We now have an official English name for the Pokémon revealed in CoroCoro’s latest issue, as well as art for it! It is Magearna! There’s also a snippet about the upcoming movie which also reveals that this will be an event Legendary:
In this latest cinematic adventure, Ash meets the Mythical Pokémon Volcanion when it crashes down from the sky, creating a cloud of dust —and a mysterious force binds the two of them together! Volcanion despises humans and tries to get away, but it’s forced to drag Ash along as it continues its rescue mission. They arrive in a city of cogs and gears, where a corrupt minister has stolen the ultimate invention: the Artificial Pokémon Magearna, created 500 years ago. He plans to use its mysterious power to take control of this mechanical kingdom! Can Ash and Volcanion work together to rescue Magearna? One of the greatest battles in Pokémon history is about to unfold!
Do I even need to ask you to share what you think? I’m sure the comment section is going to be busy regardless 😉

So I’ve been thinking. IF we do end up getting a gen 6.5 it would ultimately lengthen this gen significantly I think. Unless we really don’t get any new Pokemon it would stand to reason that they’d leave it out to played for a decent amount of time. I can’t c them releasing a whole batch of new Pokemon (even just another 70) and then all of a sudden not many months later announcing gen 7. The only reason they were able to announce gen 6 so quickly after BW2 was bc those games didn’t really offer anything new other than a story. Pokemon games don’t really take all that long to complete so it made sense that they’d jump on a new gen announcement so soon after. This time however if they reveal new Pokemon I feel like they’d want us to soak in the Pokemon for a long time b4 we all of a sudden get a brand new batch of Pokemon AGAIN. If we do get a gen 6.5 I wonder how they’ll progress form there on out. Things r definitely in a a weird spot whatever we end up getting. If we get 6.5 then we possibly have a long generation as a whole to get through. If we get 7 then we essentially skip over a couple of legendaries story wise. It really makes ya think doesn’t it? lol
Let’s think of it from a movie perspective. Magearna’s inclusion follows a trend in which a brand new Pokemon, foreshadowing a new generation, joins up with the final Pokemon of the current National Pokedex (Volcanion). It would be logical to assume that Gen 7 will release next year, as there are no more Kalos Pokemon to promote. I think the only question is whether Pokemon Z will be released this year to bridge the gap. There’s also the possibility that Z contains Magearna (along with other Pokemon), which I think still follows the same foreshadowing structure I talked about before. If this is the case, we’d probably see one final Kalos movie next year in 2017 and Gen 7 would finally begin in 2018.
I guess that makes sense. I think one possibility that everyone keeps over looking is that Z may not b at all what we’ve come to believe. For all we kno Magearna is the gen 7 mythical and Z will just b some boring filler game that isn’t as exciting as everyone is hyping it up to b. It might still b a good game, but it seems like everyone has these amazing and fantastical ideas of what it could b. What if it isn’t at all what we think and as u said is simply suppose to fill the time between ORAS and the gen 7 games……..I hope it lives up to everyone’s expectations, but at this point I don’t think I can get excited anymore until I see proof hahaha
Interesting that an artificial Pokemon created 5000 years ago have references to fashion of sooner centuries with its dress. This may refer to alternative technology that was risen during 5000 years ago, and perished away for some reason, like myths we also have for this world. Probably a steampunk world or kingdom. Also, it looks more complicated than Porygon in its design, which makes me believe that technology of 5000 years ago in Pokemon world was alternatively advanced in this way. I don’t want to use word “more” advanced, but I want to say that it was “alternatively” advanced.
500 not 5000
Sorry for my mistake. Now what I’ve written is just bullshit.
It’s alright everyone makes mistakes lol
at first time I read it 5000 too according to hermetic(alchemy) teaching it should be more than 5000 years cuz alchemy teaching appeared in ancient egypt.
Dang it! I always get attached to the Japanese name then I have to get the English name in my head >.<
It’s only been like 5 days and ur already attached to the Japanese name? hahaha They’re basically the same. The Japanese name basically just leave the R out of the pronunciation lol
Well it’s the one I saw first. And I’ll get used to it but it’s a bit frustrating
Right? I still refer to some of the Gen 5 pokemon by their Japanese names because I was exposed to them first 😛
I still find myself messing up and calling Tepig “Pokabu”
Ha. Nerd
Y-you big jerk!
Decided to just call her Maggie
Stealing that for when I can nick name it
If you can nickname it, that is. It’s probably an event Pokemon.
Dang, didn’t think about that. They need to allow changing the names of all pokemon in the next game. It’s a pointless limitation
You people are so uppity with names sometimes
Some people here are so uppity with designs and typings sometimes.
I know right
How very peculiar…
By the way, I think the 4 on Manaphy can also be spotted with its four yellow eyebrow things.
At this point, I seriously think the image is reaching quite a bit. Diancie would be Generation 7 if you counted all of the gems on her head. Plus, why only Diancie? Why not Hoopa. I believe that it is just an odd coincidence, yet neat nonetheless.
These are all of the rare Mythical “Fairy” Pokemon from each generation, so they all have similarities. I just thought this was an interesting idea, and it could be true.
All these “make” the roman numerals with their body shape, and Magearna doesn’t make the roman numeral, it just has 7 sides. I claim this false!
It’s pushing it but eh.
I have no idea what in the world you’re illustrating there.
Roman numerals
Definitely reaching, but I like it. Honestly though, it’s probably more one of those “I’m looking for connections and there it is” type things.
Hey guys, remember that leak list? Let’s look at three of those Pokémon:
Aibyoushi: Quantum
Jouhooru: Singularity
Kanshioni: Thermodynamic
Someone in the 4chan thread tried to make sense of these names and suggested they are Ibious, Johole, and Kantion. IJK. He then noted it formed a letter sequence like XYZ and wondered what it meant. My theory: Vector components.
https://math-e-motion.wikispaces.com/file/view/ijk.gif/32885525/350×245/ijk.gif
I forgot to mention this here, but it’s a very interesting coincidence. I happen to be doing vectors in Pre-Calculus right now and the variables “i” and “j” are used a lot. Vectors go along perfectly with the axis theme of X and Y (which was confirmed by Game Freak themselves, by the way). Another instance of this leak being extremely well put together, assuming it wasn’t taken directly from an official source.
Here’s a blast from the past. HGSS are some of the best games in the series thus far (but that may be my love for Johto talking).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lq9Xt3FJH80
I agree. Johto is hands down my favorite region and HGSS are nearly perfect pokemon games
Ah yeah. Back when the TV show had any significance… Lol.
Yeah, back when we didn’t have to see a naked man showering just to look at 15 seconds of footage.
I don’t know what you were watching, but most people do shower naked.
Pokemon Sunday was the shit. They gave us news about HeartGold & SoulSilver and Black & White. They will be remembered as they fueled my childhood and Pokemon hype!
I still can’t believe they look like they r right now.
Generation 6.5, if it turns out to be true could very well wrap up the Pokemon sagas before “it” into a neat package before going into generation 7 because currently, the amount of confusion with all these loose ended information is quite immense. Masuda did say, as many of you pointed out, that generation 7 will focus on the founding foundations of Pokemon and simplicity so, what better way to cap off Pokemon before transitioning into a new, simpler form of Pokemon than to release one hell of a game, wrap everything up into a neat little package and say adieu. Pokemon Z or AZ, whichever one takes on fruition should explain the Pokemon timeline better so as to not confuse everyone or maybe it’ll add onto the confusion and Pokemon becomes a Zelda-esque game with its intervening time lines and plot structures. This is an exciting time for Pokemon fans everywhere with the 20th anniversary approaching, Pokken Tournament, possible new games, Magearna, and much more! Pokemon will probably tighten its reigns on the Japanese market and utilize nostalgia to make this one hell of a year for fans worldwide!
I’ve been herring this gen 7 simplicity stuff but I don’t recall seeing anything about it. Could somebody send me a link?
http://nintendoeverything.com/ken-sugimori-on-next-pokemon-generation-highlights-need-for-simplicity/
oh man this very old ….but I think pkmn should be simple in masses not hall design in addition we r in very different age but I think Mr.Sugimori mean Abstraction art.
I actually really like the designs for the two new characters the cabinet person thing and that woman… 😀
What if Pokemon AZ basically retells the beginning of the Kalos region to its end and you have to change the morbid ending… Haha!
I;ms sad that they didn’t release a new trailer along with Magearna. Even if it didn’t reveal anything really new it would have been interesting to c how it move and looks in the movie.
My friend and I each got a single Mew today. I intended to get 4, of course, but the guy at the register was unnecessarily passive-aggressive and handed one to everybody who asked for them. My usual GameStop with nicer people didn’t have them in stock, unfortunately.
Darn, I hated how they only gave me one, as well. Just try going again another day, or get somebody else to go in for you. Going in on a different day, the lady gave me the last 3 i needed
I got 2 :3
We should do a Metronome Battle soon
http://youtu.be/j5AA9uBHaUU
I teared up at the end of Gravity Falls. Some people might think I’m dumb, or a nerd for doing this, but I’ve grown very attached to the characters and the show because I’ve been watching it since the very beginning
I’ll have to watch it on YouTube. I was at work. ;~;
Well, it won’t be the same, but hey, you can still watch it.
I am holding out hope for a Nintendo Direct this week. The chances are seeming pretty slim but you never know.
I’d bet more so next week than this week. Maybe an announcement for a direct next week. The next time we could possibly hear anything is around the 27th. It doesn’t have to b on the date, but near enough to it as that’s when people are gonna pay more attention.
Are you talking about a Pokemon game announcement? If so, I think it’s possible that a Nintendo Direct before the 27th could announce a “Pokemon Day Direct” or something like that.
I was talking about the game announcement bc I thought that’s what u meant…….lol Anyway I’m not sure about a general Direct either at this point. Maybe next week, but I feel like we’ll get word of one coming b4 they just spring one on us.
Okay, But why hasn’t Eternal Flower Floette been announced yet?
If GF is waiting for The next games then why was it in XY’s data?
Been wondering the same exact thing.
Hey guys, look at this:
http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=55228084
I do like the gear stack design but given the current structure (does anatomy even apply to robots?) it appears to have something keeping those pin like legs attached
But I speculate that under the hood is a whole mass of virtually everything it needs to function
The secret to magiana is probably the same as the answer the eternal question of what is inside a pokeball
Well there are some theories
It is said to re-create a suitable and pleasing environment for which they can recuperate and enjoy themselves (as to not go stir crazy if in prolonged Stasis) though it is not entirely sure if it simulates a natural habitat hologram as seen in this image of Dragonite
http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/f/f0/Iris_Dragonite_inside_Poké_Ball.png
But keeping in mind the Pokeball does convert the Pokemon in capture into a special energy wavelength which could continuously circulate through the machinery within the Pokeball’s capture system
But some others states that Pokemon can still actively struggle free as stated my Lucian that They instinctively curl up to try and defend themselves to heal while captured and then the Pokeball seals and marks the Pokemon to their Trainer ID
“Tsunekazu Ishihara, head of the Pokémon Company, says that the Pokemon GG will rollout in Japan, Europe and North America first and then later launch in South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. No date has been revealed as of yet. In this interview, Mr. Ishihara also stated that they are working on another big project away from Pokémon GO.” (Serebii)
This is annoying. Stop teasing another “big project” and just bloody tell us!
