JungleTalk — You Spin Me Right… Off…

News lately is… There is no news. Pokémon Bank releasing in Europe and North America has been the biggest bit of excitement in the Pokémon World for a long while. There’s no saying when we’ll actually receive some substantial news, but hey-ho you can all be happily transferring your eternal friend the Shiny Flygon over to your copy of X and Y.

The last JungleTalk came before Christmas, and even that seems so long ago! This next JT is for everyone to discuss Pokémon spin-offs. What was your favourite? How about your least favourite? If you could see anything in a future Pokémon spin-off, what would it be? It’s almost certain some of you have got some excellent ideas, so we want to hear them! If you’re feeling extra brave, what do you think the Pokkén could become? It’s obviously some sort of fighting game, but will it be more? Or was it simply Nintendo teasing us with a Wii U tech demo?

So, yeah! Get talking!

  1. My favorite is the Mystery Dungeon series. C:

What about another Pokemon Snap? Or something where you explore the Pokemon world long long ago?

  3. Oh boy… My favorite spin-off…
I’d say it would probably have to be Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky. These were not only the first games I cried at the end of, but they have infinite replay value. I never get tired of *SPOILERS* banding together with Grovyle and taking down Dusknoir and his group of Sableye. *SPOILERS OVER* And the soundtrack, oh the soundtrack. I could listen to Through the Sea of Time a billion+ times and never get tired of it. Seriously, if you’ve yet to pick up this masterpiece, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy ASAP.
    As for my least favorite…
I actually needed to put some thought into this one as I enjoyed myself at least a little bit with each one I played. But I eventually decided on the PokePark games. I just didn’t find myself very engrossed in the game due to it’s simple gameplay. I really don’t have much else to say against it though. Some of the minigames were fun enough and it had its charm. But yeah, probably my least favorite.
    What spin-off would I like to see…
I’d really like to see a Pokemon Ranger on Wii U. I think the large size of the gamepad’s screen would compliment itself very well to the series since in past entries you were limited to the DS’ tiny one. I’d really love to see one on par with Shadows of Almia. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Guardian Signs, it just felt like a step back story-wise.
    Pokken Fighters…
I’d really like if this became a reality. Believe it or not I had said to my brother a week or two before the tech demo was shown I was talking with my brother about how cool it would be if we had a Smash Bros.-like game where the roster was all Pokemon. I’d like to see it with online leaderboards and just online in general.

  4. I know this is impossible but I just like to imagine a halo pokemon spin off with spartans trying to shoot pokemon but we just protect and then use all our epic moves and we prove to the world(s) that pokemon can definitely beat halo!
