They’ve also seemingly posted its shiny form, seen above. On the official site the Pokédex entry confirms it’s relation to Carbink as well.

  1. What is everyone’s biggest pet peeve in competitive battling? My biggest pet peeve is when someone breaks sleep clause!

  2. I have too much to do.

    1. Get turtwig
    2. Get pidgey for TC
    3. Make E4 team

I know, #3 shoudl be top but I want turtqouise terribly, and I promised this to TC before the league. If I get to 4 days before the league starts, I’ll drop everything.

  3. @IntimidatingWurmple:disqus I honestly dont follow sleep cause, but I dont spore the whole team. Its not fun that way. Smogon, I know, is trying to make battling fair, and make it easier to begin battling. While they limit your pokemon you can use and moves and such, they also limit the fun. I’d much rather get swept by spore then get yelled at for not following OU or whatever. BTW Yeah, I have it all planned out evs, moves, and everything

    • So you spore more than one pokemon, that is just so unfair it leaves like half the team defenseless and you can basically just beat their whole team

        • But sometimes people do not wake up and it isn’t fun just to continue getting spored it ruins it for me, then you cannot do anything and your pokemon just stay sleep not waking up

          • i thought it was confirmed that sleeping was 3 turns and that if you switch the countdown will not restart

          • You are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. But as I said, I feel limited to follow their rules. I got into competitive battling to extended the pokemon game, not to limit it.

      • You’re only thinking about the player getting spored though. I think Spore is pretty fair; if you spore first, then the pokemon that fell asleep already can wake up the next turn, you can’t really take chances when that happens. If you spore after the opponent attacks, then you’ve already dealt some damage. Besides, there are PLENTY of ways in XY to (easily) counter spore: grass types, lum berry, goggles to name a few.

        • I agree. As I said below, I dont like being limited. Spore is a fair move, not always insuring a win. Believe me, I’ve spored pokemon before and lost terribly.

          • Yeah, It’s not a move you can just spam, but I also agree that it really makes you feel like crap when you lose terribly to spore too.

Talking about other sleeping moves,it kinda gets iffy when you think about Dark Void in doubles/triples. You could argue that it limits pokemon, but then again, you could say that adds variety…

        • But that is the thing you shouldn’t have to get an item so you whole team can’t fall victim to this attack you can spore then there is no saying when you will wake up and then if they switch they can spore again if they switch you can spore again it is an endless game that gets very annoying. You could wake in 1 turn luckily or just have to wait the whole 5 turns which means your pokemon is most likely gone

          • Wait, isn’t the switching idea the whole point of single battles? you try to get a good matchup so that you can tear down their cycle of pokemon? It might be the most annoying incarnation of the idea, but it’s still an idea nonetheless. Going on with the switching idea, couldn’t you say that you could fall victim to any pokemon that isn’t taken into
            consideration?

I know that it’s a pain in your butt to deal with, I hate spore and double team too, but they’re really big tradeoff moves, and a lot of luck is involved, and luck is generally in favor of the player that’s being spored/double teamed. Besides, sporing two pokemon rarely happens regardless of clause or no clause anyway.

      • i find sleep clause probably the main good thing smogon has made up. darkrais … darkrais…my worst enemies now because of their sleeping move. and since people hack it, it has perfect speed IVs/EVs, making it impossible to outspeed unless you have a scarfed pokemon but not everyone has that. not even a priority move can kill it. i dont even think talonflame’s brave bird could kill it.

          • itt’ssss pretty bad. before i didnt like considering smogon rules, cause i found banning pokemon ridiculous, but after encountering some stuff they banned in the worse ways possible [rules wise…and blaziken LOL], i’m starting to feel pretty borderline about them.
I honestly find putting everyone to sleep/making your pokemon impossible to hit pretty cheap. how will anyone show off any skill if the opponent is putting a halt to the real battle? no one’s skill or predicting and moves are being shown if it’s possible to do.
if we are able to both show what our pokemon to do without stopping the other in such a bad way, then i find it unfair and cheap. sorry to anyone who use it, but it would annoy me a lot if someone did that D:
