News lately is… There is no news. Pokémon Bank releasing in Europe and North America has been the biggest bit of excitement in the Pokémon World for a long while. There’s no saying when we’ll actually receive some substantial news, but hey-ho you can all be happily transferring your eternal friend the Shiny Flygon over to your copy of X and Y.

The last JungleTalk came before Christmas, and even that seems so long ago! This next JT is for everyone to discuss Pokémon spin-offs. What was your favourite? How about your least favourite? If you could see anything in a future Pokémon spin-off, what would it be? It’s almost certain some of you have got some excellent ideas, so we want to hear them! If you’re feeling extra brave, what do you think the Pokkén could become? It’s obviously some sort of fighting game, but will it be more? Or was it simply Nintendo teasing us with a Wii U tech demo?

  5. Yeah so the dittos I hacked for breeding, which are obtainable, wouldn’t go through transporter, and neither did the overgrow Snivy, but the Contrary Snivy did.

  23. Well did some tests and…well apparently the game has better hack prevention mechanics than the bank!

    I can’t trade the contrary Snivy at all, it keeps giving me an error and it’s most certainly because of its ability, because non-HA Snivys from the same parent trade fine. It has to be a hack prevention system as I read that even a legit caught Piloswine from the FS has Gary Pidgeotto Syndrome (evolved at a lower level than norm) and thus the game registered it as hacked and wouldn’t trade it (leveling it to normal worked). Boy this game is critical.

    I used Pokecheck to make the Snivy…in the options of creating her, I chose Overgrow as her ability, but checked the box so that it would have its dream world ability. The bank must have assumed Snivy to have its normal ability but the data overrided to give her the HA, as the Snivy I hacked to have both the checked box and its HA didn’t transfer. You guys can try this if you want.

    Not sure if she works in online battles (probably not). She doesn’t work in GTS.

    We can continue wondering why GF teases us with Snivy to give it a cool HA and then still not release it. For now, yeah, the game also blocks hacks (probably old news), possibly better than the Bank. But it is possible to get your own if you badly want one.

    • Uh oh. I guess I better test all “transfers” to see if they can be traded with my other 3ds… starting with the suspiciously 6IV dittos that I traded last gen, and the Nidoking.

      Still, that is good. My faith in their hack checking has returned, but not the bank one. 🙂

      • The hack check only seems to determine if the Pokemon CAN exist. Although, for whatever reason, my own 6IV dittos that I’ve been trying to hack in Pokecheck won’t get through Bank. Still trying to figure out why…thinking it’s a Trainer ID problem. I really suck at those.

        So basically even if you hack it, so long as the game acknowledges that it could exist in game (as opposed to a Snivy with a HA), it should work!

        Heavy said that even the game confused the hacked Snivy, meaning I can probably trade hacked Snivy. I might make a bunch for anyone not comfortable with hacking.

    • It’s alright Tales. I had a feeling the game would have found some way to disappoint us if it wasn’t the Bank. However, we now know that it really is possible to have one in XY so thank you for that!

      You may not have been able to trade her online, but did you try cloning her? Maybe she can be distributed to many people that way.

      I’ve never used Pokécheck, but I’ll give it a shot!

      • I’m glad it worked for you! I felt bad, actually, that I couldn’t trade them for you guys. Since the over-ride trick works that’s just as good. Enjoy your Snivy!
