Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Trailer and Details

Nintendo’s Digital E3 was broadcast earlier today and with it the company has shared a handful of details relating to new Pokémon games. Below you can find our coverage of the news, expect more throughout the day with in depth coverage just around the corner!

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

And full trailer has been shown for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, showing Hoenn completely remade with 3D environments. Launching worldwide on November 21 in the US and November 28 in Europe!

In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Kyogre and Groudon are able undergo a process known as Primal Reversion. This allows the two Pokémon to revert into Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, and allows them to draw back power from nature and gain an even larger power boost. When undergoing Primal Reversion, Kyogre receives a boost to its Special Attack stat whilst Groudon become Ground/Fire type and gains a boosted Attack stat. Both Pokémon also seem to gain a boost to their abilities, although it’s not possible to confirm this yet.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will bring players even closer to discovering the secrets behind Mega Evolution, with players seeking out Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving and unlocking their incredible potential. More Mega Stones are said to be hidden across the Hoenn region. It also appears that there may be a link between Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion.

Below are a selection of screenshots and artwork showing the updated Hoenn region and the two legendary Pokémon undergoing Primal Reversion.

  1. Looking at the animation for when Groudon and Kyogre are turning into their primal forms you see this colored pattern in the animation…

Assuming that Kyogre and Groudon are the only Pokémon capable of Primal Reversion (that we know of so far) why couldn’t have they just made the patten blue (Kyogre) and red (Groudon)?

    Primal Rayquaza confurmed! :B

In all seriousness though it could just be me grasping for them straws. I really do want a Primal Rayquaza though xD

  2. I still don’t get why some people thought Groudon and Kyogre fused with another pokemon to become the Pokemon on the boxart.. .-.

  3. Some people refuse to believe that Mega Lati@s’ designs are final, and believe that they’re just beta, and the real versions will be released soon.

  4. You know, the mega stone introduction is has a big impact on the series now. These aren’t just Ruby and Sapphire remakes; these are like brand new games! New story changes, bigger mysteries, and it really makes you wonder how older games will play into the series now. especially with Primal Legendaries being input into the main games.

      • nah its a sequel:
        reasons
may and brendan look WAY older
        And “minor” plot tweaks.
        Um.
        last time I checked
A whole new legendary form is not at all like R/s IIRC.
        And
I do not remember ANY of the hidouts having entrances like that.
        Or entrances period!
        and how would they incorperate
        steven’s new purpose
        all new megas
        different cycle road
        new areas on the map
        And most of all
The area that you’re battling primal legends.
        Nothing like R/s
these are WAY too far to be just minor tweaks.
It HAS to be a sequel.
        It only makes sense.
They said “Full remake” but the info we received did not sound “fully” like R/s at all.
        Could they be lying?
        Yes.
And just the new looking legends period.

        • Well they can redesign gyms for remakes, why not hideouts? HG/SS had new areas on the map. Who really cares how Brendan and may look, there will probably be customization. And if they were sequels we probably wouldn’t be May and Brendan, we’d be other characters. We would not be receiving the starters in a bag from professor Birch like it has been shown. If these were sequels why would Team aqua and magma be back to trying to create more land/sea? That doesn’t even make sense. They already realized the error of their ways in R/S and in Emerald. They look different because if you go to their old character artwork, they look boring and crappy. Plus there is no diversity in the game seeing as their really weren’t any ethnic characters until Gen 4&5. Mega evolution is being added into the story because it would fit very well. Red/Blue orbs and Devon Corp. Steven will be searching about mega evolution because 1) they haven’t told us everything about it yet, he’s a perfect way to introduce more about it and 2) his character was actually extremely boring. He goes around the Hoenn region looking for rare stones. Lame.

          • Many viable reasons. It’s going to be quite different from Ruby and Sapphire but ultimately the same. We will still fight Magma and Aqua. We will still defeat them. They will fight a top Mt. Chimney, we will beat them at the weather institute, they will steal the submarine, they will wrongly awaken Groudon/Kyogre and we will capture them. It’s Ruby and Sapphire meets mega evolution.

          • ruby and sapphire meets mega evolution =/= r/s.
okay lets drop it now I’m running out of energy to type
you can reply if you wanna but I probably won’t read it because my mind is too tired because I should be asleep

  5. I really believe Sceptile will be the recipient of a second Megalution. I don’t have strong evidence to support my reasoning, it’s just a strong gut feeling. Blaziken is unlikely just because we have the Blazekinite, and it’s not an X/Y version, it’s just plain old Blazekinite. Sceptile meanwhile has a big X shaped bush on its chest, and I dunno, I just think they’re gonna make a special oriented one and a physically oriented one. They already appeased fans who were clamoring for Sceptile to be Grass/Dragon, just like with Charizard. I think the second one will remain true to itself and be pure Grass xD

    • THIS! The evidence I was going to use to help support your theory was Charizard. Fan boys dreamed of Fire/Dragon and we got it. But to not disappoint the Genwunners they also gave it a Fire/Flying.

Now fanboys wanted Grass/Dragon Sceptile for thee LONGEST and they finally gave it to us. But there was the fans who like physical/leaf blade/swords dance sceptile so my gut, like yours, says Sceptile will get a second mega (pure grass type).

    • Nope, nobody really went gaga for Sceptile far as we know
Blaziken was the popular one out the the three

And Charizard got one because of universal favoritism

      Reply
    • I really hope none of them get two megas. That’s just ridiculous. How do you even explain the physics of being able to megaevolve into two separate evolutions?

      Reply
        • Which sort of helps the reasoning behind Sceptile not getting another mega. The pattern doesn’t necessarily represent which Mega form it could take on but yeah, at this point any speculation could be a thing, so no one really knows xD

    • I think Game Freak will leave all of them with just one. Idk why they gave Charizard two, as if he needed any more reasons to be chosen as a starter

    • i have started to notice that most megas have some sort of X/Y shape to them, but i wonder if thats just because of chromosomes or is this is a running design plan

      • Blaziken is unlikely just because we have the Blazekinite, and it’s not an X/Y version, it’s just plain old Blazekinite.

Like I said, I don’t have strong evidence right now, but just call it a feeling. I really see it happening xD

    • This does look like something that could happen and wouldn’t put it past them to make a 2nd for it, maybe it would be similar to how Mewtwo is since one has the X look and the other Y it could also very well could be similar to Charizard too one that is based on fan favorites and the other to what its suppose to turn out as and since Lightning Rod isn’t the best Ability for it(?) they could add something more supportive to keep it more safe from a weakness

  6. These will happen, mark my words:

    – Hoopa & Volcanion will receive mega evolutions (they all have 600 base stats JUST like Diancie, and their event stories support them having megas)

    – The game AFTER ORAS will be set in a new region, 16 badges, and able to travel to kalos again post-game for the next 8 badges. The game will serve as the first ever Pokemon Prequel(s) [possibly go back in time & stop the war from happening]

-Prehistoric Zygarde will happen, and it will get its new moves!

-Kalos Starters will receive megas in this prequel game.

-New Villainous Team, Won’t be team flare anymore (read Hoopa’s event story)

-New region will have “Village of Dragons” location as well as the final Eeveelution (dragon).

I totally guessed ORAS release date and Mega Diancie, so I’m entitled to believe these things will happen lol. Give me my cookies!

  7. I just realized that with the release for ORAS being Nov 21st (for most of us anyway, srry) It’ll be coming out exactly 12 years after the originals came out on Nov 21st 2002

  10. HI guys!!! I love maxie’s glasses and did they add any new towns or routes?

  11. Its mysterious rings: “It’s said that Hoopa can use the power of the three rings it adorns itself with to move objects about as it pleases… That’s not all! I’ve also heard that when Hoopa unleashes its full power, the size of the rings can grow up to multiple miles in length! With such massive rings, apparently it can transport even entire islands!”

If that doesn’t scream Mega Evolution to you I don’t know what does.

    And then for Volcanion:

the extraordinary power that Volcanion is said to possess

    definite mega’s
