  1. Oh Earthen. I looked up Rock Slide. Slugma is another pokémon that can learn Rock Slide that isn’t Ground or Rock typed…in its current forme.

  2. The Ben 10 Series has a Grass/Fire Alien. Why can’t Game Freak have one too? But not as an alien, but as a pokémon.

  3. Nobody could be on this to read this but Im sorry but can i say this ban-hammer me all u want. The reason why we are making this is a social site more then a pokemon news site since basically what news is out there…. ABSOLutey nothing and to my reason is that we are just trying to make the best of the site so this site doesn’t end up like it did before x/y we just want to keep the comments more active and stuff. A simple hi or Simple goodbye is the nice thing to do since we all treated as one big family.im not against the ruling of keeping. I refuse to use Chatango i hate it no offense to u chat people it. i love the comments and i think newcomers will see that we arent more then a fansite we are a family where u can state a problem and we will care for it. i find this place a escape from reality into a reality where i would love to live in. We are grown closer thanks to this site if this site was like any old news site we would be banned. I love saying Hello and goodnight it shows that im not popping up from the dead or just walking into someone house without saying hello it was how i was raised. for one i thought see it as a problem unless people just do it for the comment number thingy to go up which is wrong in my opinion. We also evoled we are playing games with each other now then ever. If pokemon news was out that actually made us interest for more then hour, then yea i would agree with the clutter of hi,goodbye, multi, battle, minecraft but it hasn’t. Look at the smash 4 direct it remind us how much we can talk about something important and react together on and discuss it. To the Gym leaders u guys made this site amazing u let us talk about what we want but im saying this if until main pokemon games news comes out can we talk a little off-topic then u guys could prepare for the outcome of the pokemon Games hype when they announced. This is more then a site its a bond of people that cant be broken.

    • I think what he means is when people post meaningless comments as replies to other comments, for example:
      XD
      LOL
      I’m bored

    • I agree that the Online Wifi Chats can be posted in the Chat Room. However, I like how friendly we are to each other. Sometimes, we have to let each other now how we feel and help each other out. It’s fun and enjoyable.

    • I for one thought PJN was very nice before X and Y. Not sure what you’d know about it. Cutting spam and self-control isn’t much to ask.

        • Obviously because new games mean more traffic. I don’t think the staff was ready or expecting this type of growth and activity (I don’t blame them at all, I didn’t expect it either) so it’s hard to control the chat. They really enjoy everyone here and appreciate the activity, but having common courtesy isn’t hard. They have to moderate hundreds of pointless comments when they have important real life stuff to do. With all the time they take moderating they could probably make more feature articles instead. Just be understanding and use the PM system that’s here for pointless stuff.

    • When one person says hi, with no other relevant info along, it’s a meaningless post. There’s no need to announce your arrival, just join in the discussion, or post something worth discussing. Saying hi just nets 5-10 replies of hi back, which is just clutter on Disqus, leads to the comments building up, and is just completely unnecessary.

As for the personal issues, Well as I said before, while we are a big family, I think it would be better if people could announce it on here, but then take the issue to PM just to discuss things more privately and in-depth. I wouldn’t want personal issues freely known to everyone, even though I trust most of the people. Like we obviously care for these people, but you never know who is watching and it’s easier to discuss things more privately because there are some people who, while they care, don’t want it all over the page.

    • Sure we are a family, but it doesn’t mean we have to tell each other everything. Internet and real life are two different things. Saying hi and goodbye in real life is one thing and so is saying it on the internet. In real life, it’s called etiquette and everyone should do it. But on the internet, you don’t really need to say hi and goodbye since it just adds to the clutter of already a ton of comments. You would have to go back A LOT to actually read meaningful comments, or go to the oldest comments. And sometimes, a select few of the oldest comments are off-topic right from the get go.

As TC stated, you never know who is watching. Gathering information on us and it’s pretty scary when you stop and think about it. Personal problems are better solved in private because well, they are personal. I do understand how you feel about the “we are a family where u can state a problem and we will care for it.”

Let’s look at it this way: PokeJungle is a highway. And all of the cars (except some) that pass by drop some litter. And that litter adds to the clutter and makes the highway dirty. Then it’s the mod’s job to clean that up, but it’s too much clutter. PJ wants the best for his website, I’m sure he likes seeing us interact but he wouldn’t like to see his highway full of litter.

You have done the “for the comment number thingy to go up which is wrong in my opinion.” thing yourself… It’s nice to see everyone being so friendly to each other and having a second family, but not when it becomes just plain unnecessary comments. As for trolls, just ignore them, they add the clutter A LOT, along with the people wasting their time replying.

Point is, we should help the mods care for our highway like you would care for your new car or house. After all, it’s we who are causing the clutter, it’s we who can stop it.

    • But the purpose of having a comment system isn’t to tell people “good morning” or “I’m bored” “Who’s here?” It should be relevant to the article and relevant to pokemon. It’s often hard to find people even talking about pokemon without having to scroll down a while. This is a pokemon site, the discussions should be mainly pokemon related and add to the conversation to make it an intellectual environment. As terrible as this sounds, I honestly think it makes the site look a little immature when people are just rambling in the comments about how their life is going. I know you don’t like chat, but that is where those sort of interactions belong.

      • As much as I agree with you and as much as I accept that unrelated comments are wrong, it does not mean that this “comment system” has to change at ALL.

Here’s the difference, people: IGN’s crap Disqus vs. PokeJungle Disqus. They have a larger community that is filled with many more people that come and go, not allowing for relationships to be formed. They also have more banning. Here, we have less visitors AND less mods AND people who are dedicated and share common physical, mental and emotional states. Do you find that anywhere else? Probably not, no.

We have not been told to change, we have been taught to utilize moderation. I don’t think PJ would like to see his website become LESS popular, that’s idiotic. So, are you wanting to aid in this strange anti-PokeJungle revolution run by PokeJungle members? Seems like it at this point. All of you.

        • You misunderstand my friend 🙂 Nobody is saying get rid of the relationships that have formed, this is honestly the nicest collection of Pokemon fans that ever could have gathered in one place. What we’re just stating in our opinions is that there’s too much meaningless Facebook/Twitter fluff. There’s no need to post “I’m bored.” There’s no need to post “Hellos and Goodbyes” unless they have relevant discussion posted along with them. Otherwise all you get is 10 replies back saying hello and goodbye for EVERYONE that does it. It’s too much clutter trying to go through and find actual discussion worth reading/joining.

Even the mods have left hints in the form of featured comments the last couple weeks, John pointed this out earlier. So it’s not about them wanting the site to become less popular. But make the comments mean something rather than it being common facebook drivel.

        • I would honestly just like a clear division between article comments and chat comments. Some people (myself included) come to these comments to read about pokemon and whatever the article is talking about. I know discussion about the article can’t go on forever, but honestly I would like for there to be more of a fine line. Not saying change, necessarily, but more people obeying what the mods and a lot of people on this site want, and that would be effective use of the chat. I think it’d make the site a more interactive place.

          • Which…is change, as a matter of fact. Nobody even needs to come to the comments, if you just come for the news! If you’re good at talking to people in public, do that instead! Some of us here, MYSELF INCLUDED, have trouble with that. So what do we do, when we scroll down here? Talk to other Pokemon fans! And what do we do when we’ve exhausted all speculation and Pokemon-related conversation? Keep talking, because people like it here.

Great, here’s another paragraph start…this is all completely unnecessary. PokeJungle is NOT like other websites! We might as well not call it Disqus, because we use it for a different purpose. If all you want is news, go to Nintendolife, Serebii, Retry Level, whatever you prefer.

We’re basically trying to become a normal Disqus community. Then I lose my purpose here, and I can go rant childishly on IGN without a care in the world.

          • I just don’t see the problem with chat though :/ Why is it such a burden to talk there? Yeah, people feel skipped over but that is exactly how I and maybe some other people feel here sometimes if I come to an article late and no one is talking about it anymore and everyone is just saying hi and posting youtube videos. And I specifically come to pokejungle to talk about the news with other people who understand it. Not (always) to mingle. But if I feel the urge, chat wouldn’t be a problem for me.

          • I’ve been visiting this comment section every day for the past 14 months. I know how it works, I’ve become accustomed, as we all have. So that two-second downward mouse scroll is now engrained in my head, and that introductory comment so normal and expected out of us. There isn’t a problem with the chat, there is a problem with human ability to adapt to different things. Or at least, that’s what I hope. Chat isn’t very bad, it’s just terribly abnormal.

          • And I’ve been visiting longer. Again, this is mainly directed at the meaningless fluff that occurs to up Disqus total. Replying to trolls, meaningless statements that belong on Twitter, greetings and farewells without anything attached, this is just clutter 😐 All of this kind of talk can be taken to the chat. Personally just as an example, I don’t see the need for someone to post “I’m bored T_T” as a comment here. What’s the worth of that, it’s just another comment tally that creates more and more spam.

          • Ah, do I hint a bit of condescending in that first part? Well, I was going to craft a nice long paragraph, but now I do not feel obligated. Nor do I have anything else to add.

          • A discussion where someone is going to play the offended card isn’t a discussion worth continuing imo 😐 Goodnight Xatu 🙂

          • All I was saying was I’ve been visiting longer than you have, I’m as much a veteran here as you are. Chico and Ultron have been here longer than me too, Chico I’m sure of, Ultron I’m guessing has. All we’re trying to say is to cut down on the meaningless aspects of the comments section 🙂 Not directing this specifically at YOU! Just in general, the community as a whole, including myself cause I’m guilty of it too, needs to try and cut down on it.

          • I don’t know how long I’ve been here. I’d like to think more than 2 years. I remember serebii introduced me to this site a long time ago. I remember before the site even had a disqus, it was a weird comment system but I was volcarona or something.

          • Yeah I remember coming back one day and being really confused as to what happened to the comments system. xD

          • Nope I remember, I’m pretty sure I first came here back during when Heartgold and Soulsilver were first announced because I would always cycle back between serebii and here. Wow, that’s like four years if I’m right O.O

          • Maybe! I didn’t make a comment account till black and white because, you know, my name was Volcarona. But yeah, I slowed down on visiting the site for a long time, only visiting once a week or so. But then in like 2011 or 2012 I think I started commenting more frequently, and now I come back a few times a day, try and get a comment or two in.

          • I never said that it was specifically about me! I’m here because of you guys! And screw that whole veteran thing, I was just pointing out the human experience imprint thing and the time it takes to develop it. Maybe that matters more to you than I. I just happened to develop friendships here, that’s why I come back.

          • I’ve developed friendships with people here too 😛 Prime example is Jordin actually, best friends with him 😀 I love what this community holds. As I said, it’s literally the NICEST collection of Pokemon fans that could ever gather in one place. All I’m saying is the meaningless posts should try and be cut down on xD

          • I’m glad you let that simmer down a little bit, I was about to release all my rage on you Mr. Butter Bird. XD

          • I hate getting into arguments, I’m not an argumentative or confrontational type of person and when something is to the point that tensions are getting high, I like to sit back for a little bit before continuing on cooler terms xD But I’ve said my opinion on the topic now and that’s all I can do is state my opinion 🙂

          • I too have been here for a long time, but never was disqus this crowded before. I get that X&Y has brought a lot of traffic to the site and many of our current commenters are newer here, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be order. There’s just spam spam spam all over and I don’t gain anything from reading it. Just get a little annoyed. I like talking to people about things other than pokemon and I’m not innocent here, but I’d like to actually feel like what PJ or whoever wrote was worthwhile and not talked about for two seconds. They didn’t found this site to be social media. We all love getting to know each other but it’s gotten out of hand.

  4. They really had the competitive scene in mind when giving those Pokemon their moves, huh? Except for Gengar.. Mud Bomb? Seriously?

  5. I have an idea. How about a second Disqus section to go along with certain articles, one that allows freedom of speech, friendship, lollipops and sunshine? Does that sound good? No, my opinion is invalid.
