Corocoro October 2014 Leaking – UPD

UPD: Full (and new) scans have surfaced!

An advertisement for the November issue(next month) of Corocoro, from Shonen Sunday, has surfaced, along with the actual October issue of Corocoro!

  • First image leaked(the one in black and white) reveals that a serial code will unlock a trial version of Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire that starts you with the middle evolution of a starter in the November issue of Corocoro
  • Claims that you will obtain a new Mega Evolution in this demo; the words used leaves room for the fact that it could be a never before seen Mega Evolution
  • Mega Sharpedo gets Strong Jaw for ability, get’s a basic stat boost with no particular stat getting a big boost, typing does not change
  • Mega Camerupt gets Sheer Force for ability, gets a speed decrease and boost in everything else, typing does not change
  • Mega Kyogre gets Rain of Beginnings(“strong rain”) for ability
  • Mega Groudon gets Land of Endings(“strong daylight”) for ability
  • No details on Mega Gallade ability or boosted stats yet
  • Groudon’s new move is called “Cliff Sword”

Day 2

  • Kyogre’s new move is called Origin Wave, hits multiple targets
  • Groudon’s Cliff Sword also hits multiple targets
  • Rayquaza is connected in some way to the mystery of Mega Evolution
  • Corocoro ORAS demo to feature a never before seen Mega Evolution
  • Corocoro ORAS demo also set to feature a special storyline exclusive to the Corocoro demo if you play the demo everyday, with other secrets teased for next issue
  • You can bring over items obtained in the demo to the actual game
  • Mega Gallade gets Inner Focus for ability. Corocoro does not specifically say what stat is boosted for Mega Gallade, but it does imply that it could be a frail sweeper(“It’s a the-first-attack-wins-the-game type of Pokémon”).  Typing does not change

  1. Mega Gallade must get impressive boosts to get such a crappy ability. It’s official though;Team Aqua is the sexiest group in Pokémon history.

  2. Inner Focus isn’t that bad. Mega Gallade can burn Fake Out users with Will o’ Wisp and survive Togekiss’ Air Slash to get a Stone Edge in.

        • That statement the mods added tho bothers me. Corocoro says frail sweeper and first hit wins. That is realy annoying. I still like the mega. I wish tho that the new megas announced had type changes

          • I wonder who had that idea to turn it into a fast physical sweeper, though… because normal Gallade was a medium-speed attacker with decent special defense. Now it competes with other inner focus attackers like (normal) Alakazam and (normal) Lucario. That being said, if it’s at least as fast as Alakazam then we might have a winner here.

    • To each their own, but IMO Steadfast is worse. Getting hit by a Fake Out and getting steadfast activated is like saying “I used Flame Charge, damaged myself instead of the opponent, and gained +1 speed.”

Inner Focus stops you from losing a turn. This is not as important in Singles, but very key in doubles or triples.

  3. I just realized that Gallade’s heart that sticks through his chest, has expanded into his blade arms in his Mega. For the longest time, I was wondering, “Where did that heart go? It looks like it shrank!”.

  4. Mega Loppunny exists to counter Aegislash.
    She can learn Fake Out.
    What can possibly counter her?
    Mega Freaking Gallade!!!
    He doesn’t flinch.
He has the Psychic Type advantage.
    Yes.

  5. Is it certain that it says ‘never before seen’?
Knowing Pokemon, this could also refer to one of the new Megas revealed and thus keeping true to the statement as it’s never before seen in game.
It’s like when they say ‘new’
Rayquazza having something to do with this game? Shocker!

  6. I don’t know if all of you have been thinking about this but I think that Rayquaza will be the first Pokémon to have access to both Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion! I think that it will have the Primal Reversion like Groudon & Kyogre but it will also have a Mega Evolution and I hope they had a post-game storyline featuring Rayquaza! Can’t wait for the Games!

    • Well no, in VGC, flinch is frequent (Kangaskhan the main user), M.Gallade now can act and strike even though Fake Out was used as a result of Inner Focus

      • I am very well aware of that.

        Turn 1:
        -Kanga player picks Mega-Return
        -Gallade player picks Mega-anything
=Kanga goes first (90speed>80speed), double hits Mega Gallades puny 65HP/60def and OHKOs without the second hit.

Not to mention it already has Steadfast as regular Gallade that actually raises it’s speed for switching back into Fake outs, it’s completely wasted potential.
I mean, Megas are known for getting ridiculously broken abilities to make them worthwhile. At least Adaptability or something would have been nice IMO.

        • 252HP 236DEF tho to survive Adamant Kanga… but still it’s true that fake out/flinch is common in doubles.
          252+ Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Return vs. 252 HP / 236 Def Gallade: 145-172 (82.8 – 98.2%) — guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

          Also, Double Protect turn 1.

  7. So that Smash leak, was 102% legit.
People have already got their twitch steams of the game taken down, and I saw one who had most of the characters in the leak, including Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, and Duck Hunt Dog.

Might make a community article on RL later!
