Three New Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Trailers

Pokemon’s Japanese YouTube channel has uploaded three new Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire trailers that showcase a bit of new footage. The first and second trailers are merely 30 seconds long and features mostly unimportant footage that we have seen before.

However, the third trailer shows off some new footage, most notably of the Abandoned Ship, Hoenn at nighttime, Mega Evolving Latios/Latias before heading off to Soar, and Mega Rayquaza at the Sky Pillar,  It also showcases some older footage of some of the new Mega Evolved Pokemon, Super Secret Bases, Mega Rayquaza, Contests and more. There was also a small preview of the Victory Road music in one of the trailers.

  2. The abandoned ship looks like a ship finally! *o* And are those stars on the puddles of water? *o* and that animation of the rayquaza event with the green beam of light omgasdfdgajhgfa *o* this is the reason I’m getting ORAS over SSB4 and i LOVE SSB

  4. aha so they can made sprites for dolls and tails in the grass, but they can’t made pokemon following us or customization… coool ehhh… gotta wait another year for maybe something better in XY2 or I’ll just skip this shitty 3ds handheld…

  7. 9,999,999 Poke Dollars says that the XY Prequels/Sequels will be ORAS ripoffs in Kalos and suck because nothing can be better ORAS…except for maybe Sinnoh Sequels.

  8. Does Soar replace Fly? I hope so. I never liked the move. Takes two turns, and there are better Physical Flying Type moves. It can return as an a TM, but I feel like it’d be unnecessary for it to be an HM.

  12. First off, BEST TRAILER FOR ORAS YET. There are a few parts I particularly loved, like the abandoned ship and seeing the cave leading to Sootopolis, and that pillar of green light shooting into the sky just to name a few. I can’t wait for these games!!!!

  14. So hello people, since there has been new trailers and pictures showing up over the past few days I did some research again. And now it is time for my new mega pokémon prediciton to see the light of day.
    Some time ago I posted the following names : Milotic, Shiftry, Slowking, Dusknoir and Torkoal.
    I still believe that these pokémon have a higher chance to get mega’s. But I also got some new predictions.
    My new predictions are : Slaking, Ludicolo, rhyperior, seviper and zangoose.
    that makes a total of 10 mega’s I am predicting. it would be amazing if it al was true. Also let me know what you guys think about my predictions. 🙂

  20. Coolest trailer yet. Mega Evolving Lati@s in the air while riding it is pretty epic! I see that now they have added the wierd crowd back in Wi-Fi battles from XY. Earlier in the year it was the triangle backdrop. I was kind of hoping for customizable WiFi battle arenas but oh well.

  25. Just seeing older areas remade is amazing! Comparing it to R/S is astounding. This is one reason why I love remakes. Just seeing the new animations around Hoenn has me hype. Especially, the new Abandoned Ship, seeing the Night Sky reflected in the Water, the Wooden Bridge in Fortree City shaking and Diving.

    (Refresh; also looking at the Abandoned Ship… I believe you enter using Dive. The water around it is darker and I see no visible entrance.)

  27. Apparently there is a second secret mission in the ORAS demo that takes you to an island where an old man awards you with nuggets. It is said that this mission is even rarer than the first one.

    This would make the resto battles (and more) more interesting to look at, so I wondered why it looked so mundane and boring when my Pokemon first came out…

  32. By the way, there not all trailers. The first two are TV Spots (Commercials). Hence the name TVCM. That’s why it doesn’t hold a lot of information. You can’t cram a ton in about 30 seconds. I think the title should be fixed.

  54. I agree! The best part was watching the player Mega Evolve Latios in the middle of the air! But also, what was that all about with Rayquaza! The green bean going all the way up to the sky made me think about one theory! Rayquaza can Mega Evolve on its own but when you catch it you the Mega Stone will be made for you to use because in the reveal trailer of Mega Rayquaza it says “Mega Stone obtainable in Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire” because you’ll be able to bond with it! And also Mega Rayquaza is now tied with Mega Mewtwo X/Y for the strongest Pokémon in BST!

    • This might be true. Yet, Rayquaza was shown with a Black Stone. I’m guessing this is the “original” Mega Stone. It’s highly the Stone that Mega Stones are created from. Hence; it’s glowing and vibrant colours. Rayquaza highly plays a part in this! (Refresh; Also, the image is from Mega Evolution Act 2.)

    its just so effing humiliating, being tossed around every attack the opponent makes landing, while my attacks do zilch and they fling you off and jump to kill you off…
    and now because of the stupid DC ban its a 40 min wait to play…..

          1. Because they were spamming and it is not that hard to spam.
          2. IDK who you chooses but maybe they were just not the right person to choose
          3. It was random online you will face spammers
          4. If you really are online prepare for anything and don’t get mad over anything
          5. Maybe you should ask for a battle here before you go Battle online with someone else, since most of us don’t spam.

    • Believe me, you are better than me.
      Then again, I barely play.
      There are always gonna be people that are better than you or worse than you. It’s a fact of life, really. I learned that up here. See, I was one of the best musicians in my high school band (Not the overall best but still up top) but ever since I got here, I saw people who were so much better than me on various instruments, it was crazy! And I still feel bad if I don’t get a run/part down perfectly because they do instantly.
      Just keep going. Keep practicing :3

        • Ignore them. They are either good at their characters or just cheating to get wins. Don’t let losses affect you so much.

      • Inspirational words if I ever saw them. And honestly, it’s true. No matter what you do in life (play a musical instrument as you and I have, play video games, play sports, whatever), someone is always gonna be better than you. So you can go one of a few ways, either pout about it, or try to get better. You may not be better than everyone, but as long as you try your hardest and be the best you can be, that’s all anyone can ask for. That’s how I was raised, and that’s the philosophy I’m sticking with the rest of my life.

          • I try to be postive and I rarely leave really mean comments. Cause I know how people would feel, like, if I got a bad comment from someone, it would hurt a lot!
            I’m a really nice and sweet person as well….so long as no one gets on my bad side.
            You be nice to me, I be nice to you. As simple as that.

          • I feel bad I can only give one UPVOTE. This is exactly how I am. I was raised this way and if you knew me you would know I am a happy person I am never really angry so I try to trea everyone with a lot of respect.

          • That’s exactly right Luigi. I’ve even been told by a couple people here that I’m always polite and nice and never give anybody crap. Why? Because that’s the way I am in real life. And it brings two more of my instilled philosophies into play.
            1). Respect everyone and hope that they will return said respect when interacting with you.
            2). Treat people the way you want to be treated.
            Sure, there’s a lot of drama here, but imo that’s to be expected. I could explain why I feel that, but I’d rather not.

          • Yes, and it’s important to understand those limits, and that not everyone can be good at everything. God gave us all special talents, and it’s important for each of us to figure out what those talents are and use them the best way we can.

  75. Most people seem to have started their pokemon journey with either gen 1 or 3 and some with 2… guess I came late to pokemon. I started with d/p and then went back and played the others… I guess I just have different “fond memories” of pokemon than others.

        The main problem was with the demo that it hyped a lot saying “it will contain a story which can’t be played elsewhere”

        And why are they doing stupid code distribution and what’s with the “Special Demo” title
        If they announced it once, made it available on the eshop and didn’t make a big deal out of it, it wouldn’t be nearly as disappointing..

  95. Some interesting news. Nintendo is doing amazing financial. Currently they have $14.5 Billion in the bank. Mario is just rolling in gold coins. Also, they have $9.67 Billion in assets. They also made over 220 Million in Q2. Just wow. The New 3DS is doing well in Japan too.

    Also, OR/AS destroyed X/Y pre-orders quickly. I believe this is the most pre-orders ever placed for a Pokemon Game. I guess X/Y will drop to the No. 2 spot. Nintendo is predicting that OR/AS will sell more copies than X/Y. We just have to wait and see! (Refresh.)

    • That is one thing that actually bothered me about RSE. I never liked how you never saw your rival’s fully evolved starter. Plus, I wouldn’t mind another battle with Wally, cause he’s a rival too imo. I’d really like them to change at least one of those two things in ORAS (specifically the first one).

        • Yeah, I get you lol. Even though I’m a guy (and straight), there was always a certain charm about Wally. I liked how he was like the final test before the Elite Four. As for your rival, he/she was just ticked that you were better than they were, even though they were a trainer first lol. XD

            I dunno what May felt/said during the games, since I always play as a girl, so I dunno if they were ticked. From what I saw from other people playing, it sounded like May was nicer, especially in the beginning. Brendan was all high and mighty xD

          • Yeah, she was nicer from what I remember (haven’t played RSE in a long time lol). But I thought it was a nice change from the ways of Blue and Silver in the first two gens. Blue was very, uh, snooty and Silver was to the point of physical abuse. I guess Brendan was just prideful, while May was more compassionate, even though neither was happy with losing.

            Especially cause my Pokemon OTP is SOulsilvershipping. Like a happy girl and a mean guy just yesssss.
            Especially that Radio Tower stripping scene ohohohohoho~

            Calem is a bit like Brendan to me though. But nicer, I guess.

          • Oh, yes! Silver was AWESOME! Maybe because he was the first rival I really got to know (started with Red, but remember Silver as being my first true game). And I gotta say, I like reading about shipping pairs in Pokémon too lol, in both the anime and the games (probably more than I should, but oh well! XD). I didn’t face Calem as a rival, but I thought that Serena was sweet.

          • OMG just yessss shipping is too awesome but also kind of addicting xD Like if I encounter a new shipping through some medium, regardless if I am in the fandom or not, I will ship it regardless. Gets pretty dangerous.
            Recent addictions include Kainora from LOK, because they are just too adorable I need some Kainora in Book 4 just yes.
            Anyways xD
            I love characters with a dark past/dark self who betters themselves and have depth to them. It’s why I love SIlver. I love deep characters.
            I saw a lot of Serena through other people’s playthroughs and I thought she was very sweet 😀 THere should definitely be a guy rival who is very sweet and nice, but has a darker reason why, and you bond with him so much. Like yess. Or just sweet and nice in general. I mean, sure, there’s Barry, but that wasn’t his main characteristic. I want a guy rival who is more known for his kindness and sweetness.
            Maybe that’s why I like Wally. He’s closer to that kind of rival, I guess :3

          • Yeah, I like that too! I mean, I guess that’s how my brain is wired to look for those sorta things lol, no idea. But I like it when characters have a connection like that and it goes beyond the story that the writers are trying to tell. That’s actually one of the things that fascinates me about some of the games I play, the fact that the people who made them put so much thought and effort into the story they used.
            And I agree about the guy rival needing to be nice for a change. I mean, sure, it’s probably a bit of a stereotype that guys are supposed to be tough-minded, but can’t we have someone be sincere and sweet for a change? Maybe it’s just me being a guy saying this, or maybe I would like to see a character in Pokémon I can actually relate to. I’ve been told many times in my life I have these types of characteristics, so I think it would be cool for a change, but that’s just me.

          • Exactly! Deep characters just are more relateable and are just more realistic in general!
            And yeah, and maybe have a tough girl rival that’s not necessarily mean, but is more of a tomboy that doesn’t want help, but you made her realize that helping is necessary and it is not a sign of weakness.
            And with the guy, he’s kind of naive, so during the journey something happens to make him reconsider the world, but he still is nice and sweet and he tells you that he wants to focus on the positives in life.
            Like sure, it both probably will need more than changed dialogue to make this happen, but, I think you can execute this change with just changed dialogue.
            Besides, breaking stereotypes like that just makes characters like that more awesome.

          • Indeed it does, and that’s one reason I like Serena from the anime (yes, I still follow the anime sometimes lol). I feel her not knowing what she wants to do with her life makes her more more capable of being related to that some of Ash’s other partners. I mean, how often does a person know what they want to do with the rest of their life, especially at that age?
            I like the idea of also making the rivals or other important characters (like how you had numerous rivals in X/Y) break from the mold of “tough guy” or “sweet and helpful girl”. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with either, but seeing something else also shows that they want these games to feel real to the player, which makes it more fun. And above all else, it’s cool to see characters actually develop before the player’s eyes as they go through the story. Because to me, monotone characters that are the same at the end as they were the beginning is meh.

          • YESSS I love change in characters.Humans go through change all the time, so it makes it more realistic if change happens throughout the story. Silver is one huge example.
            Like even Barry kinda changes, like from losing to Jupiter on Lake Acuity and I felt kinda of sad for him afterwards.
            Brendan to me didn’t change at all, as well as Cheren. He was kind of the same while Bianca became more sure of herself, like I love her.
            Hugh also went from blatantly using you and kind of not caring about you (but still consider you his friend) to really supporting you and your dreams. Like it’s very subtle, but I noticed it :3
            And the XY rivals didn’t necessarily change, maybe Shauna and Serena/Calem experiencing the most change, but they still were lovable in a way.

          • And that’s what I like about those characters. You see the events of the story happen to them and change them. Silver starts to realize that he should be nice to Pokémon after getting thrashed by Lance. Barry starts to realize that he should change his ways after Jupiter defeats him. This is what I’m looking for in character development, and it makes the games more fun and the story more interesting. It keeps the player guessing as to where they are going to go next. Perhaps that’s why my favorite part about Pokémon games has always been the story. Sure, you go around, collect badges, catch Pokémon, etc. But there’s more to it than that. You try to become a Pokémon master and deal with all the ups and downs of travelling through vast regions.

          • Exactly. People always tell me all the time, and even my brother, that the story is always the same, and is very repetitive and boring. But then I tell them there is more to it. The villain team has very scary and evil plans. People change their views, there are lessons to learn. You learn so much from them, and those characters and their actions make the story more than just a boring repetitive quest for being the best.

          • That hits the nail on the head. Is the basic plot the same? Probably, but they’re smart enough not to mess with success. The key that keeps Pokémon going is how they develop a story for each game off the basic format. You’ve had various evil team motives like Rocket, Aqua/Magma, Galactic, Plasma, and Flare. Each one with their own style. And the supporting cast changes every game, and they all have certain qualities that make them unique.
