals. Never got into those.) This isn’t politics. Legitimate world problems do not arise due to blindly supporting something. So I take the opinion of why bother hating something, or parts of something, that I love? I’d rather just enjoy it. So I do. So I will. Everyone else can get upset over this feature or that, I’ll be over here having a god damn blast.

Seriously though, we have 9 normal types and 7 fairy types so far, and yet we don’t have a single ice or dark type. I really hope we get one of each at least on the 4th. I thought Lycanroc was going to be dark in the midnight form, but it clearly isn’t now, so we’re back at square one.

I’d be really dissapointed if we get 9+ normal types and only 2 ice types (the line presumably). Ice already gets the short end of the stick enough, and dark got nerfed last gen. Give them some love.

Tetsuya Nomura himself recently released artwork for the 1st anniversary of Unchained X. Guess who’s on it? Skuld, Ephemer and Ventus.
If you dont know who Skuld and Ephemer are: they are Keyblade wielders in UX with the sole goal to gather Lux (bit like the player) but they were also picked by Ava (one of the Foretellers) to join a small group of Keyblade wielders who would receive the ability to live past the Keyblade War and keep the legacy of the Keyblade alive. These individuals are called Dandelions.
Instruct is going to be such a fun move to use in double battles. You didnt die, take a double earthquake!

Really depends on it’s stats though. It only has Bug and Dark weaknesses, the most common being Dark moves, if it can’t be worn down by burn or poison it could be very difficult to take down. It looks pretty defensive to me.
But…you can just catch one with Telepathy..? So no, it’s not %50. If you have one with telepathy it’s not like it switches between the two between battles
It’s 50% if you haven’t caught one yet, or if you’re battling someone and don’t know which they’ve got.

Ehh, stat wise its debatable. Its got a high attack and defense stat equal to golem, with some solid sped to boot. Its less that Monograss is bad, which it really isn’t, but rather it just has a lackluster movepool since physical grass is rather limited.
Also Grass is poor defensively so even all that defence doesn’t help it hang around for too long.
yeah. Five weaknesses for four resistances is a rough trade, but it can work for the right pokemon with the right stats. Here’s hoping that riven Rowlet seems to be a physical grass pokemon that they show a little love for them, or maybe five up one of its weaknesses. Like Poison maybe? Kind of seems odd that plants are weak to poison, given most poison’s seem to be made from plants.

According to How Long To Beat, Majora’s Mask is 20 hours long on average.

My OCD cannot handle that. Thank lord arceus above that they’re getting rid of flying (seemingly) because when you used to need a flying type on your team it would kill me if I ever wanted to use a pokemon like gyarados and also a flyer. I just can’t have more than one type. I can’t.
I tend to not use more than one type but I’m just going off of appeal for these games
If I did that my team would be:
-Rowlet
-Vikavolt
-Lycanroc (midday)
-Oricorio (baile)
-Jangmo-o
-wimpod/cutiefly
But that’d be two flying types and two bugs. But I also won’t go with Jangmo-o since I predict it’s the pseudo and those aren’t really fun to use in game especially on a first playthrough.

Pokémon XY has a great dex and really cool region inspiration
Pokémon Soul Silver has a terrible leveling curve
XY had great communications, as simple as that sounds. The PSS was the perfect solution.
Oh! Forgot the last part. For HGSS, I wish that there werent so many Johto pokemon post game locked.

Pokémon XY had some unique and likeable Pokémon (Quilladin, Dedenne, Sylveon, Amaura, ect.)
Pokémon D/P had way too many Evos. locked till post-game

Yeah, it was really stuck in the middle.
It had some interesting places, but not enough to do within the places themselves. I would have liked a few more small islands. Maybe a Sevii style extension instead of just mirages.
Least favorite: X&Y, but I love updated sprites
Favorite: HGSS, Also the grinding/weak trainers
X/Y has Aegislash and I like the 3 dee
Emerald doesn’t have all the new pokemon.
1st/2nd gen I love the worlds/music of both gens
DPPl – There is a good amount of grinding needed plus DP had its problems that Platinum improved on
(unpopular opinion alert!) I loved Y, but I disliked the lack of overall character development.
I didn’t care for Silver, but I loved the music.
