The hour has come; we’re about to learn more about the next generation of Pokémon games coming to the Nintendo 3DS: Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. - Grass starter is Rowlet; “Grass Quill Pokémon” w/ ability Overgrow. Also knows new low-level Grass-type attack “Leafage” that is available from when you receive it
- Fire starter is Litten; “Fire Cat Pokémon” w/ ability Blaze
- Water starter is Popplio; “Sea Lion Pokémon” w/ ability Torrent
- Alola Region
- Release date is November 18 in NA/JP and November 23 in EU

Ohhhh my God I love this!!!
I was exhausted after getting home from Civil War (It was pretty good). I got to school and my friend came running asking if I saw the thing. I was confused then he showed me the trailer and now I’m HYPED!!!!!!!
I love all of these starters. This may be the first time I instantly loved all of the starters! I have to go with Litten. It seems so different compared to the other fire starters. The other seem obviously fire. Like, they have fire on their tails and are all orange but Litten is black with some red. Looks like we’re getting an awesome fire dark type! Really cool! (Also please let it evolve into an awesome fire pumba or panther or something)
I love Rowlet! It is so cute and smol! I liked it rotating its head to get commands from the trainer. Seems like they broke the reptile grass type trend once more. I’m guessing since he is dual typed he’ll keep that typing, But who knows, maybe he’ll become a Grass/Dragon owl. A dragon owl?
I think that if I didn’t choose Litten though, I would go with Popplio. He is so cute! I love seals. I dont even know what to say about him other than he is just adorable! I think he will stay pure water but if he does it a secondary type I’m hoping for Ice or maybe even fairy. But Popplio can go so many different ways and I love that in a starter.
The game looks BEAUTIFUL. I had to pause it multiple times just to take it in. It’s like the cutscenes in XY/ORAS, but instead of being cutscenes, they are the whole game! I love the region. They are really going strong with the Hawaii inspiration. So if we can get a blue dog alien pokemon to go along with it that would be great.
The legendaries are really cool! Can’t say I expected a bat. I do still wish it was more humanoid but hell, bats are awesome so I don’t mind too much. The Sun legendary is really cool. Finally a Lion that hopefully wont be as disappointing as Pyroar (Give him a mega!) Super cool designs!
I think I’m as hyped as I was for X/Y, if not more. But the most exciting part…
is that Gen 4 remakes will use this engine.
Gen 4 remakes were one of the first things that came to my mind. It’s my favorite gen and it makes me happy thinking about how fucking beautiful Sinnoh and all of its Pokemon will look in this style.

Omg I was thinking about lake Valor earlier (without any specific reason). I can’t wait to visit Sinnoh again, haven’t in years.
I have a feeling the protagonist has moved there from Kanto. His mother(?) seems to have a Meowth and the Japanese trailer might be hinting this a little.
This kind of environment probably won’t allow for much diversity of terrain, but we’ll have to see. I’d imagine the Pokémon that appear in this region need to be tropical or at least neutral mammals for them to not look out of place. I wouldn’t be surprised if many old Pokémon were transfer only.
I can’t picture a wild ice type Pokémon in this region…I wonder if they’ll have to shoehorn a couple in.
They’ll probably just have another Hoenn situation where there’s a very specific ice location. Ice types were shunted aside in X&Y, I hope that’s not the case again.
They better have sun/moon merch out in japan by august, cause i’m SO buying a rowlet plushie

That is the strangest part of this pokemon but he is so great I don’t even mind
I like it a lot. The color scheme is very strange though for a stater but I can flow with it

I’m surprised people feel that way. I thought people would like him the most. I think it’s the cutest out of all of them and has alot more personality but that’s just me.
Eh, nothing about it stands out to me. It seems generic when compared to the other two, who are deviations from traditional fire and grass starters
Yeah, I can see that. I’ll probably be picking him if a third version rolls around though
I’d like them to prove me wrong though. I hope these all have good evolutions after last gens disaster. I hate them all
I really just hope that we are kept completely in the dark about their evolutions. One of my favorite parts of Soul Silver when I played it the very first time was that I had no idea what to expect. No idea what it would become. I hope they keep them a secret until release
They always leak though :/ I’m on the fence about it because I like to plan my teams out but it may be nice just to go through the region and catch and use what I want
If the color scheme was a bit lighter: light blue mixed with a polluted/tainted white, and the red nose was gone but replaced by black whiskers it would be much more appealing to the eye. The Pokemon itself exudes lots of charisma and character but the color pallet and overall design dilute those exemplary attributes.

I hope rowlet final evo is his wings, folded in front of him and the pattern and designs makes it look like a tux and also has a monocle
It’s interesting how they took a chance regarding the color pallet for the fire and grass starter. If put side by side, they diverge a lot from all the others.
I love it. I just wish Litten was black and orange.

The only reason why i think this is because oil is burned under pressure to produce hot exhaust gases which spin a turbine to generate electricity. What does Litten have, it has oil on its fur and it actually burns all of it once its time to shed.

According to the official website, “Littens fur is rich in oils and immensely flammable”. What do you think about a final Fire/Poison type ?

Litten is my favorite I prefer fire starter but he have the strongest character of them all ……when I listen to my feeling I see him as a shinobi ….he look like yokai though but still unique concept and different from the other.

My family got two siblings around 11 years ago (I was 10) and one of them passed away this year :/ The third (now second) dog is the daughter of the one that’s still alive. I swear she (daughter) is the most awkward dog ever. (I’m sorry but I treat them like family haha)
Aw shoot, sorry about that! Alot of dogs have so much personality. Banjo is super grumpy while Zelda is constantly excited and happy. Sometimes I talk for my dogs because I’m a crazy dog owner. I’ll just say “Hey dogs” then in a different voice say “Hai there! What’s going on!”. I’m weird but dogs are just so great
My sister and I started talking to the awkward dog in this retarded/silly voice one day and we pretty much still use it a lot even when the dogs are not concerned (we do talk a lot about our pets though hah). So yeah, I def get what you mean

I do kind of wish the Sun legend had a little more texture to the white parts though.. it’s my preferred legend but.. the white kind of just looks like they drew an outline around white paper and left it alone… that’s it.

Big fan of basically everything revealed, especially the starters. I think GF did a fantastic job with them and the final evolutions should be very nice.
