Those bottom pokemon aren’t hinting at megas. They’re there to show off the gym leaders main Pokemon. You can see Magneton next to wattson. Magneton still evolves.

Why is everyone complaining about the design of mega metagross? Mega charizard Y just got spikier, mega ampharos gained a wig, mega mauwile gained more teeth, and mega kangaskhan’s baby grew up. No one was throwing a hissy-fit about those guys, but metagross is experiencing the same transformations. I’m already in love with the design, along with all the other pokemon that were barely changed
