PJT ’14 – Eliminations Round Begins

Later than expected, due to personal issues, I’m happy to bring you an updated regarding the final leg of our 2014 Tournament. Today marks the start of the Eliminations Round, where after 16 more battles we’ll have the very first PokéJungle Champion!

Pairings & Challonge

Earlier in the week we announced the initial list of competitors who had made it through to the Eliminations, today we can provide you with full pairings for each competitor. Sadly, we say good bye MissMilotic of Canalave Group. MINIRYUNINJA AND RHENEAS OF FALLARBOR GROUP NEED TO BATTLE ONE ANOTHER BEFORE RESULTS CAN BE CONFIRMED.

Below are the listings for the first set of battles, as soon as one pairing is complete in the second set of battles competitors may battle. These pairings were made using a random generator, and as such any group member crossovers are sadly unavoidable.

Competitors may begin battling right away, with a deadline for completion dates being made available soon.

Eliminations Pairings

For the Eliminations leg of the tournament we will be using the external tournament site, Challonge. This allows us to create an easily updatable, live bracket for everyone to view. The live bracket can be viewed by anyone by clicking HERE. We will update this as soon as possible after receiving battle results; all results will also be kept locally on my computer should they be lost on Challonge.

Format & Rules

The Eliminations Round in our tournament maintains the same rules and format as the Groups Stage. All battles should be carried out in the same manner, with results being submitted by both competitors using the form below. Arranging batles can either be done privately or by using the comments section on the site.

For a reminder of rules and format, please see below.

Winner/Loser Confirmation

Once again, competitors are required to declare the results of their battle by submitting them to us privately using a form. We ask that you include a battle video with your submission so we can check results or and claims of cheating if necessary.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part and supported us over the course of our biggest tournament and we can’t wait to host more in the near future. Good luck to all competitors in the eliminations round, and we hope you all play your absolute best!

As always please ask any questions you may have and we will answer them ASAP. Don’t forget to Like us on Facebook and Follow us on Twitter too!

  1. Okay you guys… remember how I used to have two theories about Zygarde’s game. One theory was I thought it would be a prequel…Well I no longer think that.

My other theory was that we’ll be able to use the same exact protagonist (with clothes, trainer ID etc) to travel to the new region because of the Backpacker talking directly to us with “you’ll see it in due time”.

Well now I think I may have confirmation that the new game will indeed be a direct sequel to the new region, AND allow us to take Couriway train to the new region WITH the same protagonist. Okay, leakers have discovered two new “key items” . One of them is the Common Stone. I have no clue what that items purpose will be. But the other key item is more important. Travel Trunk. We can store all of the clothes we purchased from the Kalos region and stick it in the trunk before we travel. This means the new region will have more boutiques etc for us. 0_0

  2. Without further ado, I would like to reveal the new Pika News Network author as Alpha Ookaruss! Congratulations! Your application was absolutely amazing and based on all of the other applications we (myself, Djja, SlipperySceptile, PercyEspeon and ShinyNoivern reviewed all articles) felt like yours was the best! A biography article telling us a little bit about yourself and what plans you have for the site’s future is due on August 24th, but earlier would be best.

As for subdivisions, you requested that I assign you to two subdivisions, and I’ve done just that. If you want to cover news about main series games, create opinion articles and/or review main series games, you will get hired for Greninja Gaming. If you choose to do just that, but with spinoff Pokemon games, you will get hired for Spoink’s Spinoffs. If you would like to do reviews of other Nintendo games or even non-Nintendo games, you will get hired for the Random Review Corner. Please tell me as soon as possible which two you would like!

As to the people that applied but didn’t get in, I want to thank you for showing your interest in working for the website, but unfortunately I limited myself to only two spots for this application window. If needed, the next application window will be in November, and will start on November 1st and end on the 20th. But only if needed.

Don’t be upset though! Soon I will be debuting a new weekly series on Pika News Network where I will allow non-PNN staff to submit an article about anything Pokemon they so choose, and I will feature the best article on my site! This is similar to PJN’s Road to ORAS.

Once again, congratulations on behalf of the whole staff to Ookaruss, and we look forward to having you work for us for years and years to come! 😀 😀 😀
