Ask PokéJungle: Generation III

Continuing our look back at the third Generation of Pokémon, we’re bringing you the next Ask PokéJungle.

Similarly to the second before it, Generation III is where a lot of trainers started their Pokémon Adventures, while, for others it was the third time they’d been introduced to a new batch of Pocket Monsters. Ruby and Sapphire undeniably introduced some of the biggest changes and additions to the series, including many that are still fan favourites today, such as secret bases.

If you’ve not already guessed, in this Jungle Asks we’re going to be focusing on all the Third Generation Pokémon games. We want to hear your questions! This is your chance to ask us and one another anything about the Third Generation, anything goes! So, yeah, have at it! And yes, just because I personally like the third generation the least, you can still ask me things…

  1. Wow. The article image is from the manga. My avatar is also from the manga. It’s
Like this article was made for me.

I want to knowwww, where was your secret base? That way I can come over and trash it later. Maybe throw a party when you’re not there.

  2. Generation 3 was a weird one for me.

It was my third Go through pokemon as I’m a generation 1 veteran ( or old man ) :p

I always remember when I first started playing it I loved some of the pokemon but I wasn’t happy with the large lack of older pokemon that I loved and no way to get them until fire red leaf green. The lack of day night also bothered me.

However the older the games and I got, the more I started appreciating them and their huge steps forward with abilities, bases, and diving improved game mechanics. Some great new introductions and new pokemon were also in that generation like the elegant milotic, and vicious sharpedo.

One of my only requests for a remake for the near perfect games are to make sure mega evolutions are back and add just a small few to certain pokemon. Also a bigger and more in depth go of secret bases. They have such a big opportunity to make these games greater. 🙂

  3. Soooooooooo first of all, I love Hoenn. <3 What is everyone's favorite starter? Mine is pretty obvious, lol. And next, I would've asked Aqua or Magma, but Dae stole that from me 😛

  4. Contests!! Did you participate in them? I found that after a long day of surfing and listening to trumpets, nothing was quite as relaxing as participating in contests. What was your favorite condition? Cool, Beauty, Cute, Smart, or Tough? Also if you could pick one condition to describe yourself, which would it be? I myself would pick Cool, and I always did contests with my Masquerain who was in Beauty.

    • I loved contests, except for when I hated them. Cause I also mess up ONCE cause of the moves part of it, and then I fail. ;~; But I am so very smrt, and I no how to spel and use grammer, so I am smrt.

  5. If they do add Hoenn back it should be in the Future of RSE to show how BW and Kalos were in the Future, They Are My First Games, Got Ruby and then Sapphire for My Birthday, and Was Suprised when I learned a lot of people I saw on Youtube talking on how they skipped them and got back on the pokemon bandwagon with gen 4

  6. Well to stet the scene
I played Ruby and Sapphire completely Blind
I never even owned a copy of Gold or Silver but followed the anime

I received it a a gift for a plane ride on a trip to Florida, I was shocked and thrilled, I didn’t know to expect (really I was nine or something) but I loved it)

That’s what I wanna ask you, How did you really feel the moment you picked up that Game Box
    Also who did you pick?:
and which Gym Leader/Elite Four gave you the most trouble:

    • Well, there was a one year gap between the release of RS and the time I got my game. I wasn’t very active with games back then, hardly playing my GBA. But then it was my birthday and we were in a normal store and I saw it and I wanted it so hard.
That’s when I started getting into Pokémon again. Got a DS shortly after, which made me play even more. If it wasn’t for that day I would have never visisted this site.

Also, I picked Mudkip, simply because it’s the best.

    • I went for ruby as i thaught groudon looked just totally badass 🙂 I chose mudkip first time, which i enjoyed. But i am partial to water type starters 🙂 whatever way i plan my teams sometimes in the elite four drake would always pose a problem just by draining my pp and also koing my pokemon. That always seem to have a type disadvantage when i play with random pokemon i never use 😛

    • Ruby. I had no idea what I was getting into, but it was fun. I picked treecko, but I lost my game when I was moving. I later played sapphire and picked torchic.

  7. My friend had this theory: So, with the imminent Hoenn Remakes, and that list of Hoenn Megas, he thinks there’ll be Mega Deoxys.Deoxys ist he DNA Pokemon, and we know Mega Evolution has something to do with DNA. Remember the Intriguing Stone? Deoxys has a stone in it’s chest. Just an interesting theory!

  8. Imagine: Nintendo reveals R/S/E remakes in E3 and Sceptile alongside Mewtwo get revealed as a newcomer and returning character for Smash.. the tagline “Mewtwo strikes back” is too perfect for him not to return. That would be the best thing that could ever happen for a Nintendo fan haha

    • Heck yes. Then we’d have a rep from every starter type, and they’d all be bipedal (kind of) reptilian/amphibious pokemon. Plus they’re the coolest.

    • As much as I like Sceptile…I don’t really want him to be in SSB. His body structure and moves would just be too similar to Lucario and now Greninja.

  9. So I have a question about Gen III (sort of).

Were you upset when you found out that Gen V ruined Groudon and Kyogre’s Signature Abilities?

    Reply
    • I’m glad they Nerfed Drought and Drizzle
but i’m majorly pissed that they ruined my Hippowdon’s Sand Stream
I have to use a Smooth Stone to keep it going instead of leftovers

      • Hi Earthen !!! it’s been a while. But I kinda disagree. All 3 weather types we’re broken and i’m glad they nerfed it. Last gen everybody was using weather teams and the only way to counter it was bring your own weather. Plus swiftswim Kingdra and Sand rush ExcaDrill where IMPOSSBILE to outspeed. Until they made it Uber
