  1. Time to retire to bed for now. Kyogre woke up and now’s a good time to stop as any. I grabbed this random Lv. 49 Ho-Oh from my Y that coincidentally has 1 less speed than Max Speed Timid Kyogre… it’s almost soft resetting time! But I’m sleepy. G’night folks!

  2. So, what exactly did today’s ORAS patch do for us?
For those that have already beaten the game and have gotten to the portion talking about the Battle Frontier going under construction, did you notice any changes in dialogue? New NPCs? A new sign that there is hope for a BF?

    • I don’t think so, i had a buneary and it hasn’t appeared in any routes yet (on the DexNav)
You probably need the national dex

      • Not necessarily, after the “you know what” incident, Hoenn became more hospitable for other region Pokémon, as an NPC put it. I encountered an Alomomola using the DexNav before getting the National Dex.

        • I know when I transferred buneary over it said ??? in the dex # (Lopunny still has it too)
Is Alomomola in the national dex? Or was that part of the update (also i have no idea what incident you’re talking about b/c i haven’t finished the game :P)

          • When I caught the Alomomola (without having a National Dex), it said “This Pokémon is not registered in Hoenn”. So you can catch Pokémon that are not native in Hoenn, but the dex won’t register it until you get the National Dex.

          • huh strange. Do you recall if Alomomola appeared in the DexNav after catching it? I’ve been to where Buneary appears already and it isn’t in the Dexnav

          • Maybe its because i didn’t actually catch it..? Really strange though, i’ll have to breed a buneary and see if it appears then

          • I evolved my Buneary, but i bred it in Sinnoh (full odds shiny) so it doesn’t have a pentagon
            that’s probably why 😛

    • Norman was pretty challenging tbh, more so than the other ones.
I had to reply on my lopunny to use substitute and drain punch repeatedly inbetween truant turns (sub on truant, drain punch when it attacks). Ended up being a huge pain with retaliate later though
Hardest battle so far tho is one w/a Milotic in the rain, took out 3 of my pokemon 😛

      • Yeah, I kept switching out of Yawn when that happened and just hoped they would hold on >.<
Breloom got down to 3 HP then took out his last Slaking with a Mach Punch.

    • Congrats! Norman has always been one of the tougher Gym Leaders for me because of his Slaking. I’d even over-train, get Blaziken, and still have a challenge on my hands. But that sense of accomplishment you get when you finally beat him, it’s a great feeling!

        • Well, I decided to scrap my idea for using my competitive team I told you about in-game, so I’m about to head off to Fiery Path with a team influx (meaning I have no idea who I’m gonna use, other than Shiny Metang and my starter lol). My levels are currently 20-23.

          • Why Camerupt? I mean, it would help with Flannery and some others later on lol. Gimme a good reason, and I’ll use it! =) Cause I was just gonna go with Sandshrew lol, Camerupt sounds a lot better.

          • I wasn’t thinking, meant Sharpedo. Or Wailord or Milotic.
I mean, Camerupt is cool and helpful but he’ll just increase your Water weakness, lol

          • Yes, that sounds more like it, and I DID need help in determining the Water Pokemon I’m gonna use (cause I won’t use Wingull/Pelipper forever lol). Plus adding Camerupt would make three Pokemon weak to Ground lol.

          • True.
There are so many good Hoenn Water pokemon.
I couldn’t decide for my OR version, since I was using Swampert in AS, I didn’t need one there.
Leaning towards Sharpedo in OR tho

          • Yeah, I’m really toying with the idea of using Sharpedo as well. Never used one before, so I may choose it like I will with a Heracross, another Pokemon I like but never used before.

          • Ah. I prefer pokemon that evolve twice for some reason xD
            It feels more fulfilling.
But it looks great so I want to use it 😀

          • Yeah, I totally get that lol. For some reason, I guess it just seems like you gotta put more effort into getting them fully evolved, and as such, it’s more rewarding. As for me, I like having a balanced team where no more than two Pokemon share the same type or weakness.

          • Ah, I am the same way with two or less of the same type, which limits me >.< xD
            But it works out sometimes.

          • Yeah, it does limit you a bit lol, like how I don’t wanna use an Electric type (which that or Grass is standard for me) because that would make three weak to Ground. But oh well, I make it work somehow, and this is just an in-game team, so I get to experiment a bit! =)

  4. I will make a list of Pokémon that I need, it won’t be as long as the last time. I hope you can help, and in turn I can help you. 🙂

  6. Just a head up, the only legendary I don’t have are Meloetta, Mew, and Manaphy because a certain someone failed to return them to me (not anyone here). :'(

  7. What’s the point in rushing through the game? Wouldn’t it be much better to take your time and enjoy the small little details you miss by rushing?

I beat Norman just yesterday and I’m having a blast so far, but I can imagine how the games must get pretty boring after beating it in like 2 days.
