Just under three weeks since the last Pokémon Company reveal, we’re getting another Pokémon Sun & Moon update today! We’re not entirely sure what to expect, though we could see the two new Pokémon revealed in Corocoro make an appearance and maybe more!
A new trailer has been released in both English and Japanese!
New Details and Information
Pokémon
- Bounsweet the Grass type Pokémon
- Bewear Normal/Fighting type, can have the new Fluffy Ability that halves the damage taken from attacks that make direct contact, but in return it also doubles the damage taken from Fire-type moves
- Comfey a Fairy type Pokémon that can have the Triage ability which means this Pokémon’s restorative moves gain the highest priority in battle
- Mudsdale a Ground type horse Pokémon. Mudsdale can have the new Stamina Ability which means the Pokémon’s Defense goes up by 1 when it’s hit by an attack
- Wimpod is a Water/Bug type Pokémon that has the Wimp Out ability; upon reaching 50% HP it will run away or switch with another Pokémon during battle!
- Mimikyu is a Ghost/Fairy type Pokémon with the new ability Disguise; upon entering battle its disguise will take the first attack for it (no confirmation whether this is affected by contact hits or not)
Game Mechanics
- Pokémon can now access ‘Hyper Training’ which allows for IVs to be raised for the first time ever. This is accessible at level 100 and uses ‘bottle caps’. No word if you can transfer them over from Fallout.
- You can now host tournaments on the Global Link!
So apparently the live action movie is based on FREAKIN DETECTIVE PIKACHU… I’m so upset I really was hoping it would be a Pokemon origins live action….
Actually I a not upset at all ……making a movie based in pkmn game could ruin pkmn.
why would it ruin it? I would love a movie based on red and blue! Or maybe even a completely new story, but not based on a spinoff game…
Bad movies have ruined franchises before.
Though fortunately it usually just ruins the franchise’s marketability as a movie (like Superman).
Omfg I could not follow the plot of BvS
Well actually I was referring to the classic superman movies. After a certain bad one (Superman 4?), there was a long wait before Superman Returns.
Back to BvS, its Ultimate Edition fixes the movie though, you should give that a shot (if you can, for free if someone you know has bought it).
That’s because There was no plot
You can’t hurt Nintedo they got 20% of their profits from Pokemon Go alone already.
I understand… But that doesn’t mean that the main game story premise is a bad idea. I understand that a bad movie could ruin Pokemon, but detective pikachu could very well be that… I mean, the first time we get a live action movie for Pokemon it ends up being a spin off game 🙁
Maybe they thought the main story-style stories were already covered by the anime and the anime movies? I’m guessing.
Though a live-action movie would also probably attract the GO-ers to watch. So one based on the main stories is actually a pretty great idea.
Hmmmmm I hope they give the Pikachu a very “un-Pikachu” sounding voice actor for the English version

So it’s clear, we must find out how Bottlecaps work and prepare a level 100 Ditto for HT
That well we can at least have a clean Ditto for IV breeding, I mean if Bottlecaps are like crazy expensive I think it would be a better investment to have the ditto first and save future training for events and…..legends
And with Pokemiles going soon, we could get a ton of Rare candies to speed up the process

Haha. Lol. Evolved my Eevee into a Flareon. It has 666 CP so I called it Cerberus and took a screenshot. Also, the nickname thing doesn’t work 100% of the time. I called this one Rainer and got a Flareon, then changed the nickname.

Ok after reviewing all the footage we’ve been given these Pokemon are part of the dex. I know that they may have just been for trailers, but all the Pokemon in XY trailers were in the dex, so if we go off of that, this is the known dex. (Whew that was exhausting.)

No I play a limited set of games limited to Smash bros., Pokemon, Yo-Kai Watch, Digimon, Kirby, Yoshi, Paper Mario, Q*bert, and some one thing games like runny egg, The only starfy game in English, ect.

The first Pokemon live action movie is going to be based on a spin-off game that no one outside of Japan has even played…. Out of ALL the things they could’ve put together for Pokemon. An epic tale about a new trainer (a whole new story), or something along the lines of Pokemon origins…

They need to get the guy that plays Sherlock in the Sherlock series, um Benedict Cumberbatch, to do the voice of Pikachu. 😀 THAT would make the show more believable as a “Sherlock type” or movie. LOL danny devito would NOT be a good voice choice, for this part. It wouldn’t feel right, especially NOT to me.
