The reason why gen 5 was memorable to me is because I got Pearl as my first game (got into the games really late), so seeing leaks about new Pokémon for a new generation for the first time was pretty exciting for me.
Gen 5 was memorable for me because I got to use my favorite Pokemon at the time, and it was fun transferring my first Pokemon ever (HeartGold) to the latest game in the franchise. About a year later after I got Black X and Y was announced. It was awesome.
My first ever experience of seeing new pokemon leak on a fansite was during 4th gen… I remember seeing Electivire and more being uncovered in the spoiler tags on Serebii’s website and I was screaming with amazement. Magmortar etc were mindblowing to see.

I didn’t know about BW until like a month before XD
I like gen 5. It has a lot of cool pokemon (Chandelure,Zebstrika,Braviary) I only disliked BW :/
Why didn’t you like B/W? The biggest problem that I heard was that it was too linear. Which could be agreeable!

It was a bit too linear. But I loved the story and the way the towns were designed.
It was more linear because of the story which was amazing! I still think B/W has the best story of any Pokemon game!
Generation 5 was awesome because of the leaks and the visuals of the game. I would say 5th Gen was amazing! I had a great time playing games it it. Sucks that it was really short!

Guys did you know that Grass Knot is a contact move despite being Special. Mixed Mega Gross is going to be insane depending of course on how well it’s stats are handled.

Metagross learns grass knot which can help it deal with bulky water types which in most cases wall Metagross.

my xerneas has HP Fire ^_^ modest with the ivs (31/0/30/31/30/31). If I have up a Geomancy it’s a wrap
HP Fire is not an OHKO from full health though. Regular Metagross is a good way to handle Xerneas….I can only assume Mega Metagross will be better.

Make sure your snover doesn’t already have 4 egg moves or else it won’t breed over

What things do you think game freak added to the meta game that made it better/worst
Better: hidden ability’s
Hidden ability’s was a nice touch in gen 5 cause they gave previously exclusive/new abilities too Pokemon that we’re meh ( espion, quagsire) and made already good Pokemon stronger! ( grenina, blaziken) I love it!
Worst: stealth rocks/ entry hazards in general
I HATE stealth rocks. It is arguably the most popular move and the most over centralized move in the game. Lot’s of good Pokemon got pushed too lower tier’s cause of ONE move ( yanmega,Zard) it’s ridiculous to the point that most people require Defog on their team 90% of the time just too deal with it. You gotta go boo.
Stealth Rocks is really hard to set up nowadays due to plenty of pokemon being incredibly slow that know it.
Plus, most pokemon that set up hazards are physical walls, not special walls.
But all stealth rocker’s have either focus sash or sturdy to insure rocks get up tho. There’s a few fast stealth rockers though ( garchomp, aerodactyl)

Errything. It all plays important parts in it, some more than others. As you can see with Smogon, you take out one thing, another is OP.

I have a love/hate relationship with stealth rock. It makes a bunch of pokemon unviable *cough Articuno, Yanmega, Moltres etc.. *cough >_> but it feels so satisfying to punish switching and ruining sashes/sturdy

Entry hazards are great. Sure, it sucks to have them on your field but, they’re removable and every bit of damage counts.
Trueeee. But, that move is over centralized too the point that most teams. are required to have a defogger or else you’ll be taking indirect damage
Better: In singles, Hazards, Phazing, Rapid Spinners, Defog, Toxic, Will-o-wisp, Thunder-wave etc. because it allows the game to be less “Offense-only, or Sweeping-only” centric. It makes the game a lot more strategic and you have to worry more about your surroundings, and future decisions than just simply the pokemon at hand.
Worse: One-hit KO moves, because it is the exact opposite of strategy.
So you can high five pokemon in ORAS amie?
You can high five a selected few Pokémon in XY’s Pokémon Amie, so it’s likely you can do it in ORAS, too.
