As announced last week today we’ve been treated to a megaton of new information for Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon! An all-new trailer has been released showcasing new Pokémon, Ultra Beasts, new mechanics and even more.
In addition to the English trailer, a Japanese trailer has been released containing some slightly different footage, though shares the same information.
New Information
- Ultra Beasts are revealed and don’t appear to be Pokémon as we know them
- Type: Null is a Normal-type Pokémon that has the ability Battle Armour. Type: Null is a synethtic Pokémon that was created to synthesize the strengths of various Pokémon, meaning it can adapt to any situation. The Pokémon’s mask is used to control it’s powers and also slows the Pokémon down
- Jangmo-o is a new Dragon-type Pokémon with the ability Bulletproof/Soundproof
- Alolan Raticate are Dark/Normal-type with Gluttony/Hustle for their ability
- Pokémon Sun & Moon are set 12 hours apart from one another, meaning certain events in the games will play out differently
- The Aether Foundation are a new group in Sun & Moon
- Lusamine is President of the foundation, Faba is a Branch Chief and Wicke is an Assistant Branch Chief
- Gladion is Team Skull’s Enforcer
- The Zygarde Cube is an item given to players that allows you them collect Zygarde Cores and Cells across the Alola region
- Poké Finder allows you to take photos of Pokémon using your Rotom Pokédex
- UB-01 is an Ultra Beast
That’s all that has been officially revealed in the trailers, though we invite our readers to discuss and speculate in our comment section below!
POKEMON SNAP????? I GOTTA GRAB MY APPLES
Wow this is very cool! It’s amazing that Pokemon Sun/Moon take place in the opposite time!
Isn’t Gladion the “mean” rival everyone wanted
Hey, at least they addressed version exclusive stuff for the people who were curious 🙂
So I’m a bit confised with Sun and Moon’s 12 hours? Does it mean that the times won’t follow the 3DS clock and go on its own basis, or the time will be flipped?
it will go on its own basis probably or will still go by the clock of the 3ds but the game knows to be 12 hours ahead
Ah makes some sense. I mean I don’t mind but I was jc how it would affect time based evos or breeding and etc.
Type: Null? Jangmo-o? What in the world is this?
UB-01!!!
I think Type Null means there are different ‘types’ of that mon, like a fire one, water one, etc.
what the bloody hell is an ultra beast ?
a beast who is ultra
type:null is that a error or the actually name
Imagine thinking its an error when its in the official trailer..
eh everybody makes mistakes lol someone probably got fired tho
That would be the most hilarious thing ever.
Dexio and Sina are back.(from x and y)
Wow! Some neat information!
That Ultra Beast has a great design. Love it. Wonder what it means.
That 2nd team looks neat, love the design.
At this point I worry if they make the games overcomplicated with all these forms, beasts and teams.
But it doea look awesome.

wow the rage quit. Earthen’s child?
cutifly evo ppl.
where
1:01
gross i’ll get the bug spray and semi-automatic
lol they screwed up. But it looks good, but worrysome as it looks a bit too much like Ledian. Hopefully its not at all like it XD
its never an accident, it was intential of GF to reveal it this way
IT LOOKS AWESOME AAAAHHHH
I am very confused. And were those two Dexio and whoever the other one was?
Yes 🙂 the theme is distinct to them from X and Y
most likely yes
could that vortex jellyfish pokemon might have any connection to Giratina in any way?
Those Ultra Beasts look like artificial Pokemon. My guess is that second team are behind them.
And hey, now we know what the artificial island is, it’s the Aether Foundation base 🙂
Got a feeling that these Ultra beasts will have some special typing.
The ultra beast reminded me an awful lot of Lillie.
Thought the same thing cookie for you.I am placing bets she is lillie
Have you gone on to the official site?
UB-01’s information:
“UB-01’s body is composed of a glass-like substance. However, it’s constantly changing shapes, never settling on one.
While evidence of something like a survival instinct can be observed in UB-01, no one knows whether it has a will of its own or any emotions. It’s said that, for some reason, its movements resemble those of a young girl.”
Young girl.
Well, have you all noted that Lillie, Lusamine and Skull team Enforcer Gladion all have the same hair and eye color? Someone pointed out that Gladion might have a shaky hand because he can’t contain his human form for long.. ha. They might or not be the Ultra Beasts! Specially since Gladion is using a Synthetic Pokémon.
so Lilly is probably that jellyfish like pokemon, interesting
Thought the same thing.I am placing bets she is lillie
Just a note, the Jp Trailer is up as well, and has different footage. Nothing new though, apart from confirming some old pokemon
To Sinnoh it is!
What?
WAIT THAT THING’S NAME IS TYPE: NULL WHAT THIS IS TOO HILARIOUS WHAT
Ok Ok so the Aether Foundation is the real bad guy. Can we all agree on that? hahahah
Especially cause the Ultra Beasts look to be because of them, based from what I saw on the JP trailer
Yeah. they’re probably artificially made Pokemon and that doesn’t jive with the Pokemon nature gods lol
Why so quick to just push Team Skull too the side like they are “good enough” to be the evil team….?
the boy and girl blondes in the trailer looks like they’re related to the rich girl, due to the green eyes that they have.
It can’t be Cynthia because her eye color is grey
The three weirdest names in Pokemon revealed on the same day…how about that? I can’t wait to hear more, I’m intrigued.
I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS
