Pokémon has just announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much more is known. Below is what the official site posted in their announcement:
Announcing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!
Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.
Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!
These games will be released in November world wide as confirmed by the Japanese announcement. The Japanese mini-site is kind of cool, by the way.

The game is going to be reboot/sequel. We highly will not play as May or Brendan again. Yet, I’m going to be Brendan. Cuz I always choose the male character! XD

its kinda hard to think that they are evolved in mega pokemon, they look different
IMO i love ther enew look like groudon from jirachi and the wishmaker but now with kyogre

O_O I thought the way Groudon looked seemed familiar.
It just looks different because they are glowing, I checked the sprites in X and Y and they only lit up SOME of the markings to make the Alpha and Omega symbols.

You meet him in Rustbro City and he gives you the option to pick a Johto Starter (holding their mega stone) and after that you run into him a few times during your journey. After beating the game you get to battle him and he gives you a Mega Stone for Metagross.

If this is indeed a sequel (which is what it hints towards), I want there to be new protagonists, and the opposite gender character from R/S/E is the champion! Either that or a character like Red in HG/SS. So if you choose the new male character, May would be the champion/Red-like trainer, and vice-versa! 😀
