I have to go with Lance, although I love Agatha and Lorelei.
I think it’s based on the fact that I never did make it to the E4 myself and is based more so on design and the fact that I know Lance from GSC and HGSS
I love Bruno but I chose Lorelei I messed up
I have always loved Lorelei. When I played PKMN for the first time and I went to the Elite Four I was surprised because I didn’t even know that there was an “Ice type”. In Gen I, the ice types are very rare and there are very few trainers that use them. So when I fought her I was like… okay, another Water type gym leader. I’m gonna finish her with my grass types… and then she started Blizzarding everywhere and I was like… OMG, WHAT DA HELL IS HAPPENING.
Agatha, however, was quite disapointing. It was like, “hey, I use terrorific ghost types” and then uses an Arbok and a Golbat. I was kind of… seriously? do you even know what a ghost is? I mean, I know there was only a ghost type line back on those days, but, in that case, I wonder why Nintendo didn’t make her a Normal, Flying or Bug type. It would have had more sense, as there where more pokemons and attacks of these types.

Honchkrow is one of the best flying pokemon, without question. A shame though that it seems that Alolan Raticate is moving in on its territory. Alola’s going to have some serious gang warfare. Then again maybe that’s what led to the inspiration of team skull.

In Leaf green before I lost it my Blastoise beat one Onix of his then was beat by next Pokemon and that was as far as I got (only Blastoise beat Lorelei and survived)

Basically open up PSS(the thing you have to pull up to do any battles or trading with other trainers. Its the yellow tab on OORAS where you can pull up pokemonamime and super training), select wonder trade, select a random pokemon for your pc that you have no intention of ever using, and hope you get something cool on the reviving end. I got a legit shiny machop the other day.

yup. Really its the easiest way to get rid of the pokemon you breed, but have no use of. So you’ll often get pokemon with hidden abilities that just had bad iv’s or a bad nature. Othertimes you’ll get early route pokemon from people playing wonderlocks. And every once and awhile you’ll get a genned lv. 100 shiny with perfect ivs, and its best hold item.
Going with Lorelei because of the manga. I never really was a fan of Agatha. Bruno isn’t bad, but fighting type isn’t my favorite. Lance is alright, but 3 dragonites in his champion team is dumb

Ok. So I like this, but I still hope we get to do a Legendary Showdown.
So honest thought that came up while marathoning the anime. Since we know that Mega’s have all but been confirmed to be returning at this point, I wonder if they’ll be taking a page from the anime and making Mega stones be displayed on the models ingane before being used. It would be a cleaver nerf as you would see instantly if the pokemon has a megastone or not, and honestly it doesn’t seem like it would require much work to add something small to existing models. Any thoughts on the idea?
I think it might be cool to see something like that, and I think it’s feasible. The only thing I’m wondering is if you’d be able to customize the devices that can hold the mega stone, or if they just make one model for each different pokemon.
I could see just having a single model for every pokemon, with Charazard and Mewtwo being the acceptations of course. Like it wouldn’t be hard to make a little wristband for Gengar, or maybe a little bow for Mawile.

Yeah, but the over all design won’t change. The only reason it lost weight and such was due to some inconsistencies with how it was being drawn back in the day. Now there’s a standard and they won’t stray too far from it.

Well I’m hoping Alolan pokemon only evolve from their Alolan pre-evolutions that just makes a bit more sense to me.

No that is incorrect cause if a base stage gets a Alolan forms it’s Evos should too yet an evolved Pokemon that shows it evolve in a sequence of the game shows it won’t but its evolution had a change also it’s shown in the official gameplay at E3 Pichu doesn’t get one which sparks that Pikachu won’t either (most likely also Eggsecute and Cubone won’t either)

No as Raichu keeps its electric typing. I would be willing to bet that the evolved Pokemon that keep their typing the same in some capacity don’t need to have their pre evos change. The only one that has me confused is Cubone, but until we have solid proof it’s hard to say.

well Seismitoad is bit of a puzzler but Waterfall needs a pokemon that can rush through a waterfall

Ever tried out doing Pokemon X and Y but with no Exp Share and no megas? It was actually very difficult for me.

-No evolving allowed, you must use form-1 pokemon only (with the exception of pokemon that have a child form, in which case their form-2 is permitted).
-No evolite.
-No pokemon who aren’t capable of evolving (e.g. Kangaskhan).

Thank you soo much! I’ve been wanting to use a Johto native fire type besides Cyndaquil for a while now but I always assumed that you couldn’t since you can’t catch Slugma or Houndour in Johto. This helped perfect my team. I feel silly for not knowing about this after all this time.

You can only use pokemon of the type of the previous gym you fought. After defeating another gym, you cant progress until you have at least two pokemon of that type. Beginning of the game is free, You can use what ever you want. Nuzlocke and Dupes clause are optional

As someone pointed out though earlier in these comments, it has been confirmed already that Megas are returning on Pokenchi(I think I spelled that right) by Masuda himself. In fact given the 2017 merchandise reveal, its very likely we’ll have new mega pokemon as well.

why does everyone say agitha uses ghost types? she had an entirely poison team. she’s clearly a poison type trainer. anyways, voting for her, she’s the only interesting one here.
Because:
A) In gen 1 there were only 3 ghost pokemon.
B) She was the only elite 4 member whose entire team shared a type, which wasn’t intentional.
C) In FireRed/LeafGreen, the famechecker claims: “Agatha’s Ghost-type Pokémon are horrifically terrifying in toughness.”
D) In her FR/LG rematch, she replaces one with Misdreavus.
ah neato I didn’t know that. kinda funny how lance is actually a mono-flying type champion in gen 2. I thought it was also kinda funny how she was replaced by koga who was supposed to be a poison type trainer as well.
Yeah, they didn’t really thing things through in the early generations. In gen I there were only 3 dragon types, 1 dragon move and no way for dragon moves to gain STAB. In gen II there were precisely 4 dragons including the original 3.
Replacing her with Koga made sense. The game was supposed to be set later on and she was already the oldest elite 4 member ever. (Maybe she died… spooky thought).
I’m guessing because Gengar’s line was the only ghost types in gen 1 so it would be hard to fill her team out with just Gengar and haunter. I do agree that she should’ve been poison though

Am I the only one who is getting a bit tired of all this gen 1 love? I mean, I thought that during the 20th anniversary they would have celebrated all pokemon not only the first 151. Now, Gen 1 has the greatest number of Mega Evolutions (15) after gen 3 (20) and has really nothing to do with it (Gen 6 has just Diancie and is the generation in which it was introduced). Now, Generation 7 introduced unique Z-Moves and the Alola Form and just Generation 1 is getting both for now. You know what, I’m bored of seing Charizard getting something new, I know it’s a famous and loved pokemon but I’m tired of it. And I’m tired of Mewtwo too. Why didn’t they make a remake for 3ds if they wanted to make them shine again? Cause gen 1 at the centre of each new generation is not cool any more imo. I want some love for forgotten pokemon not just for the famous ones. I want an Alolan Cherrim with a mega evolution and a Cherriium Z that will destroy the metagame.

they are epic just because you were a kid when you played it. Greninja could kill them one by one till the end with a better ability and a more original design, yet they will be epic anyway. There’s no rational sense in loving old pokemon more then new ones. It’s just an emotional thing, when people will understand that they will stop saying 1st generation was the best.
Gen.1 Trumps Gen.6 20fold imo it is dead last in Best Generations yes it has some good ones but a lot of things from it are worse than Gen.1 story wise at least Gen.7 so far Trumps all past regions so that’s good imo!
I agree. I’ve been playing since Red and blue and I think Generation 1 had some terrible designs and was all around a bland experience. Nostalgia is the only thing keeping it relevant. There were a few good Pokemon from that time but the Pokemon made now are much more unique and interesting

They’re desparately trying to make the gen 1 era fans come back.
They should just let it go and focus on the true fans who actually stick with the series and embrace some of the newer pokemon.
Gen 1 is the gen that started it all so it kinda makes sense for them to get the attention. If gen 1 would of failed there wouldn’t be a 20 year anniversary.

Ugh I really want Tyranitar on my SS team, but its gaining slow xp ffs.
I don’t see how Lance is winning. He was one of the more bland ones in Kanto. I’d understand voting for him in the Johto polls, but this is Kanto where he had little significance in both the games and the anime (I don’t know about the manga though). If I recall correctly, none of them appeared outside the league, save for Lorelei on Four Island in the remakes, and only Lorelei and Bruno appeared in the early anime seasons.

Lance was cooler in Johto. I like Lorelei and Bruno better.
In the Manga (Pokemon adventure not that stupid Clefairy one) Lance and the E4 are the main antagonists trying to destroy the region because of maltreatment of Pokemon and pollution (Yellow chapter read books 4-7 or 9 I think)

Remember that 10do rumor that the NX would be revealed tomorrow? It’s seriously getting crazy, I don’t know what to believe anymore. Yesterday everyone came to the conclusion that it was all a ruse due to the picture posted below. Now, the website posted a THIRD article about the topic, asking people to wait until tomorrow to pass judgments about the website’s honesty and trustworthiness, as well as leave their media partners and associated communities alone. This is not a humorous joke any longer, if that is what’s happening.

It’s always interesting when full websites and communities post about rumors such as this. Fro individuals it makes sense that they could be lying and making stuff up, but when an established website talks rumors up as if they’re real it really gets you thinking. Do they have any reason to lie? Would the small amount traffic before they’re outed as fake do them any good in the long run? What do they really have to gain form posting lies as facts? Hard to say for sure, but it is always fun to see what happens.
No, they don’t. I’ve been reading their comments on Facebook and YouTube and longtime fans insist that 10do would never engage in clickbait such as this. I just feel like they would not be taking a joke so seriously and responding to criticism in this serious fashion. I can’t say I’ve seen anything like it when it comes to practical jokes.

Yea, I doubt it. Tomorrow is solely just going to be Pokemon News, why would Nintendo have a random, unknown event when the NX is something so huge. I read in some NeoGaf threads that this was actually a fake joke. I believe the NX will be reveal on September 16th, similar to the comment on Emily Rogers WordPress.
To be fair, the Pokemon news is at 6AM and this supposed event is at 7-8AM (PST), and Pokemon isn’t owned by Nintendo and can probably make independent decisions. I’m still thinking this is a joke as well, but it’s just odd how they’re insisting they’re not joking around.

I’ve been testing on showdown. I’d rather be able to see how my whole team works together. The 3 Pokemon limit is horrible IMO.
Plus you can use the OU tier so you dont have to deal with Mega Kanga

Base stats of 95 HP, 105 Defense, and 100 speed >>> anything Stantlers got. 80 attack is pretty decent for a play through as well. I’d take Body Slam (Strongest normal move for Milktank) with 30% paralyze chance over Take Down (Stantler’s strongest normal move) as well.
I know Miltank is much better then Stantler. I’m just saying I’d rather try out Stantler instead to see how it does 😛
Stantler has better attack to be fair, and its move pool is very similar. Plus it would use Return to full effect.

Two things to keep in mind:
1. most DMCA’s come from Nintendo of Japan, and the Japanese business world is very cutthroat and strict. They will shut down anything that could be a risk to their business.
2. Copyright law’s really kinda weird where you have to defend it like crazy. Like letting anything slide, like the game in that case, allows for anyone else to make a case for their product. So for example if someone creates a rom hack it has to be shut down due to the fact that if they didn’t, it would mean that anyone would effectively take Mario assets and use then in any way they wanted without Nintendo’s permission, and could use that one case of letting a fan game slide being the justification as to why they can do it. the legal system sucks sometimes, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Back in college the only one who ever told us off for swearing was some middle aged woman in our class.
None of the other teachers batted an eyelid at us swearing, and some even swore themselves. Admitedly we weren’t using that particular word, but that was pretty much the only word I never heard anyone use at college.

Wild Chansey evolved to help heal injured pokemon using using the various herbs in the surrounding areas. Losing the egg over time, it now uses its pouch as storage for medicinal transport.
And then if you want to spin it further, wild chansey could maybe become some sort of shaman type thing, with part ghost type. I actually think normal/grass with something like the above thing could work

I just recently replayed LG. I went against my usual Chamander and chose Squirtle though.
I think it’s really stupid that Nintendo shut down the online features of the old games! Don’t they realize that lots of people still play them???
While it does suck, it’s understandable. Keeping those online features isn’t exactly free for them and its really hard to justify keeping them up when they’ve long been replaced and the number of users who would use them is abysmal.
I know, it just sucks that I can’t play with some of my old friends because they don’t have the new games and they live far away.

Tomorrow is going to be awesome. First, Pokemon news. The demo *might* be announced, but I seriously doubt that. I expect that in late October. What I want in terms of new Pokemon is a couple Alolan forms (Abra line, Krabby line, possibly Electabuzz and Magmar? There are lots I want to see). For new Alolan Pokemon, I’d love more Ground, Ice, and Steel representation. New type combinations are also a must. I’m sure we’ll all be blown away by one or two designs. After the Pokemon news, I can’t wait for 10do to be obliterated and ridiculed off the Internet by angry Nintendo fans. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, don’t worry about it.

I still love my idea from many months ago. Rock/Fighting dinosaur based off of the Utahraptor, known for its one giant claw on each foot. The design would look cartoony and ridiculous with the claw being enormous, making it difficult for the poor thing to stand. The claws would be capable of crushing reinforced steel.

Well, since Megas are likely not returning this time (sorry not sorry), I think Alolan forms are much more likely. Wouldn’t it be clunky to have Mega Evolution, Primal Reversion, Alolan forms, and Z-Moves in all games going forward? That’s my opinion, at least. It has to be partitioned to give each game some uniqueness.
After making mega evolution such an essentail part of the game I doubt GF would something so stupid like removing Mega evo. It’s like removing fair type.

Wouldn’t be surprised if DP remakes were the Pokemon games to be released on the NX next year. Game Freak is kicking patterns out the window, Sparta-style.
I still hate the idea of the Nx being a Console/Handheld Hybrid.
Honestly given a lot of things have put the rumors into question, and almost every rumor since the hybrid rumor has been built on that idea, I’m willing to guess its a fake. Its more people buying into things that sound convincing without really understanding the market in the slightest and why things are done the way they are.
Honestly the only thing I would even take a wild guess at is that they would base the controllers off of the 3ds and allow you to use one as a controller. They already tested the idea back with smash and it worked well enough. It would cut down on the controller market issue, and they could easily incorporate the idea of capturing 3ds games through the console for recording, since people have already shown that the 3ds can record without a capture card with the right software, which is a bit glitchy and in its current form can brick your 3ds, but leave it to nintendo to figure out a way to make it work right.
The software probably does screwy things with the backbuffer. The reason capturecards are used is because the extra hardware gives a speed boost unobtainable by using a software implementation unless the hardware already has components designed for video caputre.
Compare it to a computer GPU, where Nvidia have actually invested time and money making sure their GPUs have the circuitry to do proper high speed video encoding (i.e. Shadowplay). The GPU in the 3DS probably doesn’t have that or probably only has it in limited form because it would be expensive otherwise. Like how when they made the NES they used an abridged version of the MOS 6502 (I think it was made by Ricoh) that didn’t have Binary Coded Decimal support because they deemed it unnecessary.
Well it might not be. It could be a separate handheld and console based on more trusted sources. I think EuroGamers and Emily Rogers are detailing the handheld.
That could be, but their have been a few red flags about it. FOr starters, Emily Rogers has lost a lot of credibility between saying that Links gender could be chosen in breath of the wild, saying mother 3 would be announced at E3 and saying the NX would be a high powered console, before immediately retracting her previous statements ans supporting the popular rumors.
As for Eurogamer, I do recall people bring up that the chip sets, or something like that, that were said to be developed by Nedvia were false and Nedvia openly stated that they weren’t making anything of the sort that was described by Eurogamer. As well, Eurogamer has nothing to lose in stating false rumors as they never named their source, and can simply pin all of the blame on their source, if it even exists.
Naturally she makes things up to get followers and popularity.

Nvidia and Nintendo working together sounds too good to be true. Though it could be true given that many people were expecting them to switch to AMD for their GPU like Sony and Microsoft.
Part of the driving force behind the hybrid idea is a patent supposedly filed by Nintendo. I must admit the patent looks realistic, but I have no idea who actually submitted it.

I wouldn’t count on it. On the batter, not the DP remakes. The DP remakes are all but confirmed with the colors, and the fact that the starting island has areas based on Diamond head and Pearl Harbor.

But back to what I was saying, I could see them giving empoleon like a water jet pack or something and making an ability that’s like a super levitate, giving him immunity to ground and giving him back his resistance to fire. Though that might be a bit too much. I think at that point he has only one weakness, being fighting.

Empoleon is OP enough already though.
I think it’s more likely they’d make its flippers larger so they act as shields and give it a defence boost.
Though making its crown larger and giving it lighting rod would change its Electric weakness into an immunity.
That would be pretty cleaver as well, and wound make sense to a degree. Thunder snow is a thing, and I can see them going for something of a god emperor vibe with its design.
But yeah it is pretty op.

But also the way Empoleon wears it I can imagine it acting as a sort of Faraday cage and drawing the electricity away from its actual body and into its metallic parts.
Would also make crossing the ocean in stormy weather easier.
One thing that has always disappointed me about pokemon is that it almost never rains over the oceans. I liked in Mewtwo Strikes Back how they had the massive storm cutting off sea travel.
Oh yeah. God, or what ever his actual name was. The sky island ark was a pretty fun one back in the day. And yeah that would make a good deal of sense. Here’s hoping that fans and creators might be on the same page when it comes time for them to think of the design’s for the Sinnoh starters.
And yeah that does suck, though I imagine its more for balancing then anything. The extra damage would be really punishing as almost everything you would fight on water would get boosted from the rain, if not having their abilities activate as well. Though it would be a great way to show off the power of rain to players. So who knows.

Skypeia. Which I think got reduced to missing half of Jaya (dubbed ‘Upper Yard’ by the inhabitants) after the Eneru incident. On the bright side, he did actually make it to the moon in the end.
I think that’s precisely why they should do it – to add some extra challenge. They could set it up so that the player is either prevented from travelling completely because of the storm – i.e. it’s a way of preventing the player from going to a part of the map they can’t reach yet, or the player could be warned against travelling across the water but has to do so anyway for the sake of reaching the next area or something to do with a legendary. Besides, you’d be fine if you had a few Electric pokemon since Thunder becomes a sure-hit move in rain.
Weather is really underused. The ocean should be rainy, the volcano should be sunny, it should snow on the icy mountains and there should be sandstorms in the dessert. None would be safe.

I have only three more mainline Pokemon games left until my collection is complete: LeafGreen, Ruby and Sapphire. I’m really determined to complete my goal for Gen 7 of completing this collection (spin-offs don’t count, I’m WAY behind on that). It might be a costly endeavor, but I want to get it all done at once. Then, I can focus on the future 😀

I was just double battling a passerby in ORAS. It really looked like they were going to win – they had a Charizard Y and a Guts Swellow left, and I had a Blissey on low health as well as a Darmanitan that could easily be OHKO’d by Swellow’s Brave Bird…then my Scarfed Darmanitan used Rock Slide and the whole thing was over xD They DCd immediately after.

The match should be automatically conceded to the person with the most remaining Pokemon if either player has less than half their Pokemon remaining.
Ranked always awards the win to the non-disconnector, right? I’m not sure. At least in Live Competition it does…

I only remember one leaking so far. And we’ve had about 5 or 6 which have each been really good in their own right.
