Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Trailer and Details

Nintendo’s Digital E3 was broadcast earlier today and with it the company has shared a handful of details relating to new Pokémon games. Below you can find our coverage of the news, expect more throughout the day with in depth coverage just around the corner!

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

And full trailer has been shown for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, showing Hoenn completely remade with 3D environments. Launching worldwide on November 21 in the US and November 28 in Europe!

In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Kyogre and Groudon are able undergo a process known as Primal Reversion. This allows the two Pokémon to revert into Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, and allows them to draw back power from nature and gain an even larger power boost. When undergoing Primal Reversion, Kyogre receives a boost to its Special Attack stat whilst Groudon become Ground/Fire type and gains a boosted Attack stat. Both Pokémon also seem to gain a boost to their abilities, although it’s not possible to confirm this yet.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will bring players even closer to discovering the secrets behind Mega Evolution, with players seeking out Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving and unlocking their incredible potential. More Mega Stones are said to be hidden across the Hoenn region. It also appears that there may be a link between Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion.

Below are a selection of screenshots and artwork showing the updated Hoenn region and the two legendary Pokémon undergoing Primal Reversion.

    • The Clouds in the bottom right are most likely the Battle Frontier, and my theory on the dark spot at the top is it’s Team Magma/Aqua’s new hideout. In R/S, their hideout was in the cave right next to Lillycove. That cave is still there, so now I think it serves as an entrance and path to that dark spot (Hideout) behind Lillycove.

  2. Primal Kyogre looks so AWESOME! And the cutscene looks outstanding! So much better than Groudon’s scene. I cannot wait for this game. And it’s releasing a day before a special day for someone here. I like Archie more in this game and I might switch over to the Aqua side. Archie has Primal Kyogre’s pattern on his suit (the back). He looks like an actual pirate now! Maxie just got glasses.

    Groudon > Kyogre
    Primal Groudon < Primal Kyogre

    • :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Oh my. I thought that piece of land on the bottom right of it was Sky Pillar. But now that you point out the map comparison O_O What could they be hiding :O

        • The cloud spot south of the currents too. It doesn’t even look like a cloud, just a big ball of white light. What the hell would they be hiding there? Can’t wait for all the surprises GF has in store ^_^

And speaking of which, HG/SS let us catch other legendaries too, like Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, could we see something like that in ORAS for other legendaries?

          • Yup! Someone said yesterday (I can’t remember who though) that it’d be nice if Primal Dialga/Palkia were in this game since Groudon/Kyogre were in HGSS post game.

I’m also expecting the Kami trio to be available post game. Maybe they can have something to do with the weather institute. Tornadus exclusive to one game, Thundurus exclusive to the other game. Bring both to the weather institute and fight Landorus.

          • OMG YES THAT MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE FOR IT NOT TO HAPPEN! Calm Groudon and Kyogre, restore balance to the world, and then post-game you have Thunderus/Tornadus roaming around bringing more bad weather, it just fits so perfectly, especially with the weather institute! O_O

Something minor, but I wonder where they’ll put the evolution locations for Leafeon and Glaceon. My guess is Petalburg Woods East side for Leafeon (Where you need Cut to access later on), and Shoal Cave bottom floor for Glaceon.

          • YESSSS!!! XD

And wow Petalburg was the first place that came to my mind too lol. I’m not sure what Shoal Cave looks like but that sounds like a fitting place for it. Hoenn doesn’t have like an Icy Path or something? Or am I thinking of Johto LOL

    • That is one big cloud ._.
      Big cloud=Big secret haha
I’m guessing Rayquaza is using his godly powers to conceal himself from the likes of Team MagQua
