The day you’ve all been waiting for is finally here! (Aside from those of us who have to wait just a little longer.) The first stage of the release for Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire starts today, fans in the US, Japan and Australia can finally get their hands on the game after years of wishful hoping, and months of anticipation. Trainers in Europe can expect to get their mitts on the games when they release on November 28.
For those of you who have already picked up the game, we hope you are enjoying it! In this article we invite all of our readers, whether old or new to join in and discuss the games. Has anyone confirmed if the DexNav can be used to catch Shiny Pokemon?
I’ve been trying to find out. It looks like it doesn’t tell you it it’s shiny but you get one in battle. (If that makes sense, I know I can jumble words)
That’s how I got my shiny Mawile.
How? Was it that Potential thing? Did it reach three stars?

I have no idea. My nav didn’t tell me it was shiny.

The potential rating is for IV’s.. 1 star means a 31 IV and so on. I think shinies become more common if you chain with DexNav similar to Poke Radar.
Guess I’ll be searching for Feebas a while.
Feebas!? Youll be at it for months unless you get really lucky… it is far too rare in the wild. My advice would be to MM for a shiny feebas if you really want one.
Feebas no longer has a specific range of tiles though

I won my very first contest yesterday! I entered my Taillow which had Brave Bird, and I managed to pull off First Place in the Coolness subsection. I never won a Pokemon Contest back in the original R/S, so I’m really pleased.
The one thing I didn’t like about the Contests was that the top screen was just showing whatever was directly in front of my 3DS camera…I didn’t quite understand what that was about.

I have made a conscious decision to try and make some sort of team up now but will still rotate pokemon in and out to try and evolve them where it is practical to do so but im gonna be focusing less on evolving things now, just catching them and then ill evolve them later using EXP Share once i am battling higher leveled Pokemon.
So… saying that i am now gonna box Vigoroth and continue working on Ralts and Whismur then im gonna go use my 2 Shroomish i caught earlier to hatch one with its HA and Drain Punch then backtrack a little now i have the bike.
